I just found out that Unlimited Sword being active at the end of a battle will disable Soul Hack on Noah. I guess I'll just have to kill those UMs again. >_>

Finally got my last X Gem. One thing I wish I figured out earlier was it is worth rerolling low level UMs to find a shiny one before farming it for Legendary level drops. It makes a big difference in drop rate. It is less useful for higher level ones since they drop the material often enough. And it goes without saying that if you are looking for a Common level drop, it is a bad idea to fight a shiny UM.

On Noah's side when I only had 3 characters before the Heroes join, I lost and the game just continues. Or at least I thought I did. Maybe the cutscene saved me at the last moment and I didn't notice. I'm not sure about the other parts of the battle when the party is split up. Overall I enjoyed the spectacle but sometimes it was a bit hard to tell what exactly was going on.

That Rex picture is something else isn't it? Like with Pyra and Mythra it sort of makes sense as the natual extension of how Xenoblade 2 ended. But, Nia came as a surprise. Also, I don't recall exactly what Xenoblade 2 said about Blades being able to have children. I think they sort of can since that's where new titans come from? I was also a bit disappointed how little the old Xenoblade 1 and 2 cast played in the main story. Even Melia and Nia don't show up until the very end. I sort of like how Xenoblade 2 did it where the developers lied and said the game was unrelated to Xenoblade 1 so it was a cool surprise when it turned out it wasn't. But Xenoblade 3 sort of felt like it was suppsed to have stronger connections but Xenoblade 1 and 2 stuff didn't really show up that often.

Wait, are the worlds actually just passing by each other? The two worlds splitting apart just seemed to come out of nowhere to me. I also thought the idea was that the two worlds were going to combine permanently until the ending where they suddenly weren't and I had no idea why.

I'm not sure what the very end scene was about. Like I think it was only the playable Noah that met up with Eunie and Lanz and that should have been inside the Endless Now.

If you don't need the Gems, there's no reason to grind for them. Also, it wouldn't surprise me if the DLC added some way to make getting the Gems easier somewhere down the line.

Are you going to upgrade all the Soul Hacker skills?

If anyone gets around to farming Raucous Ron for Legendary Pale Skeeter Wing, can you tell me if it feels like it drops them more often when above 50% HP. I'm probably just seeing things that aren't there but sometimes it feels like drop rates change when an enemy is above or below 50% HP.

I'll be happy to repeat everything when you play Xenoblade 3. =D

I'm still farming for Gem materials. So for here are the UMs I found to be uncooperative when farming for materials via Burst spam

Diabolical Rindolph - The platform he spawns on sucks. The drops keep falling off the edge or deactivate the topple

Naval Gyrus - Rarely drops common Glistening Krodlax Scale. The recommended alternate source are enemies near Vinisog Holm Camp. But to be honest, that was kind of a lousy source as well.

Sharpwitted Tracy - Rarely drops Legendary Mild Camill Powder. I went burst farming on Elite Sodorio Camill near Predator's Paw Landmark instead.

Gracious Titania - Literally refused to drop common Arachno Queen Egg. I fought the Arachno Queens in the same area instead. Before going in I had like 25 common Arachno Queen Egg but had no idea where they were from.

Indiscreet Gombaba - Rarely drops Legendary Golden Brog Oil. But I couldn't find a better source so I stuck with it. Farming for Tailwind X kinda sucks in general. So far it seems like a good coin target if you have 99 to spend.

Craven Piggard - Rarely drops Legendary Sweet Kapiba Lard. But, I couldn't find a better source either.

In general, farming common level drops from high level UMs or legendary level drops for low level UMs is kind of a pain due to low drop rate.

I guess it is one way of dealing with it if they wanted to keep Eunie's side quest as being optional. To be honest, I had spent a large part of the game assuming X couldn't die in the main story because it would mess up that optional side quest. The shock from the fact that we do off her might have meant something if she wasn't just treated as a nothing boss inside Origin. If Eunie's side quest was better, I might have preferred just making it mandatory instead because it sort of did introduce X who would play a role later on even if her end wasn't great.

So if you don't do Eunie's side quest, the room is just empty and the party can just go through it and beat the game. Then if they do Eunie's side quest later, X shows up in the room if the player revisits it for some reason. Do I have that right? That's really clunky if it works like that.

I pretty much had the same reaction to Origin. It's a pretty lousy dungeon and there's not much going on. X and Y were a complete waste which is a shame since I kinda liked X. Miyabi saying something, even if it was minor, would have been cool. I'm not sure how many extra scenes there are in the game for bringing a certain Hero along. I know of a few but I probably missed quite a few from not having the right Hero around. Although there are time where it feel like I have the right Hero but they don't say anything anyways. The part with X and Y not disappear is a glitch. I thought it was fixed in the new patch but I guess not. One thing I still have no idea about is what happens to Side Quest Eunie if you kill X first. Like Eunie's side quest is optional so I think it can be put off until after this point in the game.

Melia can do stuff because she's Melia and that's reason enough. >_>

I didn't dislike the N plotline as much as you seem to. But, my Noah actually going down the path of N and murdering everyone still feels like a stretch to me. It's hard to see him actually doing that.

For what it is worth, the Fire Emblem Heroes Twitter accounts went silent. They would normally Tweet about certain game events right now. So at least parts of Nintendo are taking the Queen's passing into account.

With that said, that doesn't mean there was a planned Direct next week. But, if there was it really might have gotten delayed.

After a character other than Noah has maxed all their classes, you can change them to a Lv99 character that stacks attack and crit, has a Gust Bracelet and uses pre-charged Raging Force to OHKO the enemies. This is actually even faster than using Doom.

It only took me a few hours and this was before they fixed cooking so it should be even faster now.

Farming X Gems takes a lot longer. It feels like it takes 1-2 hours per Gem even with cooking. Apparently getting the materials for Steel Protection X is particularly bad but I got lucky and bought that one with coins even before I knew how bad it was.

Dalm isn't available. People have long since made full lists of all the Gogols in the game and they've all been retested.

What does the game say it is supposed to do?

Oh, that's cool. I just started on the Gem material grind.

It's a funny coincidence if it wasn't intentional.

The body M was in at the time had hit the 10 year mark. As such, she was going to die that day. So when combined with the Homecoming, she also doesn't respawn.

Also, surely Ashera has made Homecoming a few times since the modern system was introduced. She apparently made it a bunch of times during the classic system where the person was just killed at the end and this was apparently a very long time ago.

Xenoblade 1 and Xenoblade 2 do the same thing. In Xenoblade 1, saving is disabled until you beat the game. Xenoblade 2 and Xenoblade 3 don't even give opportunities to save and is just cutscenes and battles to the end.

I don't think Homecoming normally takes the person out of the respawn cycle. I think the problem occurs when a person hits 10 or dies in some other way and has their Homecoming at the same time. That's how I interpreted N's comments.

Joren didn't come seem them when they were in jail for like a month, right? Although, Shania already took up the role of showing up to mock the heroes when they couldn't do anything and I feel like that what's Joren would have also been doing. So maybe Monolith didn't want to double up on that.

I feel like the eyepatch stuff was handled weirdly. Like the party really should be wearing them pretty much all the time since it is a life or death matter but they don't. I want to say they only really wear them in Cadensia and technically the party is in Aetia now but I guess you said you saw them wearing them in Upper Aetia so who knows?

The Colony Omega stuff was largely felt like an excuse to bring characters back from the dead for gameplay reasons. Like Ethel was still gaining exp while dead so something had to give there eventually. Before it happened, I sort of expected it might have been a post game thing where she's just playable without story justification.

Segiri and Colony 0 are great.

I like how the PotD assumes a person only has enough time to be playing one MMORPG at a time.

Xenoblade 3 ending spoilers in response to Mac Arrowny.

Is the the state of the world fully reverted? I wasn't really sure what to make of the ending scene with Young Noah at the very end. Prior to that it felt like the worlds would separate but continue onward. Like Mio explicitly mentions in a diary entry that a long time had passed since she last met Noah and her memories of him had started to fade a bit. I read that as the worlds continuing on separated from each other.

I forget if Riku's masterpon was given a name or not. Fixifixi is the nopon in the jail, right? I haven't done anything with him yet and he never says anything. I've been assuming he'll be part of a future quest. If he is and that's where the connection to Riku was revealed, then I haven't gotten there yet. If that's not where it is from, then I probably just forgot. This game just has so many names and character relations to remember.

Segiri's Hero Quest. I found it amusing when the party was talking about how it wasn't right that she was only given the designation of No. 7 instead of a name since Seven is a common codename to reference to a certain character from Xenoblade 1.

Good game!

Although, the Origin dungeon itself wasn't great. It was mostly just following a single path the whole time constantly getting into battles with enemies that are much lower level than I am. X and Y also showed up and got offed with little fanfare. How does Eunie's side quest work if X is already dead? Like her side quest was optional and presumably does not expire, right? The final battles with Z and associated cutscenes were good, though. But, I'm not really sure what happens to the people who were descended from N and M who weren't tied to one world or the other.

I sort of wish the game tied into Xenoblade 1 and 2 bit more than it did. I guess I liked Xenoblade 2's approach here more where the developers lied and said the game wasn't connected to Xenoblade 1 and it was a cool surprise when it turned out it was. Xenoblade 3 kinda felt like it would have stronger connections but in the end Nia and Melia don't show up until the end of the game. Even their fakes barely showed up. That picture of Rex, is really something else, though. Seeing Shulk's Monado put a smile on my face but doesn't really tell me anything about what happened to Shulk. Also nothing really came from the image of Uraya being cut in half by the Mechonis sword. It seems like that might have just happened due to merge conflicts or something rather than the result of a battle.

Nothing really came out of the Riku plotline. So I guess he was telling the truth that he wasn't really anyone special and just got the sword from his unnamed (?) masterpon.

Overall, I liked all the playable cast members and most of the guest Heroes. I'm not really sure the writers knew what to do with Sena. Lanz kinda already filled in for her role which didn't really leave much room for her. I guess Sena's side story turned into Ghondor's side story for a reason. >_>

From here I've still got to finish off a bunch of quests before going into NG+.

I'm also curious what happens in the Tau quest if the alliance is broken off. For the Tirkin Alliance quest I collected all the materials and handed them over. I'm not even sure how that quest ends if I didn't do that. Maybe we somehow trick them into continuing it even if we don't bring the collectables?

I also didn't use Interlink either in that Colony Mu quest. Was the option even available? I never tried it.

Ghondor is normally in Agnus Castle. If she isn't there, it might just be due to a current quest or something.

For what it is worth, Legendary Julia probably gets a Remix and a Refine next week.

Stories like this make me wonder just how much code gets reused from one version to the next. Like the series already has a reputation of just being the same thing but with updated players. One would guess that makes it easier to reuse a lot of code but it seems like that might not be if a bunch of things are breaking worse than in previous versions.
