Yes, the first arc is a bit full of thoughts like "Why should I care about them again?" and "Why am I listening to some strange story inside a story?" but the build up over time is great.

There is reason why this VN is somehow unknown and recommended as fuck at the same time.

There is no anime or other games behind it, as Steins;Gate or Fate have by now, and it isn't free or memeable as Doki Doki Literature Club.

The day I bought the VN spontanously on a gut feeling was a good day (I truly do this way too often), and there is a good reason why Fata Morgana is recommended by so many.

I just read some steam reviews again, and it's sad that I still have to say that in 2023:

Before buying and playing, check the Community board or vndb.org if they have some fanmade patches available.

I swear to god, some steam releases are outright abyssal in their quality.

It would not be the first time that I go to steam, buy a VN, and then keep it at 0.5 hours playtime because I was reading it elsewhere.

There are the girls, and you "choose their route", and the protagonist and them end up together here and there, but it never really goes loveydovey romance.

If you would want romance I would not recommend it for that, and if you don't like romance, I would not say that you have to avoid it.

"I like you, so I want to be here for you <romantic hug and tears flowing>" is probably the most romantic thing you will find there.

But that's my oppinion who loves a good romance story. Someone who activly dislikes that may measure it differently.

Even if you don't choose the Quest 3 in the end, there may be some decent price drop on the others.

If the art style doesn't disturb you, take a serious look at House in Fata Morgana

Dropping some recommendations played on the VNs I already read:

Wonderful Everyday (not for beginners and pretty heavy and extreme)
Clannad (don't even try to 100% this without a guide)
The House in Fata Morgana (Top! The first arc may be a bit strange)
Steins;Gate and Steins;Gate 0
Aokana (It's fine, a bit overhyped I think)
Rewrite
Little Busters (much better than the anime)
If my heart had wings (defintily worth 3)

There are also dozens of other VNs I know are great, but had not the time to read them at all. Many will tell me that my list is lacking, that X and Y are missing, and that I should be ashamed to not include them.

Until today I have not found a single way to even harm them with "skill", only with fusing shit to arrows and nuke them back to the hell they came from. And better do that ASAP as soon as they are in sight, because if they get close you are in more trouble than they are worth.

Meanwhile, Phantom Ganon can "just" be dodged and punished with patience and timing. If you get hit, you know exactly why, and what you should have done instead.

Yeah, doesn't happen at all anymore. If I don't finish a game it's usually because I got bored of it or play something else.

Last game I droped because it was getting to hard for me must be Ecco the dolphin for the PS2. If I remember correctly I was simply too slow for one of these timed door openers at the end.

I don't need some folding or flip phone with 100 downsides for some bigger display.

Now if it would give me a some true keyboard, to type better on my phone, I may think about it.

But the answer is probably going to be the same: Not worth it at all.

It's already quite some time I was there, and I don't remember the trash bins in that detail, but in 95% of the cases the trash we had on the road was a can or bottle anyways.

I honestly struggled to find trash cans in japan too, during my vaccation there.

Until I noticed that they are usually next to the vending machines.

I'm probably one of the few kids who had a SNES and a Mega Drive both.

And I would say SNES >> Sega.

I love Streets of Rage, Sonic & Knuckles and Ecco, these are probably some the most played games I had at this time, but I still can't put them above the SNES when I spent even more time with A Link to the Past, Super Mario World, F-Zero and other games.

Eh, I didn't use an ad block for a long time too.

I don't mind ads that much, and I know that the sites I visit depend on it. Wasn't worth the trouble of getting some ad block, especially when other sites stop working correctly or some ad-block-blocker.

But these stupid ads are growing more and more extreme by the month, not only here and other places too.

So, I had the re-evaluate the situation, and came to the decision that it was too much. Especially on mobile. So adblock it is now.

I just hate the comment structure and upvote/downvote stuff.
