Student loan debt is treated quite differently than other kinds of debt. I don't know if it is or is not illegal for sure but comparing it to other kinds of debt just doesn't work.

If I was Biden and I really wanted to abolish student loan debt, I would have simply ordered the destruction of all records of all federally-held student loan debt.

Yeah this is what I was thinking too, like this sounds shady as fuck but may actually work out for a lot of people assuming they're fine with having a bankruptcy on their record for a bit

Like I know of a few folks who would absolutely jump on that opportunity. Already own houses and shit so they don't mind if their credit is fucked for awhile if it means no more massive student loan payments
