Her stats are good I guess for a 2 cost if you can play 3-4 cards around her but I don't like how hard she influences my play both on turn 1 (playing something like Nightcrawler or Squirrel Girl are both not optimal) and then also forces me to play cards in her zone. I feel like her stats aren't worth the loss of flexibility

I like to see that they are buffing poorly used cards in an attempt to get them into atleast some level of use

It was literally part of Hearthstone's design that they would put cards into expansions that weren't worth using, and they would basically never ever buff cards - only nerf cars if they became extremely oppressive. That meant a lot of the collection was pretty useless. Neat to see the opposite here.

Hmmm stacking in things like Infinaut for the discard to get with Ghost Rider does seem like a good way to focus a deck towards Ghost Rider....

It's been my favourite archetype basically as soon as I got Apocalypse, but it was basically "i only have a few discard cards and fill it with whatever else to make it work" with Sword Master, Lady Sif, Blade, and Wolverine for awhile and I just stuffed any card related to discard that came along (Swarm, Morbius, Moon Knight, Ghost Rider)

I just bought Black Cat from the shop and then immediately right after pulled Colleen Wing from a cache - now I'm finally at hte point I need to think about what I'm trying to do

I look at cards in a few groups:

Cards that can discard

Blade, Sword Master, Lady Sif, Moon Knight, Colleen Wing, Black Cat (Discards herself)

Cards that want to be discarded

Apocalypse, Swarm, Wolverine

Cards that want discards to happen in general

Morbius, Ghost Rider

So the goal is to get good value out of the cards that want to be discarded - which Apocalypse and Swarm both do. The trick is just making sure they get discarded. Wolverine is OK to be discarded - but I don't know that it's *great* value when he does. Just a free 3 point body on the board. I feel like he's here as a placeholder for something better to come along - but only have two cards that want to be discarded feels not great.

Morbius and Ghost Rider are nice bonuses that benefit as things are happening. Realistically the game isn't in a state that I should try to discard something every turn, so they are good plays there. The sucky thing is just that they may get caught in the crossfire of being discarded.

I think Black Cat is good.... she thins the hand to make it easier to target a card I really do want to discard, and makes it a lot more likely Ghost Rider will have something good to pull. Worst case I just actually play her as a 3/6 which seems good.

Colleen Wing is a good ad - I can finally target Swarm - and copying Swarm reduces the risk that cards I don't want discarded get hit when I use the rando discards. However - is aiming for this actually any good.... it feels like Swarm getting out of control means Apocalypse is going to never get discarded again. Turn 6 can still be strong if there's space for the Swarm, but if not, not having the big Apocalypse drop seems weak

I tried using Strong Guy recently - but getting rid of every card seems tough even in a Discard deck. Since he doesn't actually help my discarding game plan and he doesn't always come online, he seems like I should cut him for the new cards. But maybe Black Cat will make him better?

I'm kinda wondering if I need to tone down the "every card should be discard related idea" and fill in with different cards, and maybe there needs to be different kinds of discard decks working towards different goals. Not sure though.

What are people thinkin about discard?

I find the biggest telltale of a bot is (besides nonsensical moves that are too dumb to be a player) - constantly playing instantly every turn. Sometimes a player just makes a move before you do so when you end turn, the turn instantly ends, but if that's happening every turn even when you play quickly it's probably a bot.

the thing about Leader is that sure, he can copy a big body, but if there's synergy that's really enabling the strength of your 6 cost, it *probably* won't be as effective on the other side of the board. I feel like mirroring your opponents play exactly is inherently weaker than the effect the opponent should be getting overall.

Yes, he can be called elsewhere through Jubilee, Hela, Lockjaw, etc. The card says it can only be played to the left. Play is specifically when you choose to place the card from your hand to the location for its energy cost. No restrictions on him if he wasnt played.

There arent any cards like this yet, but I imagine if they wanted to limit one in that way the wording would be that it can only be in X location, like how Space Throne says only one card can be here for each player,

Can you explain the Space Throne? It says "played" but I've never managed to move or otherwise insert cards there except when playing cards before it gets revealed.

Yeah, Swarm didn't get discarded until the final turn. I would describe my discard luck there as "not great" as the very first Moon Knight discarded Ghost Rider which was my intended turn 4 play.... after that I hard committed to Moon Knighting the opponents entire hand away. The only "beneficial" discard I got was Wolverine on turn 5 where he got played middle - where I had no shot of beating Death.

Thinking about it logically though - I shouldn't have played Swordmaster and the left Moon Knight in The Big House on the final turn, since the opponent not playing anything until the final turn indicated they probably didnt have 1,2, or 3 cost cards the whole time - and probably wouldn't have been able to play anything in that zone. So I should have played Swordmaster and Moon Knight mid to tie against Death or played Swordmaster right - which would have ended up tying with Agatha. In both cases I still lose, but would have given me more opportunity to win.

i grabbed that sunspot deal for 6k gold which gives 8k credits, and now i have over 12k credits... and the max is 5k. i can't accept credits from anything including missions until i drop below 5k again

Fast Upgrade does not have the same normal credit upgrade cost, it also costs 5 credits per booster you don't have. Credits are much harder to come by than boosters are (since you can only earn as many credits as you have missions, while boosters are awarded for every game you play) so you should literally never do the Fast Upgrades.

On the Collection screen, at the bottom right you can change how the cards are sorted, one of the options is "Upgradeable"

Before making that post I googled my question first and I saw some kind of article stating exactly what you just said here but the logic just doesn't check out for me

Every now and then I'm like "ok i only have 300-500 credits maybe I should chill on the fast upgrades so I can upgrade whatever I get boosters for" but then I end up at 1200-1500 credits with nothing to spend it on so I just dump em.

Checking out the prices, I was like "ok am I just wasting 350 credits to upgrade this guy?" so i went to check that card in my collection and it'll cost 300 to upgrade even when i get the boosters, so the amount I'm paying now is marginal + I get to move up collection level and probably recover that extra amount back as those 50 credit tiers,

If I'm ever sitting with a ton of boosters and no credits to upgrade I can just stop fast upgrading for awhile to catch them up, doesn't seem that tough though. The game throws tons of credits at you every day if you do your quests.

I've basically bought out the fast upgrade shop every day i've logged in to play since I started playing about a month ago. I'm sitting at literally 0 credits right now so that's why I was curious what everyone else does =)

Any reason not to just spam Fast Upgrades every chance you get?

It has the normal credit upgrade cost you would have to spend anyways so it doesn't seem like I'm actually spending much extra credits, and pushing through collection level seems good.

Also anyone know an easy way to find what cards are available for upgrade in your collection? As my collection grows, scrolling through it to see the one or two cards with that barely visible sparkle to it is just awful. That makes me want to quit playing the game more than anything else.

FFXIV is a masterpiece and tbh totally worth trying as single player FF fans. The main story quest is essentially a very long single player story experience with few MMO elements really impacting it. It's cast is top tier and incorporates so many elements from other FF games it's unbeleivable. FF fans should all give it a go imo.

Is Discard really popular?

It's what *I* play the most because its my favourite, but i have like 6 other decks I play that I also think are just as strong so I'm puzzled why it's all I seem to run into.

I played through all the pixel remasters this year and it was a real joy. Absolutely worth $75 for the bundle.

What does that stream mean? The website says they are going to play through FF1 to FF15 but there's no way that's right.

I thought a lot of the trailers look really interestingly stylized. The yellow aestehtic leaning really deep into this being the EDGY BOYS seemed cool - but then I see the game and it's pretty generic iron Man and Doctor Strange in their bright normal colors acting like knock off versions of the characters.

Kinda annoying to begin with they couldn't just lean into characters like Blade, Ghost Rider, Magik, Nico etc and just HAD to bring in the big normie characters like Iron Man, Captain America, and Spiderman - but then it looks like the game actually isn't really carrying forward that trailer aesthetic anyways.

The gameplay I'm kinda 50/50 on. If they'd stuck with the tone I thought it was gonna have I'd probably give it a shot, but eh. Probably not.

I know. That statement is an entire textbook worth of examples of attempting to manipulate your way out of a situation. There's emotional appeals for sympathy, weaving a narrative of conspiracy behind rivals actions, personal attacks on some key characters to try and create another villain to divert the hate to, using clipped logs intentionally leaving out context that changes the nature of the conversation. and plenty of just straight up lies.

I'm not really sure why. I've seen discussion on it but when I try to write out the math I don't really get there.

I read some Thunderbolts comics that had Red Hulk, Punisher, Elektra, Deadpool, and Venom and it was so fucking cool. But I guess that's not really what the Thunderbolts are all about since that's a bunch of anti heroes, not a bunch of villains pretending/trying to be heroes.

can someone explain to me how this guy played Captain America and Devil Dinosaur on Turn 6

this is the order of events

Turn 1: I play Nightcrawler on left zone. He plays nothing
Turn 2: I play Lizard on left zone. Mirror Dimension reveals in middle, which says on Turn 4 it will turn into another location. He plays Scarlet Witch and turns it into the Danger Room
Turn 3: He plays Armor mid, I play Punisher left
Turn 4: I play Namor right, he plays White Queen right and gets a copy of Devil Dinosaur. He snaps.
Turn 5: He plays Klaw Mid, I play Killmonger mid, move nightcrawler mid to protect it with Armor, and play a second Lizard left (I got it from Weirdworld). I snap.
Turn 6: I play Spectrum mid, he plays Captain America mid, and Devil Dinosaur right.

I don't see anything that would reduce the cost of Captain America or Devil Dinosaur. How did he play them both on turn 6?

Yeah, she's new and probably far from being obtainable since she's 485+ collection level.

On Reveal: Set ALL cards at this location to 3 Power.

I'm assuming ongoing buffs would still apply on top of the new 3 power cards are set at. Downside is this gets played on turn 5 before Ultron bots go down so they won't benefit from it.

my eyes start to bleed when i watch too much along those lines but it's a definitely a good genre with some really great stuff. i'll probably take a few recommendations out of your top anime but probably not as many as i was expecting. i haven't even heard of almost anything in your top 30.

Oh, I wonder if Valkyrie would be good - setting any existing tokens to 3 power - likely a bump up for a lot of things you'd have on the field - then they still get Kazar and patriot's buff on top. Plus potentially nerfing enemy cards.

Too bad it wouldn't affect Ultron's drones.

Or maybe Hobgoblin? You are happy to have an empty space to fill with drones so having a card that disappears from your side would have lots of value.

Any reason for no Blue Marvel? too many buffers and not being sure you'll get Ultron for the last turn?

there's gotta be a better option than White Tiger though. The token benefits from Patriot but the original White Tiger is just taking up a spot with 1 power that a drone or a squirrel could be sitting in. NOT good
