I love the show. The S4 finale was really good. Curious to see where it goes from here.

It can be odd to watch sometimes since Elisabeth Moss is a Scientologist, and from I recall from interviews doesn't see a connection between her character, and her "religion".

The "virus stages" as they're called are a pain, and an eye sore. Everything is a callback in some form. Stage 1 is based on QuickMan with the Shadow Devil as the boss. Stage 2 has elements from Sigma Stage 1 from X1, and you fight Rangda Bangda MkII (the wall face thing from X1, Sigma Stage 2). Stage 3 is mostly spikes and rope grabs. This is the only one you need to enter as plain X to get the armor. The fight against Zero is epic (because of the music). The boss rush is just tedious. and finally Sigma himself whose forms are a callback to X1 form 1, and Gamma, the final boss of MM3.

From 1 to 2 to 3, I think they got easier as they went along.

I agree with this as well. MM1 was the last of the original six that I played and I was already well versed with the others. This one was fairly difficult due to the different mechanics. The Yellow Devil was a pain to contend with. All these years later it has become much easier, but still the hardest of the three.

MM2 is decent yet very flawed.

MM3 is my overall favorite, but it's flawed as well. The fortress stages are just way too easy. I can get through the whole fortress in about 10min.

I still don't know why they named the Mavericks after Guns N Roses.

As the story goes the wife of one of the programmers changed the names one day to GnR as he was a fan of the group. She didn't tell anyone and they just kept it in, but the manual still lists their original names.

So on one hand, the boss fights have been pretty easy so far. I beat Volt Kraken and Crescent Bear pretty easily.

On the other hand, I'm using the Fourth Armor. And I'm concerned that it makes the game a cakewalk, but there's no incentive for me not to use it.

They're also very easy with their weaknesses. I guess the challenge is to go buster only or use Zero.

Good news, guys: I just got the part for legs. And Dr. Light's hologram is sentient apparently, because he knows about the Sigma virus and Alia.

I think of him as a hard light hologram that gets around, continues to observe and learn, and builds the armor pieces accordingly, distributes the capsules, etc. You'll understand more at game's end.

Ah Tidal Whale's stage...

Shooting the vulnerable parts just helps slow down the attacks, but you have to fight each part later as a miniboss anyway and they regenerate regardless. At least it's weak, especially if you use the armor's charge shot.

A few details about the game without going too spoilery. I'll still add the spoiler tags.

1. Alia is going to drive you crazy.
2. Unlike X4 where you can select either the X game or Zero game here you can select who to play as for each stage and whether X has armor or not.
3. The intro stage is the first key thing. If you select X then he'll have his X4 Force Armor, but Zero will lose his arm cannon. If you choose Zero he'll keep it, but X won't have the armor for the whole game.
4. There are two armors to collect now, but you can't use them until you have all the parts.
5. Rescuing Reploids is introduced here. It's pointless and all they do is award you health and 1-ups.
6. Dying has no meaning in this game as when you return to a stage after a game over you're put right back in whichever area you died in. This includes the boss hallways.
7. The stage designs are pretty bad (but it's far worse in the later games)
