I tend to start stocking up on Flamer ammo as soon as Diamond City becomes available, so that I have a good 2,000 round stock before I actually start using it regularly. Of course the Heavy Incinerator isn't as much of an ammo hog as the Flamer, and has a much better return on damage / crowd control even before boosting its usefulness with a mod.

I never had mice in my house in the past 20 years, until last year and its impossible to get rid of them. Its a nightmare

We fought a losing battle against a mice infestation for a couple years, and the only thing that finally stopped them was sealing off their point of infiltration (some little 1 1/2 in. pvc in the basement that led outside). We plugged that up, trapped the stragglers, and that was it.

I remembered him being pretty funny when I caught eps of the Aisha run at random over the years, but now that I'm watching them in sequence, it's become clear to me that he kills in just about every ep he's in; definitely my favorite of the new school of 4th members.

HBO Max has all the originals during the Drew hosting era. My girlfriend had never watched it, so I've introduced her to it and we're watching 6 or 7 episodes a week. She's loving it, but we constantly say "this could never be done now". Which is sad. I love the improv, tongue in cheek humor and the fact that the guests and audience participants can all take it in stride.

Also, Ohhhh, aye-dee-aye-dee-aye-dee-aye-dee-aye-dee-aye-dee-aye!

I think the only things that wouldn't fly today are the gay / trans jokes that were all the rage in the late 90's / early 00's. The Aisha Tyler-era show is still making new eps, and they're still quite good imo.

I don't. Is it on YouTube? That sounds interesting to see play out.

My family and I were making our way through the Drew era on The Seed until they got removed recently, not sure where you can see them now. It was basically 'Song Styles,' but in the form of an African chant where Wayne sang the lead and everyone else provided African-sounding chanting backup like a bad 'Circle of Life' parody. Ryan and Colin more than once made 'why the fuck are we doing this' faces at each other and in Drew's direction. Even my Trump-supporting parents looked at that those skits and said 'wow, that's gotta be offensive!' I think they only did the game two, maybe three times before Drew / the producers clearly came to their senses.

Don't you think that's a teensy bit self-defeating when you're fighting for the right of people to be born into this existence?

That was a rhetorical question, as it strikes upon the secondary reason I've experienced people being anti-abortion; they made 'good' life decisions by keeping their children, and thus want to punish people who made 'bad' life decisions, and force them to carry and raise the child. 'I suffered the consequences, so they should suffer the consequences too.' And just as it was in the OP's example, the motivation has nothing to do with the actual life of the unborn child.

Every reference and subversion of expectations in that show is for the benefit of people who grew up watching the original series (not to mention a plethora of other Disney properties from that era and beyond), not at their expense; we are definitely the target audience of that show.

Magic Kingdom > Epcot > Animal Kingdom >>>> Hollywood Studios

The top three are neck-and-neck at this point. MK still has the most fun attractions, but it's getting to be an overcrowded nightmare. Food is one of the things my gluttonous ass forward to the most on a DW trip, and Epcot can't be beat there. Animal Kingdom is a lot more enjoyable than it has any right to be.

There's really only one reason we as a family go to Hollywood Studios anymore, and that's because my mom's favorite ride is the Tower of Terror; none of us want to her her go alone, but due to a combination of reasons, I'm the only one able / willing to ride it with her. I love the ride once it gets going, but the anticipation leading up to the first plummet in pitch-blackness gets my nerves every time. Funny thing is, last time we rode it actually went up, not down on the first go - that made a world of difference to me. If the ride always went up instead of down at the very start, it'd be one of my favorite rides in the park.

It's kind of funny thinking back on how the different hosts respond to being the butt of the jokes; Clive Anderson rarely hit back iirc, Drew usually just defaulted on (jokingly) threatening to fire them, and Aisha typically gives as good as she gets.

Can't believe I'm going to do this but...I'm gonna go into Concord and do the Minutemen mission. That means settlers in Sanctuary, Preston Garvey, and a bunch of stuff I didn't want to do...

...all for that free minigun, which I'd forgotten about until now. Really, it's stupid how early they give players free heavy weapons and a suit of power armor, isn't it?

If you want to try and keep settlements out of the 'Preston loop' - in which you get stuck in a neverending cycle of Preston missions - accept whatever first settlement mission he gives you (it'll either be Abernathy Farm / USAF Station Olivia Raiders, or Tenpines Bluff / Corvega Raiders). Do the other settlement mission and complete it before turning the first one in (if Preston gives you Abernathy, finish Tenpines first). With both of those out of the way, Preston should then give you a mission to conquer an empty location (will most likely be Starlight Drive-In, could on rare occasions be Sunshine Tidings). Put this new quest (and Preston himself) on indefinite ignore, and go about securing settlements in your own time. This way you can claim all the vacant / abandoned settlements on your own without being forced to recruit settlers (you can do this later on your own time). Staying out of the Preston loop also gives you the benefit of recruiting populated settlements at your leisure, as opposed to whenever Preston's RNG ass feels like it; if Preston's sent you on a mission to help County Crossing but you want to recruit the Slog, odds are that the game will prevent the necessary kill-the-enemies quest dialogue with Wiseman from occurring until Preston finally sends you there.

Keeping existing populated settlements out of the Preston Loop is trickier; sometimes the quests will completely automatically, sometimes they'll force you to talk to Preston to conclude them. I had some really good luck this playthrough very early on when I stumbled upon one of the Oberland settlers kidnapped in the Cambridge metro tunnel; problem was that the quest didn't officially begin until I returned her home, at which point it forced me to talk to Preston. So I reloaded an earlier save, went to talk to the remaining settler at Oberland first to get the quest, saved the kidnapped settler and returned her again, and the settlement became available and quest concluded without needing to talk to Preston. From that point on I was able stay out of the Preston loop until every settlement on the map save Starlight and The Castle were aligned; finally I did have to secure Starlight and talk to Preston about the Castle, but I was only stuck in the loop for about 3-4 generic clear-area missions before he gave it a rest.

Wind Waker ranks so high with me largely on the distinction that it's the only time in the franchise where I've genuinely been invested in the characters and story. BotW started damn-strong with the air of melancholy surrounding your failure 100 years ago, and that all your closest friends are dead and gone, but rarely lived up to its first impression in this regard (partly due to some rather bad and unnecessary voice acting). So I guess Link's Awakening is the runner-up in this category.

And WW's story strength was largely due to Ganondorf, who for once was an actual character with motivation. Though it's possible that I'm giving WW Ganondorf extra points simply for doing such a heel turn away from OoT's dorky-ass rendition of the franchise's archvillain.

The game will always hold a special place in my heart for being the first Action-RPG I ever played, and bridged the gap between Link to the Past and Final Fantasy 6. And the soundtrack and charm of the world / art design still hold up imo. But yeah, the gameplay was bad even back then, I just accepted it because I loved the game otherwise.

The one thing the gameplay did that I loved / appreciated even as a kid was that it let you touch enemies (and even shove them around) without taking damage; they had to actively attack you to hurt you.

You must've made that your home base, huh? I've built cement walls all around the place too, but after seeing how prefab stuff lowered settlement size, I decided against it and just built upward. I should try using those powered doors sometime -- see 'em sometimes but don't really bother. I guess you hook 'em up to a laser tripwire to open it on one side and prevent access from the other later?

Oh no, I learned a long time ago for stability's sake to keep my loot-dumping home base and heavily-built / decorated settlements separate. Anymore I usually store my important gear / loot in the Noir Penthouse Creation and overflow loot in Home Plate. Exterior settlements are just for fun RP building and stores. I'd always wanted to turn the Slog into a full-blown marketplace with vendors in bikinis (it is a swimming pool, after all), and finally got motivated to do it. Next project is to turn Nordhagen Beach into a boardwalk-style seaside market.

The powered doors make for great barriers if you're trying to keep enemies out; the large garage-style door especially makes for an excellent front gate. Just hook them up on one side or the other to a power switch and shut it off when you want it closed (or rather, leave it off / closed by default and only power it up when you need to get through). Enemies won't turn the power on, so you can quite effectively shut them out.

I want to say the big draw there is a chain lightning effect, similar to one of the upgrades for the Automatron weapon. So you'd gather a group of angry Ferals or whatever and then blast the whole group.

That's a big thing that drew me to it. The Tesla Cannon, like Hellfire Armor and Heavy Incinerator before it, are among the very few things I genuinely miss from Fallout 3 (NV uncharacteristically ruined the Tesla Cannon and its variants for me, first by making the ammo consumption ridiculously prohibitive, and later by patching out the AoE blast).

I started getting pretty reliant on Oxhorn's reviews of FO4 CC content; he seems to pick up on the little things that could make or break the deal for me. For instance, I was debating whether to buy Gunners vs. Minutemen yesterday since it too was on sale, and my chief 'little detail' question was whether or not the Quincy Gunners respawn after clearing the area; fortunately he addressed this very question (seems like they do, which was what I personally was hoping would happen).

Anyway, he had a pretty positive review of the Tesla Cannon and it seemed to be pretty powerful, so I told myself I'd pick it up next time it was on sale. On the other hand, I saw a post on Beth.net saying that the weapon carried a bug similar to the recon scope that could turn on-guard NPCs auto-hostile, so that made me hesitant. But I said hell with it and bought it anyway; worst case scenario, it's two bucks wasted.

The only thing he's done that I genuinely hated was altering the Watchmen ending.

Beyond that, *shrugs shoulders.* The only DC character I loved prior to the DCEU was Batman, and Bats already has enough quality movies under his belt that a couple of Snyder stinkers didn't really bother me.

If you have any tips or feedback on mine I'd love to hear. I'm kinda working on developing my style right now but I'd love to get close to your level.

Just practice, practice, practice. I assume you're drawing digitally, which is insanely forgiving compared to physical media, giving you all kinds of opportunities to correct mistakes.

If you're going to draw characters, proper anatomy is the foundation upon which everything else rests; this is true even if you're aiming for a cartoonish and / or anime style. Get some full, high-res pictures of naked bods and really study them, and how every part of the body relates to the others. I'm not a master when it comes to anatomy / proportions, but I have picked up some tricks over the years: the palm of the hand is a pentagon, not a square; toes sit along the end of the foot in an arch, not a line, and the second toe actually sits higher than the big toe on the arch, and typically lines up tip-to-tip with the big toe; the belly button is typically the midpoint of the torso, and the armpits more or less like up with the belly button when standing at attention; the foot is typically the same length as the forearm; things like that. Once you internalize these things, it becomes much more natural to compose an entire figure. And you probably already know this, but it's of great benefit to sketch a barbie-doll nude figure underneath first before adding clothes, so that you get a much more accurate interpretation of how the clothes fit over the body.

I think the biggest thing that sticks out anatomy-wise in your OP drawing is that her ear's sticking out a little too far from her head, and the head / hair behind it is elongated as a result. This is something I still have trouble with personally and often have to go back and fix, so I sympathize :)

Yeah, the Hunting/Sniper Rifle is garbage. It COULD have been good if the .50 cal receiver was worth a damn, but instead it just functions as an 'Advanced' receiver. The .50 cal should have had a +100 base damage effect to be worth consideration.

Bethesda does sell a decent rifle separately.... -_-
The Manwell Rifle combines the damage of a Gauss Rifle with the handling mechanics of a Combat Rifle. The suppressed barrel also doesn't drop effective range, as it does with all the vanilla weapons.

I'm still salty that you need a mod to make the Anti-Materiel Rifle worth a damn. One of the Creation Club's biggest downsides (apart from the price) is that the weapons they put out are more often than not severely underpowered (which again, stings all the more when you remember you paid premium price for this stuff). But them making the Anti-Materiel Rifle damn-near useless was a grave insult.

That's why I like to make special note of when a CC weapon actually delivers on power / fun, like the Alien Disintegrator. Heavy Incinerator does a great amount of damage with full investment in Heavy Gunner + Demo Expert (Hellfire Armor + HI is one of the few things I loved about Fallout 3 enough to want them back in mod / CC form; got a great HF Armor mod a long time ago, but there was never a good HI mod to compliment it), but still needs a mod to fix the range, rate of fire, and pathetic ammo capacity. I just bought the Tesla Cannon when it went on sale yesterday, and am interested to see how it holds up. Can't say I've yet been interested in paying money for the Manwell Rifle or the CR-Whatever Rifle, but if they're on sale again I might change my mind.

Yes. Horseback riding turned out to be one of my few natural talents, mostly due to have a deep, soothing voice and not being afraid of them. The downside is that I'm very allergic to horses, so I didn't stick with it.

Seems like I rarely get past the sketch / lineart phase these days, but here's a couple random no-context pieces from abandoned side projects:

They're likely going to announce (among other possibilities) a Fallout 4 SE and Skyrim Super-Duper-SE for Series X and PS5, bundled with all the existing Creations for each game; if they do, them announcing (quietly) that they're discontinuing mod and Creation support for XB1 / PS4 would probably follow.

New Creations have been in limbo for over a year; the last batch in late 2019 caused a significant dip in Fallout 4's stability, and they've also been mum about fixing it beyond 'we're working on it.' A rerelease of Fallout 4 and a rererelease of Skyrim (because why not, you'll buy it) would allow them to more quietly abandon last-gen support. People seem to think that MS has their own version of a mod setup / paid mods planned, though that's just rumors; and there's also speculation that Bethesda has been throwing their company reputation in the toilet for the past two years through outrageously-priced microtransactions to raise the company value for the inevitable buyout, and they might abandon those things now that that's over.

Bethesda is actually shutting down their official site forums within the week, and I don't think that's a coincidence; I feel there's a decent chance they're going to announce something that will anger their core fanbase (such as 'sorry if you've been waiting over a year for a patch / new content but you're shit out of luck, please re-buy these games'), and no longer want to deal with the burden of putting those fires out at home.
