Well if you can find someone to disenchant it, by all means. Or just give it to Amy.

Amy can do it. Pretty sure she knows the ritual. If not, Thoron can cover us.

The alternative is to Transfer Enchantment the +8 bonus to Valerian, have him call out somebody to a duel every fight and just assume he wins while everybody else actually brawls because his enemy literally can't hit him. Personally, I think getting loadsamoney makes for a more interesting story. :P

Not gonna lie, as cool as it is to find a +8 item it's... kind of ludicrously high level for us at this point. That garment is nearly as valuable as the million gold plus island Rael offered everyone in the beginning.

Edit: ...especially since items only go up to +6. A level 30 item is worth 3,125,000 GP...

That assumes you could find someone who would pay 3,125,000 for and item that is essentially just plate armor but lighter.

Hint: such a person does not exist, because he has better things to spent three million gold on.

But we can tell him it came from a girl. To hell with it...we could throw learrette in for free.

Aw, now that's just abusing the deal you made with Vivi, there.

We'll get her back afterward.

And yeah, thinking about it, selling the robe would get us...

*Maths*

625000 gold. And actually, we don't have to sell it. We can disenchant it and turn it into Residuum. Just so you guys are aware, this hands out 100k per person if we split it into six. This means all of us can completely fill up our wishlists, get a +3 weapon, and still have like half the cash to spare. I'm starting to think this is the best course of action, to prepare ourselves for whatever brutal fights Anagram has planned for us. It also has the nice side effect of getting rid of an item that breaks the game so our DM doesn't have to deal with it.

By the way, guys, is there any potential interest in an RP-only session today? I know this is last minute, but we occasionally have them and they're not as intensive as regular sessions, and, well, we haven't had a good place to have one in forever.

I'd be down for it. I've been itching for one since forever.

Oh right, I should probably upgrade my wishlist a bit.

Badge of the Berserker +2, Adventurer's Vault 2.
Avalanche Boots, Dragon 385.
Gloves of Ice, Adventurer's Vault 2, or Strikebacks, Adventurer's Vault.
Backlash Tattoo, Adventurer's Vault 2.
Prison of Salzacas, Adventurer's Vault 2.
Dice of Auspicious Fortune, Dragon 381.
Boon of the Fading One, Dragon 389.

Incidentally guys, just as a reminder: if any of you has an option that could prone enemies and wouldn't cripple you for taking it instead of something else, I'd really appreciate it if you got it - with Vance gone, I have no access to a previously very easy method of gaining Headsman's Chop's bonus on a nova turn, which drastically decreases my damage. If anybody can set me up for those turns when somebody absolutely, positively has to die, I'd appreciate it. :)

To be fair, Boss Battle 2 kind of becomes the boss battle theme in the second half of CT. Boss battle1 barely ever plays later on in that game.

No. Wrong. You fight the golem twins, the mammon machine, the mountain guardian, Dalton, all those guys in the Black Omen etc and they all play Boss Battle 1. Boss Battle 2 plays at what?

Also, Boss Battle 1 is pretty awesome. Dunno what you guys are on! That introductory cascade of notes is great.

Incidentally, the oblivion longswords - is their ability to pierce DR and bypass defense boosters inherent to them, or an enchantment?

Summary of today's events:

-Returned to Gullyshire only to find it filled to the brim with soldiers. Quickfoot infiltrated, and brought Rael back to us.
-Marched to the Alliance capital and set the ritual up while in disguise.
-Revealing ourselves, we discovered that there was no Shadowman. The Alliance created him as a ploy to unite the elves and dwarves, using humanity as a scapegoat.
-Just as a fight was about to break out, we killed Rael, ending the pocket universe and returning to the real world...
-...Where we met Winter, now a Fury.
-She wanted a fight, but Vance refused. Valerian, absolutely sick of fighting, simply walked through a wall of flames to the deck below to discover Ashara and the dwarven artificer from the Eladrin village, in stasis.
-The party talked Winter down, but just as ew had got her back...
-...Learrette waltzed in and sent Winter to parts unknown. She started bragging.
-Not willing to deal with the BS, Vance charged at her, everybody ganged up on her, and Valerian beat her nearly to death with his fists. Euri has a necklace of Learrette teeth now.
-Amy, meanwhile, went through a portal Learrette had opened from her room. There she found a massive collection of dolls, including Samantha, who she sent back to the ship before setting off to find Vivi.
-Vivi revealed that a decade had passed while the party was in the pocket universe, though they hadn't aged a day. Meanwhile, Valerian and Vance ransacked Learrette's doll collection while Euri cut off her fingertips in retaliation for her cruelty to so many beings.
-Vivi arrived, and the party traded Learrette's safety for the two artificers belowdecks. Taking her back to her room, Valerian took a doll of a paladin and Learrette's treasured blades, which matched the paladin's attire.
-In exchange for taking Learrette off her, Vivi offered to revive one doll. Val called for a meeting, and fierce discussion ensued as he presented the possibility that the paladin doll might have a close connection to Learrette. This lasted for some time, with everybody leaning towards resurrecting Samantha...until Vance volunteered to take the place of one doll, freeing both of them.
-Vance was turned into a doll. Good night, brave warrior. Someday, you will return.
-Everybody leveled up.
-Items found: Cloth Armor +8, Oblivion Longsword +3 x2, Bracers of Mighty Striking, Boots of Striding, Vance Doll of Martial Powers +1. Oblivion Longsword stats: immune to DR, immune to any power that increases defenses in any way.

We also need stats for the paladin's longswords. But besides that...damn. What session, people. What a session.

ah, derp. right in the multiclass feat section too.

the power in question would be witchfire, and i would essentially be using a feat so that i could gain that ability and lose one i would otherwise know. while it is pretty neat (2d6 + cha mod damage and -2 on attack rolls till the end of my next turn, and if i choose fey pact, -2 plus my int mod to attack rolls, aka -8), not sure it would be worth burning a feat for.

It depends on what attack penalties are worth to you. Remember that we have the ability to slap down a -4 penalty mostly on demand thanks to One Liner + marking, and that Tiro appears to be taking Dishearten, which slaps down a -3 penalty to attack rolls or more.

I really wanted to listen to those, Kanz, but the audio on those videos were just so s*** that I couldn't sit through it.

Anyway, I'll take more advice. I'll probably start doing stuff with Skrull later tonight and see what I can make happen.

Understandable. You've listened to David Sirlin's vids on fighting game fundamentals, right? If not, they have much better audio and convey the same thing, so they're worth a shot. Besides that, I recommend checking the Shoryuken forums for Skrull just in case, to see if they have any interesting tech for you. Things you should do:

-Practice Kara-Canceling your Heavy attack into grab. This gives you a super long range grab that is really useful for tripping people up, so be sure to give it a look. Lots of fun stuff can be done with this.
-Get the timing for Orbital Grudge into Inferno down pat, and learn how to Orbital Grudge off the right moves.
-Learn how to charge and use the flaming cartwheel punch properly. It's really finicky and even experts miss it sometimes, so it's good to nail it down.
-Practice the basics and test out the ranges of all your moves. And I mean it, *all of them*. Then try chaining them on the move, from different places and using different combos.
-Practice wave and Plink dashing. You gotta move fast across the screen to capitalize on stuff. I wouldn't step into real matches without the ability to reliably dash, if you really want to get good.

I think that's all the basics off the top of my head. There's more stuff, probably, but I don't play Skrull so that's all I can think of.

i glanced at some of the warlock things because amy will multiclass them for a paragon path. don't really get a ton from the multiclass unfortunately, but the paragon path is pure win.

i saw there was a level 1 warlock attack that offered a -2 + int modifier to hit for an enemy. for amy that would equate to -8. shame i can't think of a way to get that XD

Minor change to my sheet: swapping out Nature's Abundance for Wilding Strength. This doesn't much matter for the party, but it does add some much needed accuracy boosting to Valerian's novas.

Incidentally, I just realized I once agains forgot that Curtain of Steel deals 3 W damage, not 1 W. So I actually dealt bonus damage to Learrette yesterday. /facepalm

You forgot to add your racial bonus Tiro. If you're going full INT your intelligence should be 20 (22 at this level, plus two points into CHA), otherwise you need to reallocate points.

Also, you need to set your level in the box (it makes the sheet do a bunch of math for you) and add the HP gained by leveling to your total, as well as take four more feats, another at-will power, a second daily, two utilities, a theme, and items.

Cap/Skrull/Task seems like it would be an okay team. Cap is pretty easy to combo with and hits HARD, and using Task's assist and backflip should help you get in. If Cap and Skrull both die, you get Taskmaster at anchor, who does stupid damage in XF3 and has great projectiles. I don't know anything about Skrull, and I always have problems fighting the good ones I come across online.

This is a bad team. Beams stuff you to hell and back, and your air control is limited.

Bottom line: your team needs to synergize. Skrull is a beastly anchor and has excellent DHCs, but loves some meter and has a really tough time killing people who have assists for keepaway. You want a strong point character, where strong point means you can kill anybody that isn't Thor or Haggar for one bar (two bars tops), a reliable Second who has a strong assist and is good at using meter and building it, and your Anchor who can win bad situations and finish teams off with X-Factor. Out of that list you posted, Spencer is a really strong point and has a rather decent assist for comboing, and Doctor Strange, Hawkeye, Chris, and to a lesser extent Iron Man provide some strong lockdown assists. I recommend using one of those as your Second, though you will have to practice DHCs into Skrull IIRC.

And now, it's time to get down to the basics. For now, forget teams. What you want to learn is the basics of fighting games. Perhaps you might not like their commentary, but James Chen and UltraDavid have done some pretty in-depth videos to explain things to newbies to the scene. You can find them here: http://www.twitch.tv/ultrachentv/videos

I recommend checking, at *least* the first episode. It's long, but worthwhile and if you know what the game is about you'll do way better than if you just try practicing BnBs without know how and why you want to use them.

what how did you guys let her take the Samantha doll

Kaaaaaaaan

Lets put it this way.

First I got the upper hand on Learrette by flinging her against the acid walls, so she had Vivi turn the walls to stone.

Then I started beating the crap out of her, so she healed.

Then I beat the crap out of her some more, so she regained a daily power, spent three action points, had a +5 bonus to saves, and healed again.

Then Euri gave me a buff and I beat her up more.

Then Vivi gave her a super ability that let her roll 6d8 damage against me, slow me, and deal ongoing damage to me.

Then Vance drew his shortsword (not even attacked, just drew it) and Learrette cried foul and had Vivi petrify all of us.

Then she took the doll. So yeah, it was kind of like a wrestling match where the Heel has the referee on her pocket big time.

Summary:

-Defeated Sean Hammery.
-Met the Shadowman, who raised Sean Hammery and shadowified him.
-Defeat Sean Hammery again.
-Escaped the dwarf fortress with the Axe of Maximum Dwarfing in our hands and Rael in tow.
-Visited the neutral halflings, who recognized Rael and arranged for a way for him to contact the goddess of magic. Amy accompanied him.
-Said goddess did not take kindly to Amy's standoffish behavior and gave her a Ioun Stone of Does Absolutely Nothing.
-Discussed plans for the future. A setup was hatched to reveal the Shadowman's ploy to the Alliance, thanks to the combined efforts of the group and Rael.
-With the resourceful halfling Quickfoot, found and killed the Mint Dragon Trask, coaxing the Shadowman into appearing and revealing his plans.
-After Shadow Trask got instakilled, Lea and the Learrettes turned up. Valerian challenged her to a duel.
-Duel was inconclusive after Learrette started bringing steel chairs from outside the ring and Vance tried to even the score.
-Learrette took the Samantha doll and left.
-Raided Trask's hoard. We all gained 1000 experience and one item of level 10 or lower.

And that's the size of it.

anyways, character related npc quests sound like a awesome idea for when we escape the fake past. all we have to do is kill all the dwarves and elves and halflings and ghosts and pixies and shadows and humans and bugbears and goblins and dragons and also maybe possibly rael perhaps.

Yeah, regardlesss of the weirdness of Yoshi's post and everything else, saying lyrics haven't mattered to you is a lie, and nobody cares about how much music you know because this is about personal preferences, not broad taste.

On topic, it's up there. Starcraft, AoE 2, Rise of Legends, all you need for success.

Hey, a familiar that gives me +2 to all my best spells is the only thing I really care about, but I really care about it.

Yeah, I know. I got hype when I saw it, too. Even paying two feats for it, it's still a god tier deal.

In other news, since Heroes of the Elemental Chaos was released yesterday, I'm really hoping I can obtain a copy before tomorrow's session.

It doesn't have good Sorcerer stuffs, besides the Elemental Focus feats for the most part. That and the Elemental Storm Talon.

And also mostly really bad. Both the Vampire and Ossassin are just terrible, and the Executioner is juuust passable.

spiral pretending you think the spider-man tampered with the crime scene isn't going to make yourself seem like you're not the spider-man. you are literally the only person it could be.

sceptile is impossible due to timeframe and the fact that the vents couldn't be accessed from KCF's room where he spent the night.
Ryoko is impossible due to her body being too big to fit into the shaft.
everyone else's vent shafts are blocked to not allow entry.

the ONLY person's vent who we were unable to investigate was YOURS because YOU WOULDN'T LET US. I warned you yesterday that if you insisted on pulling that **** it would point to you as being the one with the gun, and it's exactly what happened. process of elimination. no one else, literally no one else, other than you can POSSIBLY be the spider-man because they can't get into their vents from their rooms. the fact that you refused to go along when you knew it was going to come to this proves that you do have something to hide.

Hey Lisel, lemme just ask you a question about this. Suppose we find a way into Spiral's room, and verify whether his vent has been tampered with or not. Suppose it turns out not to be the case.

What happens then? Because I'm thinking about what possible explanation can be provided if we have to discard and draw, and so far I've only got one single feasible theory. Curious if you've got any yourself.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: It is with 100% certainty that I can declare that SSBM was not killed immediately after Scept hit him.

The blood trail begun underneath a light. If we assume that this is where Sceptile hit him, he then crawled underneath the table that the bloodtrail led. He must have crawled here and not been dragged by the tiger, because the body was found in the open, where the tiger would have dragged him to.

However this lends itself to SSBM being hit long before the tiger arrived, as does... pretty much every other piece of evidence. It is also worth noting that injuries from broken lights were described as light injuries by Sceptile, presumably what was said in the update, ergo fact. However, this contradicts the light injuries being why the lion attacked, because the blood trail was caused by medium to severe bleeding.

Sceptile you are lying.

What tiger

Not entirely sure, lose track of these things too easily. <_<' Hate math and enhancement bonuses, really do. -_-'

I think you added your Heavy Blade Expertise bonus to the list of always-ons. So that explains that. Take that out and numbers come out lookin' purdy.

And yeah, this is why I recommend jotting everything down the moment you see a change. It saves a ton of headaches if you keep meticulous track of everything. Annoying, I know, but a good way to avoid issues down the line.

That does indeed seem a bit high. Lets see:

Base 10 + 4 half-level + 7 scale + 1 shield = 22.

+ Enhancement 2 + Masterwork 1 = 25

Hmm, turns out it was actually one point higher than it should have been. Where did that Misc +1 come from?

This is a joke, right?

40 flat reduction is useless.

At least armor and MR do something worth noting.

His Q did get nerfed early, though.

40 flat reduction is NOT worthless. It means bruisers don't even hurt you, and IIRC it is applied after everything else to boot. So say you cut an incoming attack's damage in half to 100. Now, it does 60. This is *huge* for mitigation.
