What is IP again?
IP is the other kind of points you earn when you play matches. You earn both XP and IP and IP are the points that you use to purchase runes and champions. Yes, that’s right, you have to "buy" the champions, but you get the points for free so its not a bad deal. (You can also spend real money on champion packs if you would rather not take the time to earn them) The point is that you get the IP for free so you should figure out which champions you are good with and spend it on those. When you buy a champion you will have it unlocked on your account forever. And if you don't buy ANY champions, you will still have access to 10 of them. Every week there are 10 "free" champions. But they are only free for the week and 10 different champions will be free the next week. And so if you are level 1 you still have 10 champions available to you and so try them out, figure out which one you might like to spend points on and then buy it.

And so IP is good for Champions and Runes. You can also spend *real money* to unlock champions but you can NOT unlock runes with real money, only IP and so runes have to be earned.

To sum up:
You have an account that goes up to level 30 (this is your summoner level)
You earn XP (to level up the account) and IP (to buy champions/runes) every time you play a match
You have rune pages (with up to 30 slots)
You have a mastery page to spec (with up to 30 points) (and you can respec as much as you want)

This is probably a bit over-kill and so if something doesn’t quite make sense just ask and someone will clarify. And if you are going to start playing please post:
(1) Your GameFAQs name
(2) Your Summoner name (this is different than your log-in name)
(3) Your preferred champions. It’s just nice to know which champions people prefer to play or use the most.

And please BOLD THE INFORMATION so we will see it and update the list accordingly.

What is League of Legends?
League of Legends is a team game very similar to the WarCraft 3 custom map DotA. There are two bases, one on either side of the map and several "lanes" between the bases along which AI controlled units spawn. An overhead view of the 5v5 map looks about like this:
external image

There is a base in the bottom left, and a base in the top right. 3 lanes connect the two bases and every 30 seconds AI controlled "minions" spawn in each lane. Everyone who is in the game controls 1 "champion" unit and your job as a team is to push your lanes and destroy the opposing base. The lanes are protected by turrets and so you need your own minions along side you to be able to kill the turrets without getting targeted by them. 2 bases, 3 lanes, 5 players per team. There is also The Crystal Scar, the map currently used for the Dominion game mode. The Dominion overhead view looks like this:

external image

What are Champions?
Champions are the powerful units that you get to control. You pick 1 before the map loads and that is the champion you will use for that match. Champions start each match at level 1 their max level is 18. The important thing to consider is the stats of the champion you select will be affected by the level of your account.

What do 'account-levels' have to do with anything?
When you create an account you have a level 1 account. That is called your 'Summoner Level'. You are the summoner, and the champion you select for the match is the 'summoned'. You increase your summoner level by playing matches. Every match you play will earn you XP and IP. Earning enough XP will increase your summoner level with the max level being 30. Wins are worth more XP/IP than losses, so try to win. Your summoner level also determines:
(1) How many runes you can slot and
(2) How many mastery points you can allot

If you are low leveled still and playing by yourself then the game will try and pair you against similarly leveled opponents, but if you are playing with higher leveled friends then it will seek higher leveled opponents. Just something to consider when you start learning how to play.

That wasn't even an issue. The thing was that everybody derped super hard there and forgot to say 'yo, I'm hitting the walls.'. Had we done that the walls would have disappeared less than halfway through the fight.

From: IhatethisCPU | #093
Honestly, it was between Sam and Atti, but I remembered the "Down to 1 HP in two attacks, and then 100 damage leading to not even close to being bloodied" thing. >_>'

To be fair, the same happened with Eren. It's just that we got the hilarious shenanigans where I refused to drop my sword but kept bombing my saves in return beforehand. Me and Brona really need to coordinate our killy better. If we work together we can pump out a cool 250 damage but that's gonna be harder now that I don't have access to the Exile to give him some extra damage through shock spiral pushes.

I think part of the problem might be how 'thrilling' the Shursh fight was.

That fight was awesome, yo. Getting to execute that bigass multicharacter combo was just so fun.

Really, the reason I don't want to fight a Brute boss is simply because that's a grudge match. That's Valerian's schtick (same as Vance's is Soldier, Amy's is Controller, Brona's is Artillery, and Euri's is Leader Major Soldier Minor), so if I'm gonna have a fight with an evil counterpart I want to fight a counterpart that's been sufficiently hyped up to make it personal. Otherwise I want to face a fun challenge that tests my strengths in unusual situations, like Sonya.

i understand your point, but we are not dealing with objective facts here, we are dealing with a stylization of the facts as presented by hussie and kan. we have the liberty to create a time travel system however we deem fit, with kan's approval. why not combine our efforts to hammer something tangible out of this borderline flame war rather than devolve into name calling?

But I was dealing with objective facts...

Well, I don't really care what time system Kanz ends up using. It's just a work of fiction, it doesn't matter to me even if it's blatantly nonsensical if it's good storytelling. I just like discussing time travel in a practical sense.

as do i, but it is becoming more clear that we are not going to see eye to eye on the issue without innumerable posts wasted on the subject. i figured a time travel discussion might help hammer out ways a hero of time could work, then reality was called into question and nothing was something and paradoxes were everywhere.

i maintain that a time travel system that allows for transmission of information or items from what amounts to the ether is nonsensical but can accept its occurrence in this fictional work, though it would be nothing but a pain to sort things out. though time travel on the whole will be a pain inducing exercise unless a system is ironed out that works.

Information is not subject to entropy and thus possible. Items are the caveat, admittedly.

But yeah, to explain some stuff: As I said, time travel is not loopy in Twostuck. The Sburbopolis system never, EVER loops. Everything that looks like a loop is a timeline remake. Yes, you read that correctly. Basically imagine a mix of For Want of A Nail and Back to the Future and you got it. This isn't All You Zombies by any stretch.

PS: There's also some anti-time****ery safeguards in there, but not nearly enough to make me willing to go into time travel just yet. I have done, and still am doing tons of research into time traveling to see if I can come up with a nonrestrictive time travel method that will not crack my game to pieces.

It does. An imbalance in a zero-sum environment.

What is 'it'?

There are causes and there are effects. The effects of causes give rise to possibilities. Information can be wrestled from this arrangement, but only if the information is relatively close to the same branches of possibility one is traveling on. For instance, a Hero of Time might relay some intel that the black king has an intense hatred of baconators. In some other permutation of cause and effect, the black king might instead have a hatred of bicycles. Relaying the one bit of information when it is actually the other in the timeline we are observing does not benefit the Hero of Time much. This is a blessing and a curse depending on the task at hand, for some things will be more generally similar across possibilities than others.

Now you're just proposing alternate timelines, which is a different, equally consistent theory.

Pretty sure the origin of everything is not something we have adequate proof of one way or the other. This view invokes a number of presuppositions that may or may not be generally true.

Well, obviously we don't have proof of anything, but I assume by your line of argument that you would agree with my claim. Therefore objecting that it's unknown is pretty meaningless.

Everything. It has an origin.

What's the answer to 'my future self from after winning the game goes back and hands me his final weapon'?

What's the answer to 'I kill an imp and travel back while gristtorrent distributes my grist, then do it again until we all have infinite money'?

What's the answer to 'the time player is doing more than everybody else and making it the time show because I have to keep leashing him 24/7'?

1. Assuming 'beat the game' future self is part of the alpha timeline, then he did not go back and give himself the ultimate weapon because that would create a diverging timeline, aka not alpha, aka doomed timeline. If he DID receive such a weapon, then the weapon came from nowhere and is thus a paradox and thus a doomed timeline. The problem solves itself.

2. Anti-temporal grist economy inflation countermeasures built into the gristtorrent program

3. The piles and piles of dead selves piling up. In piles. Alternatively: technobabble induced temporal interference >_>;; "If you time travel again the quantum instability of the tachyons will accelerate and cause an irreversible chain reaction causing everything everywhere to blow up"

Spoilers: There are no doomed timelines in this game, and it isn't because of 'perfect' play.

1. can't dictate the action of an offscreen future self. you have to play the all of actions that lead up to your character becoming them

2. imps have a single store of grist associated with their being that stands outside the flow of time that doesn't regenerate

3. crack skulls

1) Then you can't time travel at all. Which I'm fine with but it's not what the time player wants.

2) This is actually feasible, but it also runs counter to pre-established rules. Can't use it, but it's a good idea. :-/

3) Heh.

You're not building AS for his damage. You're building it for the same reason you put it on Shen; they have passives that make their base AD pointless.

Nautilus is about getting in there popping up squishes, pulling people off the carry, and spamming AOE damage. His AOE damage goes up immensely with Ionic Spark or Nashor's.

He, I saw Dyrus throw WOTA on him and even that's better than the current build. Skarner can go straight tank be because LOL Q spam. Mundo can go straight tank becausse LOL E. Nautilus needs either AP on his E or attack speed on his W. Nashor's gives both.

But you don't need AS. You're going to get your rootshot on regardless of AS. So don't build it.

I see everyone building Phreak's build and they suck and do no damage at all.

His W does AOE damage on every attack. His passive procs on multiple targets. No one is building attack speed. Not one Wits end. Not one Ionic Spark which boosts his W in speed and health and aoe, or, being a little creative, the new nashor's tooth- AP AS Cooldown.

It's like people are so set in specific items and not willing to try things

This is because he has super low base realo. He will hit at 0.75 AS with a Nashor's or Ionic Spark.

Easy solution for time inclusion:

Kan: With every other enemy placated, you approach the final boss. As you draw closer, you notice a figure you have never seen before. The figure waves and starts to introduce themselves, BUT SUDDENLY THE FINAL BOSS GOBBLES THE FIGURE UP. As the game starts crumbling around the confused heroes, the final boss speaks to the party:

"I am not your enemy! It was always time. Now the game will end and you all can go do something with your lives for a change"

The fourth wall among the first casualty, Kan will instantly dissolve the aim blast group and join 10 dnd campaigns

</end>

Truly it could end no other way!

haw haw haw

But seriously, I have my own ideas for Time. I have had to think long and hard about it, and in fact I've run with the idea of forcing myself to readjust every step of the way. Giving Zach the choice of selecting Time as an Aspect was a gamble, because I bet that Boner wouldn't do it. I guessed correctly, and I cannot thank him enough for it. Had he proven me wrong I'd have been forced to massively scramble to get a working plotline. As it is right now, my original plan for Time still stands, but I am still toying with the options I can give you to derail it.

PS: But seriously, I've treated that Aspect like live uranium. It really has the same potential to blow up on my face and ruin everything if I am not careful with it.

Just did trial run Shen.

Armor Pen Reds(dont have AS yet)
Armor yellows
MR blues
Attack Speed Quints(dont have flat health yet)

0/12/18(Get the minion defenses and the health stuff or the health regen to make your sustain even dumber. In the utility tree the energy makes a HUGE difference as does the gold per level)

Start Doran's or Crystal. Either way you jungle at near max health all day. Get Heart of Gold and Boots. Get Giants Belt. Get Wit's End. Then go Warmogs or Ionic Spark.

It's hilarious either way. 250 damage Ki Strike Procs on a guy with a Shield that procs it faster. GLORIOUS SHEN

Saint vicious just did trial run with new Shen.

STUPID DAMAGE. He started Dorans Shield in the jungle and didn't lose any HP. Feint makes the cooldown on Ki Strike a joke. One Giants Belt and he had nearly 100 damage Ki Strikes procing every 2-3 seconds. Wits End for second item made it even funnier.

Lastly, taunt energy renewal is scary. You taunt, do damage, reduce damage, have enough energy to shield and just Ki Strike like a boss.

For anyone wondering the runes it was the following:

Attack speed reds
Armor yellows
Mr blues
Flat health quints

9/21/0 taking attack speed tree. He plowed through the jungle at speeds slower than God Tier but he also did it with full health and a Dorans Shield

Know what's really, really funny? Both me and Sytha called this way in advance. I'm just waiting for somebody to go Ionic Spark, Wits, Warmogs, Atma's and a counteritem in there early and watch the fireworks. AS is Shen's main nontank stat now, and it is GLORIOUS.

PS: Also, taunt is a one point wonder now. Nobody take more than a single point in it and max Feint or VBlade instead. There's no reason not to do this.

Man it's almost like I have to be vague about everyone else because their roles are being kept private due to their own choice or something.

[quoted text]

I'm not allowing change of moves once they have been done because that could honestly break the game really easily and would make it hell for me to keep track of everything.

In any case, I'm organizing everyone's actions right now. Once I'm done, we'll enter the Night Phase.

Allow me to clarify, when I said 'the story role', I meant the way you had portrayed the characters. This doesn't mean the power role, but rather how you made our avatars act. Sorry for not clearing that up before.

better than S&K3

Eh? It is Doomsday Zone, just with worse controls.

Also, the super robot is a ballin' boss fight. I wouldn't call it bad by any means, more like a classic!

I personally like GS, but just so. It doesn't win any prizes for me, but I can enjoy it.

(It really could use better writing though. That's the weak spot.)

As for the other thing...no spoiling.

So a boon name could be something like Homeland Ground Corps Training (might sub it out for the russian for army or whatever if it sounds cooler). Nice. I'll see if I can cook something up.

While that is a very distinct possibility I want you to consider something.

Up to now and potentially from now on we've stuck with the dictionary on the classes and elements written by Kanz himself. The Twostuck Prince, rather than being a destroyer, is the one who fell just short of the mark. It's similar to the Page in being unimpressive until a certain point is reached. The Prince would still be beneficial now since then Kanz could just make great Timeskills with great costs, which are offset by the Prince discount. Just don't expect to destroy anything soon.

I was just about to point this out, yes. If I can get poetic for two seconds, while the Page is The Meek, the Little Guy, the Prince is the Also-Ran. You know how the expression goes, 'always a bridesmaid, never a bride'? It's a bit like that, with a mix of a few other narrative building blocks pitched in. The Prince is a player who, in narrative terms, was picked by the game, his allies or his own luck to be a Lancer, the guy who's Second Best. A major part of the struggle of the Twostuck Prince won't be in destroying things, but in making and remaking himself. We can, of course, switch to the 'official' definitions if you guys want, but that probably implies a major redesign of classes. As it is, the role of the official Prince is taken by the...wait for it...the Destroyer (and to a lesser extent, the Foe). Yeah, I was super creative when I made classes, wasn't I?

Anyway, this is a much better character Catastrophy, and I actually pretty much approve of him. I don't know how PartialArmorKind would work as a strife specibus, but that's pretty much my only gripe. Good work!

PS: As a note, does Mr. Eric Johnson have a chumhandle of his own?

Depending on your role, I would imagine playing your role would coincide with playing to win.

Not that role. The story role. Granted that Haguile hasn't given us much to work on (except for kamikaze and silver, nepotism rabblerabblerabble), but I feel like it'd be a nice touch.

So tempted to play to role instead of playing purely to win. Hmm...why not.

##Investigate own dorm room. (7:00-8:00)
##Make it Private.
##Come out of my room and lock the door.
##Head for the cafeteria and have some breakfast. (8:00-9:00)
##Go back to my room, unlock the door, take clothes, lock door, go to Laundry room, wash clothes. (9:00-10:30)
##Clothes done, hang out in the gym. Socialize with people, be nice but distracted. (10:30-13:00)
##Go to the cafeteria and have lunch. Chat with anyone there. (13:00-14:00)
##Hang out in the A/V Room. (14:00-17:00)
##Go back to dorms, talk with anyone who's there (through the doors if necessary and nobody is out). (17:00-19:00)
##Go to cafeteria, dine. (19:00-20:00)
##Go to own dorm room, stay there. (20:00-22:00)

This set of actions presumes that washing stuff counts as an action since Hag mentioned that everything outside eating did. Since mentioning The Sims gives me pause, though, including an alternative Investigation in case it doesn't. This goes in the third to last period of my orders.

##Investigate Dorm Room area at large. (17:00-19:00)
Make Results Public.

Though I love the idea of getting a taste of Dominant Winds 9 levels early, I'm pretty sure you aren't supposed to use the boon like that.

Hamanu's Terrible Roar or a Storm Blessing, I guess... Well, I don't want either right now.

Will update wishlist soonish.

Probably, but I feel like it's legit to allow a single use of it per encounter as a boon. It's not like you're getting it for free all day.

Wishlist:
Cold Iron Shield. (Lev. 5, AV.)
Lancing Gloves, )Lev. 7, AV.)
Steadfast Boots (Lev. 8, AV.)
Captain's Bastard Sword (Lev. 8/13, MME.)
Periapt of Cascading Health (Lev. 10, Dragon 369, elsewhere.)
Boon of DM's choice. (The Gods still exist in the Shadow Realm. Will wait to see if Euri does somethin' they approve of. ...Mostly because I've looked through all three things Kanz mentioned and didn't see anything that I consider worth a damn. >_>')

Anagram approving, I could whip you up an Origin Theme CPU, if you're interested. Can you go into detail about Euri's past to give me inspiration?

Dragon 389, DMG 2, Dungeon 177, IIRC.

Captain's Bastard Sword (Lev. 13, MME.)

Periapt of Cascading Health (Lev. 10, Dragon 369, elsewhere.)

Pre or post update?

(Also, you can get a Captains Sword at level 8 because Anagram allowed it, just sayin'. If you want it I *highly* recommend getting it right now because its effect is godlike. Also, I don't think the Cold Iron Shield will do much so I'd recommend something else, and I'd get Antipathy Gloves if you don't have any plan for the Hands slot. And since everybody's doing it, maybe get a boon? :P)

Now you're making me look for an appropriate boon as well.

I approve of team specialization. I suggest a Kingslayer boon, a Boon of Arcane Might (if Anagram allows it I highly recommend Dominant Winds or Aegis of Assault - if he doesn't go for something reasonable like a 'lock ability or another boon), a Storm Blessing, or probably something else I'm missing.

On that note, minor updates to my items:

-Badge of the Berserker +2, Adventurer's Vault 2.
-Backlash Tattoo, Adventurer's Vault 2.
-Boon of the Fading One, Dragon 389 (3 and 8, 8 has priority).
-Defensive Step Training, Dungeon Master's Guide 2.
-Diamond Cincture, Adventurer's Vault 2

That should take care of just about everything.

Funnily enough, my boon is pretty much diametrically oppsite to yours Omega. The Boon of the Fading One is all about fading from existence, slowly becoming less than nothing...exactly what will happen to the gods. And it also has a pretty strong dark flavor. Maybe it'll happen if we visit the Shadowman?

(Heck, thinking about it, all three proposed boons have very opposed standpoints: Vance's continues his tradition of martial expertise, yours continues with Amy's allegiance to higher powers, and Valerian's is in line with his use of dark forces for decent ends.)

And on the glove note: Get the Resplendent Gloves. Not only does it mean that Will attacks are minion poppers, not only is it cheap as hell, but it also grants you easy CA for maximum killy.

Session notes:

-World is just as screwed up way back when as it is back home.

-Aluxial is still as cuckoo for cocoa puffs as ever. Rael is surprisingly not a douche.

-We just killed one of the most important elves ever. That crit feels good now.

-We met our super distant ancestors. They hid in caves cowardly for generations. No sight of Euri's though. I smell a sidequest.

-It's us against an unfair, broken world now. We gotta find Rael.

-We got one item from our wishlists of level+2 or lower.

-The grimdark is getting to our heroes. Valerian is tired of having to fight meaningless battles just to get by, Vance is sick of wizard BS, Euri is already sick of her human form, Amy is disappointed about the state of the world and we don't know about Brona's feelings on the matter. The stars in the sky are even more cold and uncaring than the black void.
