The alt left before BP release: This is going to be the greatest minority lead movie ever.

The alt left after it's released: What? The majority of people liked it overall regardless of their political affiliation? But what will I bitch and whine about instead of just being glad for its success?

The only difference between your example and mine is mine is actually taking place in real life, while yours is only playing out in your head
Yeah ok. 100% of BP's ticket sales were all black men, women and children. I'll base my real world view of BP on just shit posters from Stormfront and RT reviews. Christ you'll twist reality just to have something to bitch about.

Honestly it seems like the only one bitching here is you. You've literally just made up a scenario as a gotcha for whatever reason. Whereas people have actually posted examples of what TC is talking about. Him pointing that out doesn't mean he's "bitching".

you notice that they do EVERYTHING they accuse other people of? and often times they have a longer history of doing it. that's why I keep using terms like "projection" "insecurity" and "fragility" whenever I spot it. it's a reoccurring thing with some demographics, so you can always count on catching them in the act.

there's nothing more hilarious than

That effort to make it appear as if white women were being attacked at Black Panther screenings was pretty sad.

par for the course for the right

I never saw a single article about white people being attacked, just dozens of articles about supposedly fake attacks. Im 6 pages deep on Google and dont see even one.

As far as I can tell, it seems to mostly be people on Twitter claiming this. And we all know how people on twitter are always telling the god's honest truth.

Honestly, even many years after there have been many incidents that, at least to me, still show that this dude is still relatively immature, hot headed, and potentially still a domestic abuser. I haven't heard much in the last year or so, but I also haven't really been paying close attention. There are definitely still a few incidents in the fairly recent past though that make me lean that way.

She said she forgot.

That's the worst to me.

I feel like if I owed someone money, it would be constantly on my mind and I would be trying everything I could to get it back to them ASAP. Sounds like once she got what she wanted, she was no longer concerned about paying you back. Probably owes a ton of people a ton of money. I know plenty of people like that.

I've known a couple of girls like that, they bat their eyelashes at you when they want something, and then when they get it they vanish until they want something again. Shame it happened to you, but at least you learned the first time

Its only ever really happened with family. These days though I dont lend people money and Ive never needed anyone to lend me money my entire adult life.

TC is in the right here, 100% IMO.

It's not even as if he doesn't want to see her parents because he dislikes them. I couldn't imagine having to go to a GF's parents EVERY week for hours at a time each time. That's just too much, I'm sorry. Once a month for him should be just fine except maybe during special occasions. I feel like if she wants to see them more often than that, then there is nothing wrong with that but expecting him to be there every time is just way too much.

If she needs someone to be there more often, then I think she needs to figure out if TC is the right one for her then.

I've always wondered why it never seems like mass school shootings (or shootings of that type in general) seem to be committed by black people.

Like, obviously there are gang shootings and what not committed by black people all the time but those cases are typically targeted attacks despite often times innocent people being caught in the crossfire. I'm referring to the profile that we normally think of in regards to mass shooter. Crazy/deranged/mentally unstable loser kid walks into a school or place and starts firing indiscriminately, trying to rack up as many kills as they can.

I don't normally post my dates here but eh

Met a chick last night for the first time at this small bar. Reason I'm posting is because she did something I100% didn't expect. We were sitting there having drinks, sharing a plate and just talking. We were there for like 2 and a half hours. Honestly it was a pretty fun conversation.

Yesterday just so happened to be my birthday however. I went to the bathroom twice (whenever I drink water or alcohol, I always have to go to the bathroom a lot). During my second trip to the bathroom, surprisingly, SHE paid for everything and I didn't find out about this until like 20 minutes later when I asked for the check. Wasn't expecting that and it honestly made me like her even more. Was the first time that's ever happened to me on a first date, she said it was a birthday gift.

Normally I usually pay for a first date because I don't even want to deal with the whole ordeal. Some women can be pretty stuck up about it. I've even heard some women say that they will pay on a first day to send an indication of not being interested but quite literally nothing else gave me that indication. We're supposed to be meeting again later this week. Pretty cool chick.

No one here knows whether they were justified in shooting him because they werent in that situation.

What I think is interesting is that the fired cop had the situation calm and was working on de-escalating and it sounds like pretty much from the moment the other cops got there, the situation escalated quickly and the guy ended up dead. Perhaps that says something about their tactics and "protocol"?

Even when you go back to the pinnacle of the series - Dynasty Warriors 3 - it had extremely campy dialogue and delivery. My friends and I will still randomly bust out "Zhuge Liang... THE WIND!" on occasion. That was a great game with loads of personality.

Glad to see I'm not the only one that agrees that DW3 was the pinnacle. There may be some nostalgia to it and to be fair it was the first one I played, but even beyond that, there are many objective things that I feel like they took out or did worse in basically every subsequent release that I feel objectively make them not as good. Two of the major ones being unique weapons (except in like 1 or 2 cases) and the fact that every map was different. They didn't re-use maps and call it a different battle. They re-used maps or sections of a map A LOT in DW4 and have done so to some degree in every release I've played since (I never played 7 and barely played 6 at all)

Also people have always complained about the voice acting but I've always found it funny and it never bothered me. To this day my brother and I bust out the Yuan Shao "All units..CHARGE!" line, among others. That game was great.

Use your words to explain what is racist about this painting.

He can't without admitting that he would be doing the same exact thing that he criticizes others for. Therefore he won't.

Ill take a stab at it. Heres a quote from the artist:

Wiley states, The whole conversation of my work has to do with power and who has it. (Source: http://ncartmuseum.org/blog/view/new_in_the_gallery_kehinde_wiley)

That reasoning can be viewed as flawed with regards to the Judith and Holofernes painting because he generalized the subject. The depicted women do not represent just themselves; they are symbols of something larger. They are stand-ins for race and sex. How do we know this? Consider the background material. The victorious woman is a reimagined Judith, the biblical Jewish widow, and her victim is Assyrian General Holofernes. But Wiley changed Judith to a black woman and Holofernes as not only white but also a woman. Why? Why not just keep their race and sex intact? Well, see his quote above. Wiley didnt randomly choose his images. He featured race (and sex) front and center because thats what his paintings about.

?

He literally stated his objective, yet you're coming up with....some other random interpretation of it to try and make it racist?

Makes people think stuff is the best you can do?

If you can't see why someone might find that racist you're beyond help.

So I'll ask it again then

Usually when person of color X does something bad to person of color Y and someone calls it racist, someone like you are the first to jump on the "OMG just because someone did something bad to someone of a different race doesn't mean it was racially motivated". Like I said earlier, that's a fair point and I agree. And that logic should apply in this case then unless we have some other evidence that the artist is racist. So now my question is, why is it that all of a sudden is it that when YOU are the one that feels slighted, it's so obviously racism? Why has the bar for what's actually racism dropped so precipitously
