-En route to Omnian Territory, encountered a massive ship, Gladiator Joe's Arena. -There, Valerian spotted Burson. Wanting to inquire about his liveliness and about Forget, he approached him alongside Brona. -Burson was unwilling to talk much, but revealed that he was now part of the Crisis Band, the group Valerian used to belong to. He promised to speak, but only if the group convinced them of their prowess. -Defeated multiple enemies, then defeated the Han D&D PCs, sans Lora. -Brona received Vega's Dagger, a potent artifact. -Returned to Burson, who asked the party to stop Castor, the Fifth Hand of Omna, from selling her out. -Following Valerian's plan, Castor and his entourage were gassed to death. Yes, really. -Castor tried to escape, having escaped the attempt on his life, but Euri grabbed him and he plummeted to his death. -Met Winter, who was distressed upon hearing about Castor's death, and now wholeheartedly believes in Rael's plan. -With Castor's plans in hand, the group bargained with Winter. In the end, Amy asked to see Rael to speak with him. -What went on with Rael is unknown, but Amy is entirely opposed to Rael and believes in stopping him now. -Valerian cut an ultimatum deal and Winter drifted away. The session ended on a somber note, with Euri potentially ready to leave the group.
From: HeroDelTiempo17 | #179 I'm not saying it couldn't be anyone else, just that Gamzee has a shot at the title. Gazmee created both Cal and the jester doll that gave John nightmares, for example. Those caused a lot of events in the story to go down.
Of course, that happened because Dave was manipulated into driving Gamzee crazy by the Condesce. Then again, that only happened because Lord English trained her as his protege, which only happened because Scratch facilitated his summoning, which only happened because Lil Cal was there to spawn him.
"The most important character" is kind of hard to determine when causes and effects blur together like that. <_<
And this is why. When you can contest it, the character isn't the most important.
tcaz2 posted... From: KanzarisKelshen | #171 What if, in a multiverse where everything happens at the same time, some things *don't*? I don't really see any evidence for this so far, but okay, I suppose it's plausible.
As plausible as anything gets in Homestuck anyway.
It's not about plausible, because I'm not formatting a theory based on evidence. I'm going with a random hunch because hey, random hunches of mine have preempted a ton of what Hussie did with Janeworld.
From: tcaz2 | #156 (3:48:23 AM) tcaz3: so I'm thinking (3:48:24 AM) tcaz3: actually (3:48:45 AM) tcaz3: uu/UU are on Earth, in the Roxy (and possibly Dirk) timeframe (3:48:53 AM) tcaz3: and there will be TWO Sburb sessions on Earth we follow (3:49:01 AM) tcaz3: and that's why there's a reckoning (3:49:29 AM) tcaz3: since we pretty much can guess at this point the reckoning won't happen in the kids game (3:49:52 AM) tcaz3: so we need something else to visibly start it that we follow and cause the exiles to show up on Roxy's (and possibly Dirk's) timeframe
It would make sense, after all if meteors still hit earth thinking about it, since we know multiple games go on at the same time, so no meteors on earth actually doesn't make sense and I didn't think about it at the time.
Edited to fix some derp moments I had in the actual conversation I said this in.
Better theory: Pockets of linear time and a universe of paradox time.
From: Sceptilesolarbeam | #320 I'd actually intended Queen as more sympathetic than Eren, but whatever, I guess.
Oh, she definitely was, though. At least, as I see it. But Eren was still a better character. The problem with Queen was that she was an ends justify the means character who we didn't really have the ability to argue with. She was just so far above our level that trying to argue with her didn't have any bite, so it didn't get as involved. Getting mad at Eren's passivity was easy and fun.
Basically this. There's a bunch of characters (Rael, Learrette when she had Vivi in her pocket, Aluxial) who are really simply set on 'I dislike them because they're jerks'. We can't really act like we *want* to act here, because if we do we TPK. Characters who are vaguely on our level make for a much more interesting opposition, because not only can we get into a dialectic battle with them, but we can also sway them, fight them, or stop them. A character who is at plot device level is indeed just a plot device in the end - I honestly have no strong feelings against Rael in spite of how vicious he is because he's so massively overpowered. He's a force of nature, and no sane being hates a force of nature, just its consequences.
From: Sceptilesolarbeam | #312 How come you hate Queen? I thought she was okay, though looking at it honestly she was kind of a rehash of Eren without the desire for payback mixed in.
Queen was an interesting character, but also a despicable one. Narratively, Learrette is a top tier character because we really REALLY hate her guts. Emotionally, she's bottom tier because she's a monster. Same with Queen.
From: Luis_Sera89 | #013 As has been mentioned, diving isn't allowed, and is a cautionable offence; the technical term for it is Simulation. Opinion on it very much seems to differ depending on culture though. In somewhere like the UK, the practice of it is derided, and fans and players are critical of it, although this isn't to say that some players or managers aren't privately apathetic of it if it wins matches. In other parts of the world though, particularly Latin countries, it's considered part of the game. Players are praised for their 'skill' in deceiving referees.
Only some though. In other countries it's definitely frowned because it's crazily scummy.
From: shadosneko | #298 I'd say pirates are cooler.
Gladiators are only badass because they're strong, greased up men, but a band of misfits, who all have their own personalities, that use tactics and special equipment and stuff like that, are way cooler.
****
So another band of adventurers? Get ready for the rumble of the century guys.
So I was talking with Omega...and now we totally need to find the Dagger of Prince Vega Burai. Scep, Anagram and Omega know what i'm talking about. A mint dragonzord would be just too perfect. :P
BTW CPU, a small note: Your Inspiring Word power upgraded three levels ago. You should roll 2d6 for extra heals for it, not 1d6. It'll upgrade to 3d6 at level 11.
From: Anagram | #025 Sceptilesolarbeam posted... I just said, don't pick one of the dumb backgrounds like Born under a Bad Sign. Skill/language effects are good backgrounds rather than the OP Scales of War stuff.
Where can I find backgrounds, then?
Player's Handbook 2 first introduced modern backgrounds IIRC. You can find them in most books. Themes are a different story though.
Hey Lisel, can you add something to your vent investigation? See how much time it'd take somebody to traverse from place to place using the vents. If you can't amend it, I'll add an investigation that covers precisely that, just in case.
Actions Template:
07:00 Kanzaris investigates the elevator to the trial room. Keep results private. If the elevator appears to be operational, under no circumstances go up and take a look.
08:00 Kanzaris takes care of basic necessities (eating, drinking, cleaning up).
Probably! Would be pretty neat, though I'm not sure if anybody else is available.
PS: Incidentally guys, I'm working on something since CPU mentioned a need for an OP. We'll see if I can get results out of my meager Audacity skills. :P

...Oh, come on, I go to sleep at 3 in the the morning and I still miss something like this? >_<
-Boon of the Fading One, Dragon 389. -Badge of the Berserker +2, Adventurer's Vault 2. -Shard of Merciless Cold +3, Eberron Player's Guide. -Dice of Auspicious Fortune, Dragon 381. -Avalanche Boots, Adventurer's Vault 2. -Backlash Tattoo, Adventurer's Vault 2. -Defensive Step Training, Dungeon Master's Guide 2. -Battle Standard of the Hungry Blade, Dragon 381 -Prison of Salzacas, Adventurer's Vault 2. -Power Jewel, Adventurer's Vault. -Ruby Scabbard, Adventurer's Vault.
That list looks way longer than it has any right to be, considering like half of it is actually buyable right now. Gotta catch up on that item backlog, I guess!

EDIT: Oh yeah, and we still have 47% of our Residuum stock to spend. Just jotting this down because it's a big deal.

Everybody got 37.8k to spend, BTW. Make sure to add the money left over after buying things to the sheets!
PS: Additionally, 1000 XP for everybody. Good session, guys!
From: PrivateBiscuit1 | #024 Well, I practiced some combos. I guess my problem is getting in though. It's always been my problem with this game. Anyone have advice for that?
First thing is that last bullet point above. If you can't cover tons of distance with dashes forget about it. Beyond that, you need somebody who can buy you time to close in safely. What assists are you using ATM?
From: SovietOmega | #254 disenchant magic item can be done on magic items of amy's level or lower. unless we wanna not care too strongly about that, because this isn't probably the most normal intent of the thing >_>;;
the way i see it, hax item comes into play, might as well hax it out just the same...
Yeah, this seems logical to me. It gets rid of the item neatly. Otherwise we might as well beeline for the Pocket Universe island and see if the Drow are still around and willing to help.
