It's the best adaptation of the books.

Which isn't saying much when the other adaptation is that Sci-fi channel original series.

Yes his brother is a far right chud. I knew that. And he might be one too. I have heard though that his views align with his father in law so I don't think he's a Trump supporter.

I don't like Pratt as an actor because of his lack of range but really I see no reason to hate him because of who he might be.

It's been a while so I had to look it up. Sounds like a story came out that said he went to Hillsong church, which is said to have practiced gay conversion. Pratt responded and said he's never been there and goes to a different church called Zoe Church, of which Elliot Page says is anti-lgbtq.

I thought he praised the Church (hillsong) for being pro-LGBT, Elliot than pointed out Hillsong's history of being anti-LGBT including promoting conversion therapy. At that point conservative YouTubers started attacking Elliot and defending Chris and the Church.

Then later Chris himself came out against the Church.

Was there really any instance of Chris himself saying anything anti-LGBT? It seems like guilt by association mostly.

Only someone whose well off and stealing from the government is more likely to stay quiet when they miss a payment as they don't need it.

We've literally just seen this in the UK where the conservative party wasn't seen as far right enough so they introduced the Reform party. Reform syhponed 15% of the votes nationally and allowed Labour (Moderate right wing party) to get a dominant win despite most of the population being well on the right.

If Reform didn't exist, Conservatives would have won comfortably.

I think it kind of depends on what you didn't like about GoT. There's some sex, but not as much as GoT. There's people vying for power, but not as in depth as GoT. There's some blood during battle scenes but nothing overly gorey or anything.

I love game of thrones. My problem is Amazon clearly wanted their own dark and edgy fantasy series with brutal violence and sex. Problem is Wheel of time didn't fit that mold. I wouldn't be surprised if the people making the show always wanted it closer in feel to the books but had to do what Amazon wanted. Maybe only now for season three are they given more freedom to do what they wanted. So they course corrected to make it more accurate.

I'm nostalgic for when the Cubs won the world series.

Donald Trump's victory has totally screwed over conservatives in Canada. And I love it.

Tens if not hundreds of thousands of people already lost their jobs thanks to him. Plus he wants to end the CHIPs act which is creating jobs. So no I do not.

Yeah he will just arrest and deport American citizens. And his followers will cheer it on.

This isn't sustainable but man will a lot of damage be done before everything collapses. Trump and his people will be unable to pick up the pieces.

You have people in Germany trying to repeat what Hitler did. And they are gaining support. They lost this time but if things continue.

And look at where Russia currently is too.

This is a pendulum and right now we are in going high toward the right. Now eventually it will swing downward and things will get better for a while. But who knows how long "eventually" is.

Pretty low. My fear isn't that we won't survive Trump and start recovering. No my fear is during the middle of the recovery the American people turn on the people fixing things for not being "fast enough" and in four to eight years we are back to someone even worse. We will need a long time to recover and sadly easy answers are always tempting.
