For me I saw Deadpool ,wolverine....alien romulus and gladiator 2. Very disappointed didn't really like any of them. Though iirc all three of these did big box office or at least outperformed forecasts.

At least The Boy and the Heron and The Platform 2 were on Netflix. For some of the slightly obscure Korean and Japanese films they were tricky to find and were sometimes on YouTube or had to sail the high seas.

Deadpool & Wolverine, only because a friend really wanted to go and had no one else to go with. I'm not much of a theater person anymore, all the ones around me are so expensive so it has to be really worth it for me to go.

Bofore D&W the last one I went to go see was Avatar: WotW in imax and the 3rd will probably be the only movie I see this year in theater.

I've always been meh on Deadpool as a character, but I did like the first two movies. Hugh Jackman is one of my favorite actors even outside of X-Men moveis (he was Goated in The Prestige and Prisoners)
That said D&W was largely forgettable for me. Their van fight scene and Jackman's acting leading up to it was well done but I'm getting tired of the "popular upbeat song playing over violent fight scene" trope and that was really overdone in D&W. I haven't seen det Pikachu, no real interest in seeing it either.
I loved the first Avatar movie, saw it around 5 times in Imax. The second one lacked the magic of the first one but I still enjoyed it overall.

I mean, the Deadpool movies are generally loved.

As for Wolverine, I kinda fit the consensus. Origins sucks, The Wolverine is decent, and Logan is a masterpiece.

Yeah really disliked Reynolds in Deadpool, you brought that up , bad music, really disliked that.

Now I feel the need to post my D&W review from Letterboxd:

Meta overload, which makes a fun, entertaining movie, but also one that lacks emotional grounding. I love how much of a love letter this is for the X-Men and just Marvel movies in general from the pre-MCU era.

I love how Paradox, the rogue baddie from the TVA, is obsessed with saying that only the sacred timeline matters, and when you think about this from a meta perspective, he clearly represents Marvel Studios executives and even fans who think any non-MCU Marvel movies and characters don't matter. It's brilliant. Whether these old movies are good or bad in your opinion, they should not be cast aside. It also shows what could have been if the MCU hadn't sucked up all things Marvel.

As I mentioned, it is unfortunate that there isn't hardly any emotional grounding. Think about Spider-Man: No Way Home, that was all fan service and a love letter to pre-MCU Spider-Man, but it was extremely emotional.

All of 'em. Okay that's an exaggeration but I see three almost every week with AMC A-list so that is most mainstream releases and a lot of little quirky smaller stuff. Over 130 at least.

Pretty much. It's about 20 bucks a month and I get unlimited showings. With ticket prices the way they are it pays for itself after two movies a month.

I rarely see movies in the theater, but did go for Sonic 2 and Sonic 3. Totally worth it!

Not really, I watch a ton of movies and I didn't recall when exactly most of them came out. Looked at Wikipedia to see which ones were from last year and turns out it was just those 2. I remembered seeing them, and a bunch of others too, but I don't really mentally keep track of when I saw them. Thought I was probably missing a couple, but nope, just those 2.

So many good movies. Most people here are only aware of big budget stuff.

I think Deadpool and Wolverine and Wicked were the only ones I saw in the chain theater. I saw a bunch of older movies at my local indie one though.

It's about a young woman overcoming a terrible tragedy by going on an overseas trip with some college friends to a remote Swedish community. I don't remember if they are there to just get away from society or to actually study the community. Either way it's a really slow burn but a fun ride.

I have kept telling myself I am going to rewatch it because I think there are some subtle hints and clues throughout that make things less obvious than they seem. Or maybe I just liked it idk.
