In any case, old adventure games like Space Quest, Leisure Suit Larry, Sam and Max, Monkey Island, Simon the Wizard,

Modern games aren't really made on purpose to be funny anymore, at least that I've seen, probably because the genre it works really well with, Adventure, is all but dead. It works with RPGs but there's not many that are comic in tone.

For a recent game that is surely all about a darker tone, many of RoboCops lines in game that he says to criminals are quite humorous.

Thats Charles Barkley Shut Up And Jam Gaiden, I think? Its a classic spoof game.

I think one of the funniest games Ive played in the past decade was West Of Loathing (and to a lesser extent Shadows Over Loathing). Dont let the stick figure graphics fool you, the games are amazingly written and have had me laughing until crying on multiple occasions.

I considered those games. The Loathing ones, but eh never really dropped the few dollars they cost. I heard they were funny. Comedy is subjective, ofc. Games that intentionally try to be fourth wall breaking or funny generally aren't. I reckon, I find humor in smaller moments like even in the Twisted Tales of Spike McFang. That's pretty funny. It's a SNES vampire game. He eats tomatoes to regain health because gotta keep it rated E! There is some whimsy in the game though often.

Guardians of the Galaxy (2021) is legit funny. The only issue is the repeated combat lines.

Disco Elysium also has a lot of hilarious moments, but it is not a comedy game.

Someone should ask Charles Barkley if he knows about that game. I don't know it ever crossed over into internet mainstream popularity. But anyone who even touched an emulator I think knows about that game.

It came out in 2008? Feels like it is older than that. Barkley, Shut Up and Jam: Gaiden is a freeware role-playing video game developed by Tales of Game's Studios, jokingly presented as an official sequel to both Barkley Shut Up and Jam! and Space Jam.

Even wikipedia does state it as a joke sequel to that likely lousy Charles Barkley Basketball game.

Saints Row the Third.

Played the entire story mode co-op with a friend and we were laughing quite a bit. There is just some funny and weird stuff in that game.

came in to say Charles Barkley. That game is wild. The entire first dungeon is a sewer full of furries (people cosplaying as furries). Space Jam was canon in the game universe. The save system is a pump that wont stop lore dumping on you.

The first Ratchet and Clank. I thought the Sly Cooper games had some banger lines too, I'll never forget Bently going absolutely ham on Mugshot in 3. And Destroy All Humans was pretty funny too from the little I remember of them.

Goat Simulator and a surgeon simulator game (I forgot the name of the game) do a good job of subverting your expectations going into them, especially if you don't know anything about them. Both are definitely comedy games.

This. Everytime I think I've seen everything there worth seeing, I pass/fail yet another skill check I haven't experienced before and end up in tears from laughing at the result.
