To be honest the selling off of video game related stuff started off last Christmas when I RMT'd away both my Runescape and Path of Exile assets. This is just the next part of the process of getting rid of stuff I haven't had any use for for at least 10 years now and goes along with how I am donating a large amount of my excess clothes away (much of which doesn't even fit me anymore and hasn't for years). Clothing donation is easy, but i'm more annoyed that the email I sent out to the local game store hasn't received a reply, but that is largely because they are moving locations.

I think I could probably hardwareswap away the graphics cards I have. Maybe the consoles too. It's moire about getting rid of excess stuff as I don't like having excess stuff in general.

Secondhand store if you just want a safe place to get it over with and don't care about getting the most money you can for it. Craigslist if you want the most amount of money for it and can handle the awkwardness and potential danger (however unlikely) of meeting people in person. eBay if you want a medium where it's pretty safe but they do take a little cut.

If you do CL look into if your local police station has an area where you can do those transactions. Maybe I'm a little bit paranoid but I personally wouldn't go around selling hundreds or thousands of dollars of stuff in person to a stranger. An individual game here and there, sure. Aside from the safety aspect, selling as a lot will also most likely get less value than doing them individually.

Not like you have to choose only one thing. If it was me I'd probably sell the higher value games on eBay individually and then package some lower value ones together as a lot (whether it's to sell on eBay or CL).
Thanks for the advice about selling. I haven't really sold anything online before.

This was after a month of him "being in a rush" and refusing to apply any of my review comments to his own reviews. Now that it's my turn to have code reviewed of course I have to obey his every whim because double standards.

The thread I got the idea from was about Pizza. Breakfast is around $10 less than dinner and I was thinking about it and if I forced myself to eat out (and only eat out) I would have less crap inside of the apartment and force myself to eat certain times of the day / certain foods, specifically protein and vegetable rich foods. One of my favorite lunches / dinners is a cast iron skillet chicken with peppers and onions that a local restaurant serves which I could probably make at home, but going out to eat means that I actually exercise which is worth the extra money.

If Delta and Lokarin can do it (for years no less), surely my life is interesting enough to do it now that I'm no longer being held against my will by my mother.

Today I woke up, took a 10 minute walk to the cafe and had breakfast. Meat Lover's Omelette. Cost me $15 but if I don't have an appetite until this afternoon I'll claim it is a win and do it tomorrow as well. Walked 2 miles and the whole ordeal took approximately an hour.

Actually thanks, this thread may have given me a really good idea of going for a jog at 6, going to a local diner, having breakfast and returning by 8. Breakfast is generally really affordable (and protein rich) and it would be cool to do as I've been trying to establish not trying to eat food after 1pm unless it's a snack in the evening (although that can mess with IF).

Also I'd been bored for a few hours and you gave me something to think about / research.

Yea you are cutting so many corners for quality and getting pre-processed crap like bacon bits. I am trying to create Greek-style Pizza (fresh oiled dough, pan pizza), with fresh ingredients. As I develop my strategy I'm going to look into different toppings, but I can only feasibly cook 1 pizza a week because of how little food I actually eat.

But your prices are quite good. They are less than mine, but I am creating full sized pizzas with actual pizza dough. Still better than spending 10x the price for takeout.

because buying all the shit for a pizza costs more than getting a pizza delivered, and id have to actually make it.
That is a Pepperoni, Ham, and Onion Pizza.
I had 2/3 of the toppings in my fridge (Ham / Onion from sandwiches I regularly make).

Pizza dough was $4.99
Pizza Sauce was $2.99 and you can make 2 Pizzas with a bottle.
Cheese was $3.29 and you can make 2 Pizzas with a bag.
Pepperonis were $2.25 and you can make like 4+ Pizzas with a bag (I snack on them).
An onion is like $0.99 and you use like 1/3 of one per Pizza.

That is like less than $10.00 for a pizza.
I get at least 3 meals out of a Pizza when I add a side (e.g. French Fries / Onion Rings)
Even with the French Fries / Onion Rings it still costs < $3.50 for a meal.

At a local restaurant you're looking at $15+ for a Pizza and $6.50+ for some fries / onion rings and then there is tax on top of it so you're looking at like $25 for the restaurant equivalent and that is assuming you have self control and don't eat all of the takeout fries at once. It is not abnormal for a Large 3 topping Pizza in my area to cost $20+.

Keep in mind my convection oven can fit a 16'' Pizza (which this is).

You are so far off on how much stuff costs it's delusional.

With the advent of breakfast cereal people started eating smaller and smaller meals in the morning and shifting the big meal to the evening. But since you're not generally doing much physical activity after supper, your body has nothing to do with that energy except store it as fat.
Exactly. That's what all of the literature I am ingesting is telling me and is also what my body is telling me as well. When I read online about why people don't do this the only replies I seem to find are people who don't feel like eating in the morning, which is weird to me because I'm starving when I wake up and really need something to get me going. I'm not at all hungry in the afternoon / evening (e.g. right now would be dinner time).

Basically:

5am-6am: Brunch
12pm-1pm: Linner

Basically I want to break free of traditional meal tropes and have a healthy & balanced two meal day where I IF tthe other 16 hours a day. I'm thinking this will focus my eating during the part of the day I need it most (when I am working in the morning and actually hungry) instead of at night where I am lazy, sometimes working, but don't need as much energy.

For a diet, I am thinking of a balanced set of meals where the combination of the two meals try and hit every part of the food pyramid dropping crap that I just have no interest in eating, or just isn't as filling. Most of the meals would have a starch base (e.g. rice is fantastic for this, but so aren't noodles and pizza / pie / calzone dough) mixed with a meat and a vegetable with a side of fruit. Dairy would be integrated in as an addon (e.g. cheese on pasta) or via yogurt. Not a huge egg fan but I'm willing to try them again as it's been a few decades since I really had them. Vegetable preference would be any kind of hardy / fiber rich vegetable like Corn / Peas / Carrots / Green Beans as I prefer those over leafy / deep green vegetables. Onions and Peppers are also great here as they can be easily integrated in the same way and extend to other kinds of food like as pizza toppings.

Also you'll notice there are basically zero artificial sugars here. I drink primarily water and have for years. I plan on getting my caffeine intake from other means (e.g. caffeinated gum).

Any thoughts on this?

hobby

Please, please tell me how many more hobbies I need. I work Monday to Friday, 5am to 2:30pm (roughly). I will use the time after that to walk to stores and whatnot. Window shopping if you will. I have money, but there's only so much money I'm willing to spend in a week and so many things I can buy.

I've picked up playing card games on Friday nights, specifically Pokemon. The game store I go to does Wargaming on Tuesdays, Flesh and Blood on Wednesdays, Commander, on Thursdays, Pokemon + Vanguard on Fridays, Pathfinder on Saturdays, and Lorcana on Sundays. The issue is that the amount of people who actually attend is pitiful and it's a bit discouraging to me. Also I can only budget so much to buying pieces of paper.

Okay, I still have SOME time to play video games, but they largely aren't new or interesting to me. I dropped $80 on the FFT Remake and Hades 2 today. I'll get some good time out of both of these (currently doing a hard mode run of the FFT Remake) but because I don't like video games doesn't mean that I'm "depressed" especially as I've been saying for years I don't like video games, and me quitting STO basically allowed me to get control over my life after 15 years of basically being someone's servant.

I've also picked up cooking, because you like need to cook to survive. I hate takeout (expensive, usually meh quality food and I'm having a good time working on the apartment. Basically I purchased a hole in the wall that needed some work done to it to make it mine. I'm handy to a degree and I've been having fun with that, but that can also only go far (also things cost money) and there are some things like a Washer and Dryer I did the math on (and the time optimization on) that basically make it non-trivial for my whole load of laundry a week (which costs me $6-7 to do at a laundromat)

And yea, what else have I done recently that's hobby-ish? I've been doing some programming on the side (far less recently, the move disrupted that) and I've invested into AI stuff recently (I just bought a 7900 XTX for AI, not for gaming but once again, there's only so many hours I can invest a week, and the topic is adjacent to work as the AI parts I'm interested in are all related to software development (e.g. agentic coding).

What's left? "Go to the gym". I'm already spending a good deal of time outside walking (because I have some blockers preventing me from learning to drive right now, but those should clear up soon), but join a gym? I've actually debated it because I'm not against it, but I'm still a few pounds underweight and I'm monitoring that for the time being as well (I'm trying not to change my diet too much from before and after the move).

I genuinely cannot emphasize how much I've changed in the past couple of months. The "depression" you guys saw over the years was because I was in a situation I genuinely felt that I could not escape, but someone dear to me helped me get out of it when I finally grew the balls to ask them - and I wasn't even going to ask them in the first place.

The difference between me and other people is that I don't like being lazy / slacking off / relaxing. I like to be constantly doing stuff. That makes finding enough stuff to fill the holes difficult and some of the things that people do to fill those holes (e.g. going to a bar, collecting random shit, watching tv) don't appeal to me.

So seriously, I have actually made changes in my life. Old dog shit on the floor Judgmenl doesn't exist anymore, and only existed because a psychopath was controlling my life. Now that part of my life is over, I feel like I can actually talk about it now.
