Last I heard the Chinese government uses a meritocracy system to decide who is worthy of what position. Very little chance they do something as stupid as appointing a Chinese Trump.

While no government is truly without corruption, instances of it are pretty low in China. Not only is it an automatic death penalty, the general culture there is to put the country ahead of your own personal wants.

It is by far the most corrupt country I have ever lived in. Way more than any developed country. But not nearly as corrupt as other places I have been like Egypt. My wife's parents paid the hospital off to give their mother a bed in China during COVID when there was a shortage. They also were shocked that you don't bribe teachers or doctors in Japan when they moved here. I don't think you can understand how rampant it is unless you have lived there.
