Kanz, he does not do lulz damage. He does ridiculous damage. Stack as much armor as you want by level 7, level 3 spear + arpen runes + brutalizer does respectable damage. Don't stack armor and actually try to be useful against anyone besides pantheon and his damage is crazy.

that's it

You don't need to stack armor. A single clothie stops him from doing true damage unless you're Vayne or something. And I didn't say he does lulz damage, what I said was that his damage is significantly cut down and suddenly it's not at all profitable for him to dive for damage. Pantheon folds really, really hard if he has to face a burly man on bot. Garen for instance tears him a new one.

In a poll? Both easily, dat SFF would kill the others
You really think 50%+ prefer Link over every FFVII character not named Cloud? It's spreading himself too thin.

Especially if you throw Sephiroth into the equation.

Link didn't even get 50%+ that many times in 4-way matches, much less when you make it a 10-way.

If Sephiroth isn't included, definitely. That's a bonafide Ninty vs. Square situation, and the smart money is on Ninty for sure.

If he's included then yeah, FF7 cast probably wins.

I want link in the bracket still. I am inherently opposed to the idea of removing champions to make the bracket more "interesting".

I think it would be pretty UNinteresting to see someone run the table and then have no idea how they stack up to the "real" characters.

We can always take the MPFC approach and do a gauntlet at the end IMO. Link has a much, much, MUCH better record than anybody else by a long shot. I think that making him the bonus match is pretty fair, even if we miss out on some silliness like him vs. Santa or whatever. We've reached the point where Mario, Samus, and Snake ALL have a chance to beat Cloud and take the crown, and the field is more even now than ever before (as the Near Elites have a chance to beat the low noble-niners, Sonic and Mega Man could do something interesting if put up against Sephiroth or Snake, we've yet to see where the Post-ME2 Shepard and Post-BW Pokeymanz will go, etc. etc. etc.). Link is really the only big problem - there's maybe two characters who could put up a respectable showing against him because of SFF, so he really just eats up half the bracket en route to another win. No need to see that again, really.

Every pantheon goes with armor pen runes and rushes brutalizer so your armor runes are laughable. Heartseeker being spammable and spear shot crit at low health makes him an absolute assassin. Lots of fun. Ermine all the Skarners i've seen kick ass. They're so hard to kill with just triforce

Right, because you start with 1.3k. At first level you can have something like 27 ArPen. Using Ashe as a base, you can open with armor yellows and get to 24, and this is on a squishy carry. On anybody else, if you tack a clothie + pots on top panth does lol damage.

Stopping your roll cold, you glare at Etta. She's good, and more experienced than you, but deep inside, you *know* you are stronger, and won't give up without a fight. You concentrate, and the air around Etta seems to bend for a moment as she takes aim.

[Henrietta HP remaining: 131/150]

Her eyes turn briefly orange, however, and the crushing force that surrounded her disappears.

"Lesson One, newbie: twisting reality is something *every* practitioner learns to do!" She taunts, before squeezing the Lucky Seven's trigger again. Distracted by your attempt at crushing her with your willpower as you are, you don't have time to dodge...

...But the bond between you and your Sprite turns a deep blue, and the bullet bounces off you harmlessly instead, as a small hole appears on its body. It nods at you, and you realize that as long as it can fight, it will do its best to protect you.

[Battle Theme 2, Warriors of the Hand:

You hesitate for a moment, unsure on how to proceed. Are you supposed to go all-out on Etta, like you did with the Dullahan, or try to subdue her without injuring her?

The Sprite makes that decision for you, as it hops into the air and expands. Alright, you can't back down now that somebody's made the first move. As the Sprite prepares to strike, you feel something within you reach out to it, and a vibrantly red thread extends from you to the Sprite, changing its color from a soft pink to a deep crimson.

Then, the Sprite explodes into a shower of bubbles, which Etta manages to dodge by floating downwards. She smirks.

[Sprite Physical Damage increased by 25%!]

"Nice trick, now have some of THIS." Lifting her gun up, she takes aim and fires. You hear the crack of thunder, and roll away on instinct, as a bullet whizzes past your head. That was a close call...a very close one.

A) "Sure."

"It's on, then." Etta gives you a wolfish smile, as she produces a pillbox from one of her pockets, along with a handgun. A really big handgun.

...On second thought, handgun is too small a term for it. "Hand cannon", or "Headripper" might be more appropriate terms. You can't help but feel a little nervous at the sight of it. Big guns aren't exactly what you had in mind when Etta mentioned sparring. She notices your nervousness, and hands you a little spherical pink pill. "Don't worry, newbie. I'm not going to shoot *you* with the Lucky Seven. Just gulp that down and we'll get started." She looks at the Sprite and then at Godric, inquiringly, but the latter shakes his head. In response, Etta nods, silently. You're not sure what they just discussed, and you don't think now is the best time to ask. As your muscles tighten with tension, you swallow the little pill. Etta promptly does the same...

...And you feel your body begin to rise...

...And rise...

...And rise, until you find yourself hovering above your own body, looking down upon the room, the Sprite still on your shoulder. You notice that both your skins have a pink, slightly glowing tone to them. An instant later, Etta appears in front of you, both hands on the Lucky Seven, and nods.

"Alright, newbie. It's time to see what you and your Sprite are made of."

A) "Why is my Sprite so special? It's just a newborn."

Fallon gives you a look that suggests he thinks you're pulling his leg for a moment, before realizing you're entirely serious.

"You mean you really don't know? Oh, that's just perfect. I spend a day every week hard at work trying to bind an Elemental for three years, and you managed to do it without even knowing about their capabilities right around the time you awoke to your powers." He mutters something, disgruntled, and Godric steps up to the plate.

"An Elemental being tied to a master is considered to be Empathic, and has the potential to grow in power with its master's experiences. Empathic Elementals feed off of powerful emotions, like fear, rage, bliss, and lust, and how its masters interact with them. Those emotions, combined with an appropriate handling of the Elemental, can turn them into vicious killing machines, or beings even smarter than the most intelligent men on earth, and nobler than most saints to boot. This is particularly true for Sprites like that little creature, as the element of Water is the one most deeply associated with emotions. Over time, Elementals begin to resemble their masters in outlook, and sometimes even in appearance. That Sprite may be small and not that strong right now, but given how we Knights live our lives on the fast lane, it'll soon become much more fearsome and capable, particularly if you spend time tending to it." The Sprite nods in agreement with Godric's words, though you noticed that it vehemently shook its head when he said it was none too strong.

Meanwhile, Etta leers at the little creature. "I've never seen one from up close...hey, newbie, got a question for you."

21) "I haven't had much contact with Empathic Elementals before, and I'd like to know what they're capable off. Fancy sparring a little bit with me? I'll take you two on."
A) "Sure."
B) "No way."
C) "Couldn't we do something else instead of sparring? Like trading kisses instead of blows?"

I finally get how Morde works - he's really not a champ to pick if your team can't back him up, but if you have a competent support he's a facemelter because he can go full AP and burst harder than most dedicated casters while never dying. Feels good to finally improve my game! :D

...and stop dead in your tracks, as you take the outlandish vision of what looks like a few blocks worth of ruined city in. The alcove you're currently on overlooks it, and you can see dim reddish flares illuminating the devastated plazas and collapsed buildings below. Henrietta and Fallon are there, the former busy painting another picture (this one a smiling girl with brown eyes and pigtails, painted in a rather cartoony style. She looks a bit like Henrietta herself, but it isn't her, you think), the latter busy leaning over the alcove's railing to study the scene below.

"Etta, Trip, what're you doing down here? I know you two are keen on training, but not so much you need to come down here just to enjoy the thrilling vista. "

"Shut it, Rick." Henrietta responds, not even turning her eyes away from her painting. There's no malice in her voice, however, and you can see the hint of a smile on her face.

"One of these days you need to read some poetry and borrow a couple expressions from it. I don't get how you can paint so marvelously and yet speak so plainly." Godric says, shaking his head, before continuing. "Anyway, look who decided to join up with us. He's another book lover, so maybe we'll be able to make you two be more cultured and refined together." He exchanges a wink with you. Upon hearing this, Fallon turns his attention toward you, and opens his mouth...but before he can say anything, the Sprite leaps out of your backpack onto your shoulder, and takes a little bow. He sucks in a little air and whistles admiringly.

"Well, I'll be damned. If you were keeping that Elemental hidden just to impress us kid, mission accomplished." The other two look similarly surprised, and Godric's next glance at you is filled with both respect and cautiousness.

"No wonder you managed to dispatch that Dullahan. That's an impressive ace you got up your sleeve. I've been trying for three years already, and not even a wisp's answered my calls." You briefly entertain the idea that Fallon must be speaking of something else, but there isn't much room for doubt. Apparently, the little Sprite is much more powerful than you thought.

"We must've hit the jackpot with him. That little tyke is going to be a huge help the next time we hit the field." Henrietta says, nodding in agreement. "Anyway, like Rick told you a while back, my name's Henrietta, but don't call me that if you don't want a bloodied nose. My mother was a cruel, vindictive person. Call me Etta instead." She gives you a very quick hug as she speaks.

"As for me, you don't have to call me anything special, kid." Fallon says, offering you his hand. "Rick and Etta call me Trip, but I've no shame about my name."

20) "I'm sure you're brimming with questions, so fire away. What's on your mind right now?"
A) "Why is my Sprite so special? It's just a newborn."
B) "What is this room about? Isn't it supposed to be a training course?"

D) Look for the other Knights and introduce yourself to them.

"So...anyway..." Godric says, after a brief but uncomfortable pause. "Want to go find the other guys and tell them the news? They must be itching to know what's up."

After a moment's consideration, you nod. You were already thinking about getting to know your new colleagues, so Godric's ideas are in line with your own.

"Great. Looks like somebody's at the training course. Let's take a look, see if we can find the others there." Godric leads you to the open door on the other side. Past it is a long flight of concrete stairs leading down. At the bottom there is another door, also open, and you can hear people chattering in the room beyond. You step in...

Mr. L lets out a sigh of relief, and much of his worry drains from his features. He shakes your hand.

"My dear boy, you have no idea how glad I am that you made the right call. You'll do good things here. Great things." Overcoming his enthusiasm at last, Mr. L takes a step back and gestures in your direction while beaming at Godric. "Godric, please allow me to introduce you to the Hand's latest Knight. Given how he's such a pleasant young, I assume you've become friends already?"

Godric shuffles in place a little and looks down, scratching the back of his neck as he does so. "Yeah, he's a pretty nice guy, Mr. L. Anybody who's into books earns points with me, after all." Though he gives you an encouraging smile, he looks and sounds like he isn't all that happy about it.

"Now, please allow me to lay down the ground rules." Mr. L says, taking the little book you saw before out of his left coat pocket and handing it over to you. "As a Knight, you have access to the firm's funds for the purposes of acquiring equipment for your missions, as well as paying for expenses incurred while setting out to fix the world. You also have full access to this basement's facilities, though the other basements are off limits. We keep our secret weapons in there." He winks at you conspiratorially, and continues. "Whenever we need you for a mission, we will contact you, either by phone or in person, and inform you of the details of the operation. You'll find more details within the membership manual, but I must stress that what you have signed up for is just a job. Nothing more, and nothing less. You *must not* let this become your life, no matter how earth-shattering the threats you face are. The best way to survive the supernatural is to stay alert, but the best way to do so unscathed is to remain solidly grounded in reality. Take some pretty girls out. Spend some time on your hobbies. You're in school still, are you not? Do not neglect your peers and tests either." Mr. Lotwyver speaks with absolute conviction as he cautions you against becoming to invested in your duties as a member of HT&L, Inc. It's clear he wants you to do your best, but not to the point of obsession.

"In any case, now that I know I can leave the city in good hands, I must bid my adieu. Take care, my Knights, and keep fighting the good fight until I return!" With that, Mr. Lotwyver steps back to the Impregnable's entry room, and the open elevator. Before leaving, however, he peeks his head back inside the corridor.

"Oh, yes, and I nearly forgot to mention this, but your first commission for the job with the Dullahan has already been sent to your home. You'll have a pleasant surprise when you come back to it. And now, I really must be going!" Instants later, you hear the sound of the elevator doors closing. Meanwhile, Godric looks a little ashamed.

"He's...eccentric. Not a bad person, but sometimes I feel like he's trying to be our father and not our employer." He says, looking at the door through which Mr. L left. Thinking about your patron's demeanor, you can't help but think he's on to something. Remembering Mr. Lotwyver's words, you glance down at your watch and see that it's already past midday. Time's flown since you first entered the building.

19) You have accepted Mr. Lotwyver's offer and are now one of his Knights. What will your first actions as a Knight be?
A) Peruse the manual you just received from your patron.
B) Retreat to the library again and continue your research with Godric's help. [Specify Subject]
C) Take a full tour of the Impregnable's facilities and see what the job's perks are.
D) Look for the other Knights and introduce yourself to them.
E) Other. [Specify]

That is just amazingly ironic.

And speaking of which...

"im carry"

(and yes, shaco had more kills, but that's because I was pulling the trundle with 300 AD, 3k HP and 300 resists along with his whole team while he was going rip****. Supercarry Jax FTW!)

Admittedly the jungle doesn't have many creeps to farm for his Q but it's better than laning against someone who can absolutely deny you. From what I hear they fixed his wither as well. Hopefully they lower the mana cost so wither is actually usable in lane. Starting with a sapphire crystal would give you enough mana to harass enemies if they got too close. Who knows i'll have to test all this out. I'm just glad they're remembering about some of the less played champs

Yeah, Nasus' issue is that pretty much anybody can deny him and kill him. This makes him super weak in lane, and the jungle fixes that somewhat.

A) Go out to meet him.

You step out of the library room and are greeted by an absent-minded Mr. Lotwyver.

"Just the person I was hoping to see." He says, the humor and jolliness having vanished from his voice. "Young man, I'll be honest with you. A rather pressing matter has come up, and I will be forced to leave for the next few days very soon." You exchange a glance with Godric, who looks as though he's used to this sort of proclamation. "I'm sorry to ask so brusquely, but I need an answer. Will you join our little team, or will you seek your own path?" His voice has an edge to it that you haven't heard before. He sounds...tense. Distressed. Worried, even.

You pause for a moment to consider what you've learned from Godric and the library's books. You notice the question reflected in his eyes, before turning your attention to the corridor at large. You realize that you're concentrating on small details, like the open door on the far end, because it helps you stay calm and focused, able to make the decision dispassionately, rationally.

18) How will you answer Mr. L's question?
A) "I'm in."
B) "Count me out. This isn't my kind of job."

A) Ask what his last mission was.

"Oh man, it's been such a long time since we went out into the field. Must have been like...wow, five or six months already. The other world's been pretty quiet as of late." Godric says, frowning, as he delves into his memory. "We had to deal with a Water practitioner, capable of manipulating emotions, who'd raised himself a nice little cult who thought of him as god. Had a bunch of spirits with him, too, though thankfully not too strong." He shivers a little. "It was almost a bloodbath. We had to trample through the first line of defense without stopping or we would have died, and if Etta hadn't blown his head off with a rifle round, we'd have been forced to deal with a huge mob of angry, controlled people and their supernatural hounds. They had this...lost look on their faces. Like they couldn't see where they were going but had to keep moving anyway. That's the bad part of the job, you know. You get all the glamour and paid expenses here, but when you head out you come face to face with the worst type of scum, those who aren't afraid to hurt others for their own gain, and who have the power to do so." A quiet anger fills his voice as he speaks. Clearly, what he's seen has left him disgusted, and maybe a little bit afraid - but he's not the type of man who'll back down, particularly after having become aware of the lunatics at large, wreaking havoc with impunity, aided by their powers. "At least helping the victims come back to society was easy. Boring, but easy. The cult leader's control was very subtle and required constant renewal to maintain itself. Once he died the cultists went back to being themselves quickly enough.

So yeah. That's how the job goes. We find a bad guy, come in guns blazing, take them down while trying not to harm any innocents, then make sure normalcy is restored with as little fuss as possible. You never get used to it, but after the first few times you become desensitized. Grows into a routine."

Just then, you hear a knock on the door, and a familiar voice comes through. "Young man? Are you in there? I wish to speak with you."

Godric looks at you, surprised. "Huh. Mr L's back already. Didn't he say he had to deal with some matters? Usually, he goes out of town for a few days when he says something like that."

17) Mr. Lotwyver is waiting for you outside. What will you do about it?
A) Go out to meet him.
B) Ask Godric to cover you and tell him you're not there, then try to sneak out of the building.
C) Stay in the room, looking for more information on the supernatural and the firm.

B) Ask him for help in finding more information on your potential employer.

Your pursuits haven't been too fruitful; Perhaps someone more acquainted to this library will be able to find something you missed. You respond to Godric's call, and relay your intentions to him. As he takes them in, he puts a hand to his chin and looks down to the floor, penseively.

"Hmm...no, I don't think we have anything beyond the log of activities, not from Mr. L. I know he keeps a real journal back at his home, but I've never had a chance to take a peek at it." You feel slightly defeated as Godric confirms your suspicions. It must have showed on your face, too, as his expression changes and he pats you in the back.

"Hey, cheer up. I know the feeling of being confused and unsure about what to do. I was green once upon a time, and didn't know whether to trust the weird man who runs this operation, but I decided to take the plunge and I haven't regretted it since. You get to see interesting sights, talk to interesting people...and do some good. It could be a lot worse." His eyes don't waver as he speaks, and neither does his voice. Godric seems to sincerely believe that he's doing a good thing here.

"Tell you what. If you've got any questions about the job, just ask me and I'll see if I can't clear things up a bit. Mr. L can be very cryptic at times, but I have no reason to act all mysterious and powerful. If you join, we'll be colleagues and equals after all."

A ding can be heard from outside the room, and the sound of the elevator doors opening follows.

16) Godric's made you an interesting offer. What will your response be?
A) Ask him a question. [Please Specify]
B) Excuse yourself and check out who's come into the Impregnable.

I could also queue up with this really brbrbrbrbr low elo guy I know because he's actually really good even though he's sorta huehuehuehue and we're always up against baddies and roflstomp. I won a ranked game with him where the only melee on my team was shaco and we godstomped them.

Coward, come play with me and witness the magnificence of the lady of clockwork (if I feel like mega tryharding)

Bit late to this but you guys are wrong. Jax is tied with Orianna for most powerful early laner...WHICH WAS THE SAME PROBLEM KAYLE HAD (SUCK IT REALO). I've actually got his full page, and nobody can beat being hit for 200 damage in a single instant while you just walk away. It's really really stupid. If you manage to farm with him inbetween killing people and avoid committing while the jungler is coming for you he's a facemelter.
