He pinned James Storm (technically cleanly!) after Angle destroyed him in the locker room sneak attack.

He beat Styles at Turning Point due to shenanigans, and then after the time-limit draw at Final Resolution, he beat him in the "5 minute overtime" on Impact.

And then the two matches with Hardy.

So he's 3-1-2 in his 6 televised title defenses thus far.

The thing I've never understood about that logic is that the odds are all equally stacked against all four guys. Yes, the odds are stacked against Bobby Roode, but individually they're just as much stacked against James Storm, Bully Ray, and Jeff Hardy. There's no actual disadvantage.

Yes, on some level he does have the most to lose in the match, but does he really? The three challengers HAVE to win, or else risk falling down the contender ladder. Should Roode lose, he'll at least know that he's due another title shot very soon.

There has been a fair amount of title stability in all companies lately. Here's a ranked list of the current WWE/TNA/ROH Champions, based on the length of their reigns:

1.) Davey Richards
2.) Cody Rhodes
3.) Jay Lethal
4.) Austin Aries
5.) Beth Phoenix
6.) Gail Kim/Madison Rayne
7.) Bobby Roode
8.) Robbie E.
9.) Gail Kim
10.) Crimson/Matt Morgan
11.) CM Punk
12.) Daniel Bryan
13.) The Briscoe Brothers
14.) Primo/Epico
15.) Jack Swagger

CM Punk has had a fairly stable 3-month reign (by WWE standards lately) and he's still pretty far down the list!

Also not in his favor: not a single TNA title has yet changed hands in 2012.

SOMETHING HAS TO GIVE.

(Heck, forget just 2012, the last time any title changed hands in TNA was when Morgan/Crimson won the Tag Titles on November 14th!)

If Aries can survive one more week with the title, he'll have the 2nd-longest X-Division reign in the title's 10-year history.

A tall task though, considering he defends it on Sunday, and then they tape two weeks worth of Impact on Monday and Tuesday.

when did aries debut in tna. i'm gonna marathon this stuff.

Debuted in June as part of a tournament to develop new X-Division stars with a contract for the winner.

He won the contract in July at Destination X in a four-way against Zema Ion, Low-Ki, and Jack Evans (in what is generally considered the TNA MotY for 2011), and then pretty much immediately got into the X-Division Title picture, winning the belt on his second try in September from Brian Kendrick at No Surrender.

He has held the title ever since, and nearly cleaned out the entire division.

I think the official delineation is that TNA is the name of the overarching company (like WWE), and Impact Wrestling is one of their brands (like Raw or SmackDown), along with stuff like Ring Ka King and All Wheels Wrestling.

Assuming this match goes on to the end of the show, we're looking at a nearly twenty minute match, and they've really been letting him do these long main event matches just about every week. If I didn't know better, I'd say they appreciate his in-ring talent!

I think the one thing that really gives him a leg up over the rest of the indy darlings on the roster aside from Punk is the whole "trained by Shawn Michaels" thing. I mean yeah, other HBK trainees have been in WWE before (Cade, London), but even back as early as 2002 everyone knew that Bryan was the crown jewel of that training academy.

In a long-term sense, he alone is Shawn Michaels's ongoing WWE legacy.

Today is the 9th anniversary of Curt Hennig's death, and McGillicutty tweets:

February 10th. A day I just can't forget... My dad, my best friend... He past away 9 years ago... I miss u dad. I miss u so much! I love you

Dear Dad. Hey man. I'm doin the bst I can. I doin everything you told me to do. I'm not supposed to cry but I can't help it. I'm tired of sitting on the sidelines. My name is Joe Hennig. And I'm the past, present and future.

Today, I dont give a damn what u call me. Michael McGillicutty. I am Joe Hennig and I am apart of the greatest wrestling legacy of all time

I miss u Dad. And from here on out, I'm taking over! I love u daddy. RIP Curt Hennig. Let's get this Goin. #Hennig

I know we crap on the guy a lot for the Genesis of McGillicutty promo and for not living up to his family legacy, but this was genuinely pretty emotional to read. I still maintain that the guy has gotten the absolute shaft by WWE with the stupidest name in the company and definitely does deserve a real honest chance.

That's amazing, and given that the drug has been used to treat cancer I imagine it's already been proven safe (well at least relatively). Kinda odd that it's use as an anti-Alzheimer's drug wasn't discovered earlier though; I would imagine coincidence of cancer and Alzheimer's isn't that rare.

I looked it up, and it's a drug that specifically is used to treat skin cancer.

Skin cancer would usually develop much earlier in life than Alzheimer's, I imagine, so the effects on reversing Alzheimer's (if it translates to humans) would never really be noticed otherwise, since anyone taking the drug just wouldn't get Alzheimer's.

It would take a case of someone developing skin cancer AFTER they've already developed Alzheimer's for anyone to notice it just by happenstance.

That would be so awesome if so.

It says that it erased 75% of the whatever blockages that had been previously deposited, so it may not erase the disease entirely but it sure sounds like it would greatly improve quality of life.

If it translates from mice to humans of course.

And even if it doesn't, the fact that it CAN be done on mice this way that quickly should definitely mean they're on the right track.

I think you kinda know before you've actually killed someone how open you are to the idea. You don't have to be Caesar to understand Caesar or whatever.

You might not know how well you can cope afterwards (though again I'd think you'd have an idea) but that's not really the issue here.

For me, the method outlined here plays a big part.

If there was someone on death row who was 100% assuredly guilty, and someone wanted to pay me $50 to push a button to do the lethal injection, I'd have no problem doing it and coping with it.

To actually have to dig down deep and quell up the anger required to kill someone who has done nothing to me personally with blunt force would be very difficult.

One-time-only, I'd do it for maybe $10,000, but no less.

Jakyl, I love your thought process in these things. Seriously, your first answer about repetition making you numb to it was really interesting; I hadn't considered that at all. And just to answer that question: this is a one-time thing.

Okay, then no, I wouldn't do it.

I'm not morally opposed to it, I just don't have the anger inside me to actually do this just for a quick buck that isn't life-changing or anything.

But like I said, if I could keep doing it (on people that were equally 100% guilty each time) to the point where it could be my job, I'd be down for it because at that point the mentality would be "Doing a ton of these in one week every year will give me my dream lifestyle otherwise."

It's an odd moral tightrope to walk.

My way is still more effective. She can put her own dishes away. not her dads. It's practically like living on your own, but with people in the house. Aka Preparing for the real world when people move out on their own.

In the real world, roommates wash each others' dishes.

Do you realize how crazy inefficient it is for each individual person to put only their dishes in the dishwasher at a time?

It's a give and take, either you trade off on doing the same household tasks, or each of you divide up the tasks that benefit all of you and always do your share. Everyone ONLY cleaning the things THEY touch is really really crazy.
