Alive but depowered is the superior choice. Dude needs to be brought down to humanity and forced to live with it.

That's what I was thinking too. Him losing all of his power, both literally and metaphorically, would be the ultimate comeuppance for him.

In addition to being depowered, I'm torn on how they should leave him.

On the one hand something where he's lost everything, he's homeless, and no one even recognizes him anymore and he's just on the streets alone would be a huge downfall and blow to his ego.

On the other hand if the same thing happened but people did recognize him and took pity on him and tried to help him...that might actually be worse for him.

Dead. As many characters need to die as possible to minimize the risk of sequels and spinoffs.

Depowered, as that would be a fate worse than death for him.

Im guessing they end up killing him though.

the only endings for Homelander's particular genre of villain is either "alive because the Story Ended before anything caught up to them", or "killed off unceremoniously and in an embarrassing fashion"

Honestly, it seems like he'd find relief in that way before too long. He craves validation, but only as a poor substitute for love, which he really wants but barely comprehends. Getting a sandwich on the house would be among the kindest things that ever happened to him.

Give him a milk allergy

It should be the same as the Plutonian's fate.

The depowered route is more interesting, but they could take it a number of ways from there. Shot in a random robbery, bullied by passer bys, or even just given some money by someone who thinks he is homeless to buy some food.

Depowered would be great to see happen to his character.

To me killing someone like that is similar to letting mass shooters die. They dont really have to face accountability or consequences since they got a quick out.

Wrap all the de-powered ideas into one.

He ends up depowered but manages to elude capture (a slow acting poison perhaps). He ends up unable to handle things being homeless and without powers because of his prior life, so ends up in a very sorry state under a bridge.

Gets helped by some people thinking he's homeless after a while. Then his powers start to maybe begin coming back, but in an absolutely minuscule capacity.

The two events cause him to stick his head out from the proverbial parapets and go into a random nearby shop, deciding to use his former identity to get some food ("people like me, definitely they'll give me food once they know who I am!" type of thing). Place gets robbed, he arrogantly starts his Homelander bullshit, robber pulls a gun and his powers don't work anywhere near enough, his arm is in catastrophic condition.

The robber then recognizes him as he's crying on the floor, spits on him because he was anti-Homelander, then shoots him in the head. Roll credits.

Probably won't get anything anywhere nearly as satisfying as that though because it doesn't involve any of the other cast.

after all the shit he's done, death seems the most suitable option for him no doubt.

however, depowering him seems like a bigger punishment. it would be like hell for him basically... lol
