eh, i don't think he needs to be. overall i think the numbers advantage and slight quirks with that team should avoid death by Lilith, which then should allow papa Nier, Alucard, and Diablo to beat Cloud, at which point Archer's screwed because they never killed Diablo.

and then it won't. which is part of why it's entirely possible Subby dies accidentally.
though it'll be a while before they meet so he should be fine. attackers have a lot of traveling to do to even get to the building of the terrain. they ain't meeting for at least 20m.

...normally i wouldn't consider it because 'reflect damage' is something i'd associate more for melee, though it does reflect magic damage back. so there's something to it there.

but not sure that matters enough. cloud could heal in a pinch.

nah, i'm not being rhetorical or sarcastic. only joke made is spearman as a pointman. which in fairness works because it's 100% true. "hm, a dinky bridge? hey spear chucking motorcycle guy, cross that for us would ya?"

there's a bridge right before the reactor (see tiro's vid) so that's the only concern to the match for me. how big a distance can diablo teleport? alternatively, how good is his range game? mages often need to be closer than not, a typical advantage to guns there. wily's machine can fly yeah, nier making a makeshift bridge is... interesting. or catapulting people. he should have time to be able to perform either thanks to airman too, that should provide reasonable protection against lilith's sniper fire.

it's mostly just a case of "how many can cross this safely." if they get close enough, in large enough numbers, they got a good shot. cloud's just one guy. alucard partially exists for me as "sub-zero can always stay irrelevant" because he's gonna die quick. the other side needs cloud and lilith to take out diablo + backup who will sac themselves first.


i don't mention sion much since i don't know the guy much. from what you've said, sounds like he's got some support abilities worth a damn though. that wall of souls sounds interesting for defense but i wonder if diablo can eat it for more power.

right. though your side is generally weaker, even with a neutered archer, it's not like the utility, numbers, and combat worth is bad. Alucard is still a good unit, Wily/Air still offer support, Cut/Spear offer bodies, one of which is probably the first to get shot at that, Diablo and Nier still have good combat worth.

but i'd sooner assume most of the fight takes place with the bridge in mind. Cloud can be on his side, Lilith and Archer on top.

if there's any issue, he could also just plain cut the bridge off. ability wording does say it's only attacks on the team he'll miss, so attacks on, say, the terrain... like a bridge they haven't reached... would still be accurate.


which would pose a different issue: if the bridge is cut off, who can attack lilith?

uh... well yeah, considering it'd take them a long, long time for them to get where the other side's at. i assume archer can carry lilith to the top of the reactor so she'd have a bird's eye view of them when they get on the bridge. archer would notice something is wrong when he can't kill a stationary person encased in a block of ice and would probably assume he's cursed or something. fortunately he's got a fellow sniper on the team and hey, they got a good position for anyone who can get up there. so really, that's the main chokepoint the match has i think - lilith sniping people off as they cross on a bridge.


the initial "HERE'S GODZILLA" stuff ain't valid anymore but papa nier is pretty damn good in his own right. air man still has utility against getting sniped as well, any significant wind change means significantly different results, which could be a strong counter to lilith after she shoots the spearman on a motorcycle who let's face it, is the... pointman.

he could, however, reinforce lilith's guns, bullets, and everything on cloud. it should be possible for him to, say, reinforce cloud's clothes beyond just whatever materia he's got.

none of this is an attack on diablo's team, therefore none of this would be missed. you'd basically just have a super tanky, super powerful cloud by virtue of a much more powerful weapon and much more durable "armor." speed is something he can't really do much to but not sure how much he needs to - that's the biggest thing cloud has going for him.

his main value is effectively support. support lilith sniping from a distance by telling her where they're going and where to shoot, support cloud by providing more buster swords.

thanks for the fix. issue still does remain that diablo, even taking double damage, has good meat shields and his team probably knows he shouldn't die.

but at least this way he'll realize that nothing he does is working <60s into the match and will effectively double as a scout.

...is the strategy on the other side basically "camp out with mako, archer sees everything, and lilith shanks anything that gets close as cloud plays bait/cleanup."

the only real alternative i see is cloud riding a rocket sword or infinite buster swords.
...actually he could just hand any projection to Cloud. basically support roles and camping strategies.

if they get stuck in a hole cutman will then just have swirling cutters as spearman stabs anyone trying to get out.
ultimately proving that spearman is the real danger in the match. if he can solo a tank, he can beat cloud.

he's always usable though. with the right setup he's great but it requires Wild Card abuse.
with enhancements he turns amazing. MP battery, massive DPS, constant super LB.

am now doing the true titan quest since this doesn't seem to be a permanent trial. just gotta get the timing down on the 4th turn hitting 60% so i don't get my 7K HP Snow Landslide'd away. his counter rate even at +1 is crazy.

and really the only thing i'm driving home here is that no, it ain't just conservatives that talk about her a lot. it ain't just their press either. while i wish that were the case, she's very much so making herself relevant, using old connections, getting extra special coverage, and establishing groups that keep some of her strength so she can continue to be in the public eye... and covered by liberal media too. only this time when she picks and chooses who she wants to be interviewed by, what the questions are, and what timeslot it should be, she's doing it as a private citizen who ain't gunning for office.

and i mean, i know shenmue 3 had a backer update just the other day saying it's delayed to second half of 2018 but like... are we really that dry?

like at this point the only JRPGs we should expect all show are on the 3DS, Switch, and PC. we know Atlus has some lined up there. Sony's got Ys 8 coming up and xseed always has something for them too but... neither?
