Team Sonic Racing was the previous, and yeah, it wasn't as good. It requires teamwork to be decent instead of being individually skilled. If the racer count was higher it might have been better about it The 1st Crossworlds beta was surprisingly fun but chaotic cuz items were all over the place, and we didn't know what some of them did or how to avoid it. Iizuka basically excused the "no voices" thing as a "we just want to get the guest characters out in a timely fashion without having to worry about schedules lining up or certain things being approved." Considering how many lines each character seems to have, I can understand where he's coming from. It just makes it seem like they were an afterthought though.
