Back in the 60s, the Southeastern Conference sponsored a group called the "Sky Writers", which were writers from every major-city SEC newspaper, and they would fly them around to all the big schools training camps. This was within a year or two after Bear Bryant had broken the SEC color barrier. The Sky Writers were at Ole Miss and someone asked the coach, Johnny Vaught, if he was going to start recruting Black athletes. Vaught said "As long as I am the head coach at the University of Mississippi, never!" The writers start typing this up...except for John Logue, of the Atlanta Journal.
