I'll give him mild credit, he at least didn't try to stay in the public spotlight far past his relevancy.

That isn't to say the Cheney family has done that, but with all the past ten years he could've been a lot more aggressive in trying to grift.

The fact that the Obama and the Biden administrations just let Republicans walk after all the crimes they committed while in office led to where we are now, if we ever get another Democratic administration I plead to god that they aren't stupid enough to just let the 2nd Trump administration walk after all they've done and will do. Seeing those criminals get off scott free really helped fuel the same thing both sides narrative which gave way to extreme apathy in most people's minds which gave way to the stupid belief that apolitical people spew that "Trump's just doing what they all do out in the open" I've heard people say who then feel proud of themselves for being a non voter and above politics.

These. It's disgusting that letting evil get away with everything is a bad habit of America.

It's also disgusting that some will be more mad at Democrats being criticized for their actions or inactions than them letting war criminals and insurrectionists get away with thier crimes repeatedly.

The most powerful and active vice president in modern US history. Left quite the legacy. He died without paying for his crimes, but he also died knowing he contributed to what the Republican party eventually became today.

Because Dick Cheney, as horrible a person he was, was not really a grifter. An opportunistic scumbag, to be sure, but not a grifter. It is incredibly sad that, compared to the crypto-coin grifting current President who has literally been selling pardons to people who back his cryptocurrency, Dick Cheney would actually be somehow *better*

But still. I'm not going to *celebrate* Dick Cheney's death, but neither am I going to say anything great about him either. He got our country involved in an endless war which dragged on for a decade, killed hundreds of thousands of civilians as a result, created a power vacuum in the Middle East, indirectly spurred on the rise of a vile terrorist organization, and got thousands of American soldiers killed. This, by the way, was a war that he *opposed* back in 1991.
