Nah, I'm pretty sure Punk's reign is gonna go well past Extreme Rules.

UNLESS they do the absolute laziest booking they can possibly do and have Jericho win the title in the Chamber, have Punk use his rematch clause at WM to win it back, then have Jericho use his rematch clause at Extreme Rules and lose one more time on his way back out the door.

I keep hearing that the spring stampede Nash booked, was actually pretty good given the low expectations.

2nd-best WCW PPV ever produced actually, behind only GAB '89.

And that's no small feat considering that GAB '89 was the consensus "best PPV ever" until X-7 happened.

Yeah the main-event scene was atrocious (like, worst booking ever atrocious), but you still had Benoit/Malenko/Guerrero/Jericho/Finlay/Mysterio/Raven/Kidman dominating the midcard/tag scenes.

There are so many sub-eras in those two years that it's hard to judge.

Russo 1 era (late 1999) > Johnny Ace era (late 2000) > Russo 2 era (mid 2000) > Kevin Nash era (early/mid 1999) >>>> Kevin Sullivan era (early 2000)

Yeah, I agree with GTM. Giving him the title match at WM is perfect if he puts Punk over. It pushes Punk higher by having him defeat an established name, and it doesn't sacrifice anyone else's push.

Just finished SD.

I realize it's early, but man, as of right now the MotY race is completely up in the air, at least as far as televised shows go (I didn't see the EVOLVE iPPV, and no one outside of those in attendance have seen the two ROH house shows or the CHIKARA season premiere yet).

So just limiting it to WWE and TNA (nothing in the first two episodes of ROH's TV Show in 2012 has been worthy), what is the televised Match of the Year thus far?

IMO, there has not been a **** match yet, but there have been a half-dozen matches in the ***1/2 to ***3/4 range.

X-Division Four Way at Genesis
Abyss vs. Bully Ray at Genesis
Punk vs. Ziggler at Royal Rumble
The Royal Rumble match itself
Punk vs. Bryan on Raw
Orton vs. Barrett on SmackDown

I feel like every single one of those matches could be legitimately on top of someone's WWE/TNA MotY rankings right now.
