here in america chains are definitely cheaper, or some of them are, in my area i can get a large 1 topping for 8 bucks from dominos, from a a local place thats easily 9 or 10 bucks

I dont know if its specifically where I lived in the UK but in Suffolk the local pizza places were the most absolutely abysmal pizzas Ive ever had. The crust and toppings couldnt even compare to Red Baron. I eat plenty of bullshit food, but the pizza over there is legitimately the only type Id describe as cardboard with tomato sauce on top.

Pizza chains are one of the most depends-on-where-you-are chains there is. In some towns, Pizza Hut is the best. The quality varies so much from store to store and town to town you cant really say one is the best, all you can say is one is the best in a particular area.

That kind of thing does actually happen though. That is the lived experience of many people. Why should it not be fair game to make a video game about a common lived experience? Especially if it's a game set in the real world modern day?

To add, from my limited experience with the game (I've only played the first episode) the racist MAGA white guy in the first episode is directly contrasted with a non-racist, non-MAGA white guy that helps you escape from him and then helps you find a place to stay. So far the game is very explicit that white guys aren't the villain, racists are.

Ive been going back and watching some older SNL episodes (started in the mid 90s and am up into the 2000s now) and the show is pretty much as good now as it was then. Theres a LOT that just isnt funny, but theres usually one or two decent to good sketches an episode and Weekend Update is usually the highlight, same as now. I dont think anyone on the cast now is as funny on their own as Will Ferrell, but the episodes themselves are all pretty much just as funny.

Yea, I think american comics writers have adapted by just retooling existing characters for name recognition. When it works, though, you get stories like Heart of Ice from Batman: TAS which fundamentally reinvented Mr Freeze into the most compelling version of the character.

It happens across both Marvel and DC, but I find it particularly funny when you search for a popular DC character on wikipedia only to find out that they're like the fifth person to use a particular persona and there's two or three lesser known guys that used it after them. I feel like Marvel retools characters more often and just switches up their personality while DC likes to plug in new characters entirely.

Here in Australia we didn't have separate channels like that back then. We frequently had shows from both of those channels aired back to back on the same network.

thats sounds pretty sweet. Was it like an all star channel with the best of both or was it random which ones they chose to air?

I was always solidly a Cartoon Network kid, but there were a few Nickelodeon shows I really liked to. I mostly disliked Disney Channel outside of the original movies.

You're not a 90's kid unless:

- You were born no earlier than 1971 and no later than 1976
- You have a VERY strong opinion on Nick vs Cartoon Network
- You do not own anything that isn't neon.
- You owned a SNES, a Genesis and a TG16.
- You have memorized the entire scripts to at least three Tim Curry movies.

If you meet ALL of the above criteria, you can apply to be a 90's kid by writing to the address all 90's kids know. Many will enter, few will win.

Dude if you born in 71 you weren't even a kid in the 90s lol

It's sad how people are so focused on less exclusives being a bad thing even though it's only a net positive for gaming as a whole.

All of those exclusives being stuck on PS2 and PS3 over a decade later aren't doing much nowadays.

I think a big part of it is that people might feel regret over their purchase. I assume lots of people bought a PS5 because they thought it would be outright better than whatever the new Xbox was. The reality was, they're pretty much the exact same thing aside from the handful of exclusives, so they latch onto those to justify their purchases when they see things like Gamepass or Xbox fans with good enough PCs not even having to purchase a new console.

I didn't buy either console personally, but I'm sure there are plenty of people that bought one or the other and is just looking for a reason to justify why they paid for one $500 console and not the other that does the exact same thing.

very easy to confuse though, WB really tanked the HBO brand in recent years by associating it with Max and all the bs shows like thousand pound sisters on that service.

Like a drive thru employee deciding to start shooting. Because his belief was he was discharging his firearm as a matter of an approved use of force. Its a different standard

He obviously is an idiot and needed to assess his threat and after each shot

and yet if I or anyone else walked out onto my front porch, got startled and started wildly firing a gun at my neighbors homes with no concern for what I was hitting we would be in jail. I wouldnt be allowed to choose to just quit my job instead, and for good fucking reason. In no world will I believe 1 in 10 people can bench 2 plates.

99.99% of women definitely can't for starters. 99.99% of children couldn't (maybe a few 17 year olds with good genetics)

Even 1 in 10 adult males is far fetched. Some guys are just naturally gifted and maybe can do it without training but there's not enough men that need to train for it that actually do. I specifically trained for it and only got to 200 though I have a bum shoulder that probably limited me.

This is all mostly true but the bolded portion isn't really saying anything. You may have trained for it, but the actual training you did and where you started at is so variable that it essentially means nothing. You could have started benching 45 pounds once or twice a week, but someone else that would starts able to lift 135 a few times consistently a week is gonna have different results, and he's also gonna have different results from someone that trained exactly like him because genetics is an even greater variable we have to account for.
