We only had an official girl's team at our school, the men's team was like a club sport or pickup games organized by the students.

Same. I grew up on the coast so volleyball was something every knew how to play and did as a game but volleyball season was in the fall so only the girls played it competively.

Yes I know men play at an insane level of athleticism but that's the stigma that develops when volleyball and football have fall seasons in high school so they naturally become gendered sports from a young age.

True, I never even knew there was men's volleyball in schools until I worked with a kid that played it in high school.

Backing out is easier cause there's typically a lot more room outside the parking spots than in them. Driving backwards is really had cause of the lack of visibility, so driving backwards into the small space is worse than driving backwards into the big space.

Yes, but you're ignoring that the lack of visibility means that when backing out of space you can't see moving cars. Backing in, nothing is moving.

It's not that big of a deal with small cars, but for larger vehicles the blind spots can be really bad when backing out which is a problem because you're backing into a space with other moving vehicles when you have blind spots.

Not to mention, if you have a newer vehicle you're very likely to have a backup camera since those have been out for years at this point, and cameras make backing into a spot very, very simple but can miss oncoming traffic if backing out of a spot due to a small field of vision.

Granted it was a total fluff piece about the tax free weekend coming up, but I'm stoked. I've got some magazine articles and short fiction published, but this is my first article at a real daily paper. Plus, I'm the business and agriculture reporter so it was nice to get my feet wet with a pretty easy story before I have to throw myself into writing about a bunch of industries I'm barely acquainted with.

also, what discrimination are they facing due to their hair color? if you're talking about the casting, I wonder how you all would feel if it was with other white people, but who were blond(e) or brunette.

Racial and ethnic aren't the sole minority categories. Granted I think the extent of ginger discrimination is being made fun of, but I'm an adult now so I'm sure how much that goes on since gingers have no soup jokes got played out with my age group about a decade ago.

I'm not going to watch the video since most of those comic channels on YouTube are just constant bitching about the same thing over and over again, but it's probably because they're now able to diversify their characters and are taking the chance. You have to consider that the reason there's so many redhead comic characters while they're relatively rare in real life is because when the characters they had a very limited color palette available to them due to printing technology of the time. You got red, yellow, black, and white hair colors most often because that's all they could do. Now they can do more, and they're taking advantage of it.

The Colorado Kid actually got a loose adaption on SyFy called Haven. I never watched it so no idea how accurate it is or if "loose" means "we took the basic idea" but it ran for several seasons and my dad enjoyed it at least.
