Nintendo fans get very defensive very quickly. I've been called a Nintendo hater. Never mind that I own loads of Switch games and have bought 4 Switch systems, not to mention how I own every single Nintendo console short of the Virtual Boy (and I tried to get one of those!).

Im somewhere in the middle as I love their first party games but usually am not impressed by their hardware or their OS / online ecosystem, and I hate most every action they take as a company besides making games.

It depends on where you ultimately fall with console gaming. I have been primarily a console gamer my entire life going back to Atari so for me Playstation has been my primary main console since the PS1. I personally really like the PS5.

A lot of the main complaints are lack of exclusives which is kind of funny since most of gamefaqs has always been against exclusives the whole time. So if you already had say an xbox series x it probably wouldn't be worth it. We are in a new era with consoles going forward and the days of new consoles meaning a new lineup of games is over. We are much more PC like in that it is the same general pool of games they just run better on ps5 than they did on ps4 and sometimes offer graphical enhancements. The same will be true someday when ps6 launches. Same pool of games just better options than on ps5.

I think a ps5 is totally worth it but I'm not a PC guy nor an xbox guy. So Playstation is my main way of gaming and I use it for all games except those specifically exclusive to Switch.

Ive always wanted everything multi-platform so I wouldnt have to bother with anything but PC.

Consoles having exclusives is the only reason Ill ever buy one, but Id rather they just didnt have them so I wont have to buy them.

Depends on what you have already. If you have a PC, certainly not unless one or two still exclusive games or not being able to wait a couple years for exclusives to come to PC is worth the price of entry to you.

If you have a PS4 and are happy with it, kinda the same honestly.

These days its best to just get that budget blu ray release for outlaw star. It used to be very cheap (got mine for like 15 bucks back in 2020 off amazon). I can't imagine its too much higher right now.

I bought it within the last year to rip to my media server and it was probably $26 or something, still very cheap for anime.

Its kind of a fun bit of history to dig into why anime home releases are so expensive. The short version is that it started out as collectors items and they didnt want to piss of the initial collectors, then realized they could just get away with it.

Outlaw Star is still one of my top 3 favorite anime of all time to this day. Lovable cast, great humor, great world-building, amazing action scenes both on the ground and in space, banger OP song, two ED songs that are just pure vibes... I could go on. The only really bad thing I could say about Outlaw Star is that the story feels incomplete and probably always will be. I've heard it had a sequel greenlit at one point, but it was cancelled early on and some of the concepts planned for it were re-used for that mediocre Angel Links spin-off that takes place in the same universe.

I will say, hot spring episode aside, when I rewatched it sometime within the last year, I was really surprised how Percy it was, especially at the start.

the only thing I struggle with is the number pad on keyboards. absolutely cannot use it w/ my right hand.

what I did was got a keyboard w/o the number pad and then a separate number pad I keep on the left side. makes working in Blender a lot easier cus my right hand can focus on the mouse and my left hand can do all of the important keyboard shortcuts, and it won't have to reach very far to change the viewport perspective

Everyone should be doing that anyway. Numpads are just a waste of space and bad ergonomics 99% of the time, so it makes sense to just move it out of the way when youre not using it.

I personally have found having an MMO mouse extremely useful in all sorts of applications.

If I didn't like the Corsair Scimitar so much I'd consider getting one of those for myself since I do like to do things left handed around her occasionally just so her left handedness feels more normalized.

Meanwhile, I get so irrationally angry every time I hit the side buttons on a regular mouse by accident and accidentally go back or forward when I didnt mean to, and I cant imagine having an MMO mouse because of that

I kind of have to. I would honestly prefer it if there was no difficulty option and it was easier, but if there are difficulty options I have to do the highest non-bullshit one (and by bullshit, I mean something that makes a regular game a roguelike by removing checkpoints, something that super boosts enemies and obviously meant for NG+, or for a Falcom example, in Ys Origins, Nightmare basically makes you unable to use some game mechanics).

Ive heard the Crosbell games spoil the shit out of Trails in the Sky. Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter remake will be my first one, Im playing the demo now.

Im playing on Nightmare and Im enjoying the battle system so far. At least where Im at its tough but fair on Nightmare. If you use the action combat system to dodge and pull enemies together then use the super moves to chain into stuns and so on, you can get by mostly unscathed, but if you are forced to start in turn based its much harder.

Cant say, I wouldnt even touch the internet without Dark Reader. White backgrounds are a cancer.

Im playing the Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter remake demo, and the full game will be my next. Last game was Clair Obscur: Expedition 33.

The earliest I remember the cameo thing was NBA Jam. You could play as Bill Clinton, Will Smith, and many, many others. This continued in NFL Blitz, where I think I remember playing as Raiden from Mortal Kombat.

As it turns out pizza for the rest of my life, not counting inflation, would cost about $150k. I dunno why I thought it would be so much more expensive than that. I guess I'm just used to thinking of crappy restaurants as expensive AF.

It would probably be more than that, but it depends on the order. If we actually eat there its usually $50-55 if we eat in, probably $9 less when we order takeout as drinks usually cost $3 each.

But if you were only ordering because you had to and were going to toss it and eat something else, just order the cheapest thing they have.

I was a skinny twig growing up, best I can remember I weighed 135 or so in 10th grade, then one day I was 20 and weighed 237 or so, it really snuck up on me. I think my highest was 257.

Ive been fighting it for years, and on May 23 I was down to 161.1 in my underwear. That week, I got pneumonia, and I went up 4-5 lbs before the week was over without changing a thing. Since then, Ive never been able to get it off, and its trying to creep up more, still havent changed anything.

Its like getting pneumonia just permanently fucked my metabolism and what was making me lose weight before is now making me put it on.

I probably need to lose 30-35 lbs to get the belly fat off completely Id guess.

Yeah, the gigantic leap for Frieza's power level was purely for shock value. Ginyu being 120,000 and Goku 180,000 were treated as unfathomably huge power levels, and then Frieza announces that his power level is over a million.

His final at 100% is 120,000,000 according to Daizensh 7, which really hammers the ridiculousness home.

I know it's valid, I'm just bitching about the lack of convo. Although it's harder on the free side of Bumble and EVEN HARDER on Hinge when they only give you like 7 likes for 24 hours.

But then you have people who just want you to message them on Insta if you're interested, Women who say "message me" which I think means I need Premium regardless just to contact them, "Poly and Partnered" taking up space and then I'm apprehensive on swiping right on women who have kids because I've never dated before! The whole point of me doing this was to start trying to do something I should have been trying to do for over 18 years and that feels like skipping a few steps with absolutely no knowledge of what I'm supposed to do!

I prefer Hinge over Bumble as it lets you send a free message to everyone, even if the number is limited.

Bumble lets you send a certain number of free messages when you first join, but they never refresh unless you pay, so if you arent paying, Bumble literally only lets you swipe and seems worthless.

I think Ive gotten exactly 2 matches on Bumble in 6 months. One was a devout Christian who mentioned God and church and maybe had a bible verse in their profile while mine says Im an atheist, so I dont know why they matched with me. The other ended up ghosting after a few messages.

Ive been having a little luck with Facebook Dating of all places lately because it also lets you send a free message and it has a very high limit (it takes about an hour and a half or two hours to hit the limit for me). But I still usually get ghosted in short order.

But my last relationship was in 2007 or 2008, somewhere in there. Its extra hard for me because I was born legally blind and cant drive, and so many profiles say Passenger princess or If you dont have your own car dont bother etc.

Its getting very discouraging and depressing at this point, but Im trying to persevere because this is the only way I have to put myself out there.

I struggle to think of any game I've played that had romance options, unless you count stuff like the Golden Saucer date in FF7. I've never cared much for romance subplots. To me it just seems weird that people are more concerned about who's hooking up with who when we're busy trying to save the world.

Trying that nowadays would go pretty poorly without some investment, what with the changes to armor and the perk trees.

Which is why I honestly kinda prefer the launch state, at least on PC, where I never had any issues at all. Builds in general felt way more powerful, and while the rework made some things better, it also made some things worse IMO:

• You used to be able to remove the mods from weapons when turning them into junk, no way to do that now (theres a mod to fix it)
• Attribute checks didnt used to scale with your level, so if you wanted this unique piece of clothing behind a Body door and you didnt spec into body, you could go back later with Gorilla Arms and probably get it. Now, if you do that at early levels it will still work, but if you level up much at all, it wont, which is really stupid and fuck whoever thought it was a good idea. (There is again a mod to fix this, Attribute Checks De-Scaled)
• The crafting system was much better before IMO, you used to be able to make much more powerful stuff.

There are plenty of others, but those are the three that stick out in my memory.

It was also really irritating that by the time I beat Phantom Liberty my save got to a point where if I made another save it would get corrupted instantly, so I basically just had to stop. That definitely didnt happen at launch.

Not cameras, but yes to turrets. You can shut down cameras with Tech by getting close, and you can either shut down or rewire turrets the same way. It's actually a great way to grind Engineer and Solo, every time you see a turret you rewire it, then when you're done in the area you rip it off the mount and just drop it immediately. Good 200 XP in both.

Friendly mode for cameras doesn't really accomplish much you can't do by just taking them over, and every camera bank has a connected terminal.

And if you've never maxed Body and Reflex and gone on a Baseball Bat/Katana rampage then you don't understand why Sandys are so much fucking fun.

I remember manually overriding turrets now. I just didnt normally get close enough to them where it was an option.

In my first playthrough, I dont think I put a single point into Body or Reflex and the Satori katana would one-shot anything I came across nonetheless with my build when I got bored of sniping, so I kinda do.

I played both, and I played the shit out of both.

The things you hack are access points that give Hacking Components, cash, and assorted hacks.

Computers by and large are wide-open.

Again, there are exactly two computers I can remember where an Int check comes up, and neither of them are necessary or even particularly helpful.

You can't hack in that you can't "press button and send demons," but it's like saying you miss out on most of BG3 by just not playing a Wizard, you don't miss out on much of anything other than actual spell-slinging.

You mean you can make cameras and turrets turn on enemies with a Sandevistan? If so, thats news to me, but using one has never appealed to me precisely because of this. I dont like being not able to do stuff, and not being able to slow down time while I massacre everything doesnt bother me at all.

For both my playthroughs, I did a Tech Sniper Cool build where I could just do a Ping to make enemies show up through walls, then headshot everyone to death through walls with the Breakthrough before they even knew I was there, so its not like a Sandevistan would have really helped.

I wish Id have done something different on the second playthrough, but I wanted to do the same as the first playthrough to see how big a difference the rework was (that ended up being underwhelming in hindsight).

Reminded myself of another stealth point:

When you knock someone out, hiding the body in a box or dumpster kills them. If you're going through a mission and aiming to not kill anyone, you cannot hide the bodies. This is only super-relevant in 2 missions I can think of (One side quest in the NE of the city, one Gig in Dogtown), but it's good to remember.

True about hiding bodies. I always assumed that was a bug, but its good to know.

In the original game, yes, as I didnt spec into net running at all and was able to hack everything, but in the rework that would t fly as stuff was much higher requirements to hack.

Either way, the point is that not using a Sandevistan doesnt make you unable to do any general game mechanics and not using a cyberdeck does.

Turning them off isnt interacting with them in a meaningful way. You cant read the emails, cant spy on or hack people with cameras, etc. There is a massive amount of content you just lock yourself out of by using anything else.
