From my past experiences at various jobs, if you're injured and they have something available for you to do that the doctor says you can do, they will make you come in and do that.

For example, I was a mail carrier, and someone else in the office broke a finger on their left hand, which meant that for a few weeks they weren't medically cleared to handle mail. They still forced the person to come in and do some light receptionist work while they were injured, because the doctor cleared it.

I assume that's the sort of thing Tim is referring to. If you're too injured to do your normal job, they probably have other work that you CAN do, and they'll make you do it until you're healed.

I personally doubt the validity of that dirtsheet rumor. Say what you want about Vince but I've never heard anything about him being heartless when it comes to injuries. I can see him ASKING Mark if he wants to work through the injury for the good of the company, but DEMAND? I don't buy it.

It'll be interesting to see who wins the next era (the Post-War Era is the best name for it IMO), which isn't as historically set in stone but in my mind runs from the night after X-Seven through Wrestlemania 21.

Okay, so I have decided that since I have a bit of money right now I should suck it up and finally watch a CHIKARA event. I want something awesome, I don't care how new it is, Smash Brothers, Delirious, and The Colony would all be a plus.

What event should I get?

I'm not well versed on older stuff, so someone else can probably point you in a better direction, but I would pick King of Trios 2011 Night 1 or Night 3.

Colony is there as a trio, but the SSB haven't been around since 2010 I don't think, and Delirious is just now starting to be used again at the end of 2011 after Ultramantis Black finally got the Eye of Tyr back from Ares to free Delirious's mind from the BdK mind control enslavement.

Love the new postseason setup. Sure, there are cons to it, but there are pros and cons to every postseason format unless you just go to a completely balanced schedule and then award the NL and AL Championships to the teams with the best records in each league, and then play the World Series between them for s***s and giggles.

If they are determined to have divisions and unbalanced schedules, and they are, then this new format is awesome and far superior to the previous one.

Although yeah, in an ideal world, there would be a shift in divisions every year to re-organize them in a balanced manner based on previous season record.

That's their official account, and every week they post a new Event Center hyping future events, the Podcast-A-Go-Go showcasing a match from a recent event, the Throwdown Lowdown which highlights any given particular awesome move or sequence, and the Barber Shop where referee Jon Barber basically does WWE Inbox with CHIKARA stars.

Oh GOD no. CHIKARA is serious when it comes to things like obsessive continuity and Championship prestige, but it's all a big live action comic book for the most part.

But don't get me wrong, the matches aren't laugh-a-minute silliness or anything. They have as much hard-hitting action and technical masterpieces as any company. They have a very good sense of when and how to pace the comedy, while still having the utmost reverence for the "sport" of professional wrestling itself, in all its international forms and styles.

And it's all *gasp* PG!

Well, if you want to actually start FOLLOWING the company, I would suggest the most recent show "The Thirteenth Hat" since that's the Season Premiere for 2012 (they did two more shows last weekend that aren't out yet).

The three-night King of Trios 2011 event is generally considered their best stuff from last year, if you just want to see them at their best.

Storyline news: Rock got a rematch against Austin the next night on Raw, but was unsuccessful thanks to Austin's new alliance with Vince as well as Austin now having the support of Triple H! They have now formed the Two-Man Power Trip and they're on a mission to win all the titles!

Triple H made good on that promise by defeating Chris Jericho for the IC Title. He then lost it a week later on a fluke pinfall to Jeff Hardy, but then the week after that regained it (and the Power Trip would definitely make sure to take the Hardyz [and Lita!] out for daring to challenge them).

Meanwhile, Edge and Christian's 7th Tag Title reign only lasted a couple weeks, as they would lose the titles to the Brothers of Destruction, Undertaker and Kane.

So now at Backlash it's the second ever Triple Header match, with all 3 titles on the line in one tag team match: Austin (c) and Triple H (c) vs. Brothers of Destruction (c), whoever pins whoever wins the loser's title.

(On a side note, this is a very very rare instance where the IC Title main events a PPV. The fourth and thus far final time!)

Every title except Austin's and Chyna's changed hands between WM and Backlash:

Rhyno defeated Kane for the Hardcore Title

WWE has done it before for stuff like NXT and Superstars when they're overseas and don't feel like bringing people like Scott Stanford and Jack Korpella across the ocean just to call 2 matches, but it's pretty rare. I think that's a fair reason.

EDIT: And back when Tribute to the Troops was still over in the Middle East they would do it there too, that makes sense.

Right but now they're ACTUALLY not doing commentary as the show is taped, but instead waiting until the air date to overdub it. Before they would still have Tenay and Taz at the desk recording the commentary live as the action happened.

Oh, about those weird Taz off-topic pop culture references:

Supposedly that's part of a new TNA initiative to no longer have Tenay and Taz do the commentary from behind the desk except for live shows like PPVs or special Impacts, and instead overdub the commentary the day of the broadcast to make it feel less "taped" and more "current." Not a big issue this week since today's episode was taped on Monday, but two weeks from now they have an episode taped 15 days in advance and this allows them to pepper in whatever is going on in pop culture at THAT point to disguise the pre-taped feel.

Of course, it all goes to crap since as a regular viewer I can subtly tell when commentary isn't actually being done IN the arena but whatever. Hopefully they try it these 3 weeks and see that it doesn't work.
