Every day we get closer to our understanding of reality being flipped on its head. Even if it's not alien in nature, there's obviously a lot of technology at play that's a bit above our comprehension of how things work. As shitty as everything in the world is right now, more & more UAP info coming out at least gives me a bit of hope.

I feel all that, except not the hope part, but fear. Either case, aliens finally revealing themselves or the government having super technology, is fear inducing to me.

One thing for sure, this is the biggest UAP event in history I think. It's a huge deal, no matter what it is.

They are the size of trucks, when approached by helicopter their lights turn off and they vanish, they leave behind no detectable traces for instruments to detect, a mayor said he saw like 60 of them at once, a coast guard dude said his ship was chased by dozens of them and they came from the ocean. This has all happened in a very short amount of time.

Either military is conducting a massive technology/social pysche test, or something very big is about to happen regarding aliens.

I feel like this should be way bigger news than it is. Hardly anyone is talking about it seems like.

I like her comics but I feel like she's really bad at making funny reaction face shots, so ones like this are bad.

Edit: although as a meta comic it works. It's editing the original, and now conveying murderous thoughts in light of recent events.

It's impossible to just get a bucket of dark meat for a reasonable price. Like at Church's, you could get a bucket of 8 or 10 dark meat pieces for like ten bucks or something. At KFC, that'd probably cost you THIRTY DOLLARS.

It's the combinations the really fuck you over.

Like when an enemy casts sleep on some people, or paralyze, and then out of nowhere a black fog rolls in and disables all magic, all while the enemy themself has super high physical defense and you need magic to kill them. So now you're sitting there with almost your whole party disabled, doing measly physical damage to these enemies, just hoping the fog goes away, then one dies, then they call for backup and another appears, and it just goes on and on...

It's nothing compared to the difficulty later in the game. It gets basically impossible.

Assuming we're talking about the remake. The original, the game started fairly hard, and it ended fairly hard. In the remake, it starts brain-numbingly easy, and eventually becomes impossible post game.

Which is fascinating, looking back at all the posts about it being too easy when it first came out. Nobody knew that you'd be fighting 3 King Hydras, bosses in their own right, each with 3 turns that completely lock you down with status effects, and this is a normal, regular encounter.

Playing the DQ3 remake solidified it.

By modern, I basically mean the two big 3d ones. 8 and 11. My favorite games are the early ones through 6 (although I never did beat that one to be fair). My all time favorites are 3 and 4, tied.

If you love the modern games that's great. Please don't take offense. This isn't meant to be a hater topic. Just me expressing what I've felt for a long time but never really conveyed to anyone.

The modern games are just made in a way that I do not enjoy. I will now list them in a numbered list for your convenience.

1. Way, way, way too much story. It's slow, never-ending, and simply not good enough to warrant having so much of it. I straight up got to Portoga in the remake a few minutes ago. Walked into the king's chamber. The king straight up told me he'd give me a ship to explore the world if I can get him some pepper from the east. He gave me a letter to give to a dwarf to open up a passage to the east. Took about 30 seconds. If this was DQ11, it would have been a five minute cut scene with super slow and drawn out dialogue, complete with too-long pauses between each character speaking.

2. They're just too long. I put like 80 hours or something in 11, and it just kept going. You can see everything in DQ3 in like 40 hours.

3. Battles are too slow. What I love about the old school DQ games is the battles are so fast. I like the first person view. This is because I don't have to watch any lengthy animations of attacks. I play on ultra fast battle message speed. That's how it should feel. You can start a fight and win it in a matter of seconds. In 11, battles are just slow and sluggish.

4. The graphics. I don't like the modern 3d graphical style of games like 8 and 11. To me, it's ugly. Yes, it accurately portrays the original art design. But medium is a thing that affects how you perceive art. This art style looks fantastic in sprite form, and looks like hand drawn stuff. Even better in the remake when it's animated. So visually satisfying. In full 3d, it just loses too much. It reminds me of all those DBZ games (I know same artist).

5. Way too easy. DQ3 remake suffers a bit from this, it seems as if they tried to get it more in line with 11's difficulty. But yeah, during those 80 hours of 11 I felt like I didn't need to think or grind one single time. Just mindless. Like a baby RPG or something. Related to this, 11 is bizarrely linear. Like, on rails. You can't go exploring at all. Even when you get the ship, it still somehow feels on rails. As opposed to a game like DQ3, where it almost feels like you just stepped into Skyrim after you get the ship. The whole world is at your fingertips and you can choose what to do and where to go.

6. The towns just have too many people to talk to and they're too big. Honestly. One of my favorite things about the old school games is that the towns are so small and manageable. Some just have like two buildings. (lol) Getting to a new one feels good, because you can explore it fully and talk to everyone in just a few minutes. As opposed to DQ11, where you can spend your entire play session just going through and trying to make sure you've seen everything. This leads to pacing issues. Sometimes there's too much story. Sometimes there's too much town. Sometimes a dungeon is too long. Each play chunk just feels too long and drawn out. As opposed to DQ3, where you happily move from one distraction to another within the span of a few minutes.

I think that's mostly it. If I think of something else I'll post it. But what stands out mostly is too much emphasis on poor story and characters, too long of a playtime, battles that are too slow, graphics that are unappealing, difficulty that is too easy and linear, and the way the game paces the different gameplay segments.

Again, please don't be mad or upset if you love modern DQ games. There are things that I love that a ton of people hate and it's okay. This is just my hot take on the games. There are some positives I do like, such as the music that has stayed great, the callbacks to classic features like 8 bit sound effects of attacks and staircase traversal. I also do like the map system newer games have, where you can easily see the map of where you are. That's much better than having no map at all like the old games.

I haven't played it because it just looks bad to me (which is nuts, I've played every DA game on day one because I love the series).

So I can't say for certain because I haven't played. But I have seen youtube videos, and the dialogue looks absolutely, shockingly atrocious.

Does it do anything new or different than Monster Hunter World? That was my first Monster Hunter experience and it was fun for a few hours but I quickly got tired of the repetition and grinding.

If you don't like the repetition and grinding then you don't like MH, not matter what innovations they make. Grinding is the game.

Played the beta a while back when it released, I like it. (Although I never play these demos long, because there is no equipment crafting to keep me interested.)

The character creator is amazing though. It's real easy to make a hot chick. I went with a Gerudo style woman, fits real good with the setting, May post pics later.

I felt this way about Cersei's chapters in the Feast for Crows. It felt like every other chapter was her viewpoint. She's so profoundly awful and all the decisions she makes are unhinged and stupid that it almost made me quit the book.

She's literally the best part of that book.

I still have the original players guide book that came with the original nes game, and I still use it every time I play this game. Gonna use it here too.

DQ 3 and 4 just hit so different than all the other ones imo, especially the new games. Just something about that older sweet spot. So simple yet so satisfying.

Might be because the story segments are so quick and fast compared to the newer games.

Yes it's a Korean f2p mmorpg.

Been a while since I got into one. Makes me nostalgic.

I generally always prefer sequels and view them as upgrades to the original game, but this is one case where I prefer the previous Doom. Eternal just wasn't as fun for some reason. I think it is much harder, which is probably what did it. I don't want this style of game to be super hard. The first one was cathartic, the second was frustrating.
