Since Gen V Pokemon will be in the Dream World and thus will have overworld sprites, there really is no reason for them not to bring back Pokemon following you. I do wonder if it'll be in as an optional thing, and thus they're keeping it a secret.

Look at it this way: Kanto gym leaders all remained in their positions in two years (except for Koga who got promoted, but was still present), so replacing all Unova gym leaders in that same amount of time wouldn't be believable.

Yeah, but as a second gym leader, I wonder what Homika will have.

Koffing is a given, but it's too early in the game for her to have a Scolipede or a Garbodor.

Starter talk time - Which one will you choose?

I chose Oshawott on my original White playthrough, because Dewott is all kinds of awesome. Then I chose Tepig in my White nuzlocke run, but it died as a Pignite and I couldn't use it anymore.

I'm thinking of using Tepig again.

Probably Oshawott. I used Tepig in my Japanese White, I ditched my starter in my US White, and assuming I don't decide to use Jellicent instead, I'll be keeping Oshawott for White 2.

I'm not going to be playing the Japanese version this time. The only reason why I did before is because I had no patience and just had to use the new Pokemon as quickly as possible. Since BW2's changes are mostly storyline/side stuff, there's no reason not to be able to actually read what's happening. >_>

I really hope they do give Serperior something new, just because f***, it needs SOMETHING to make it worth using.

And if these games follow along with every other new game, most Pokemon should at least get a new Egg Move or two. Plus any Move Tutors (or new TMs, as some people speculate the list might change in lieu of giving us Move Tutors).

Gonna go with Oshawott, but if Snivy gets something that makes his evolution line more decent then yeah, him. I love Snivy but he sucks so much that he's actually sort of useless in-game, which is...pretty bad.

Screw the starters. I didn't use one in BW, I won't use one this time.

I might just breed a Pokemon I like and trade it over early and make that my starter. I don't like using Pokemon I've used before when playing through the story, so it might help diversify things a little.

I'm not sure which starter I'll go with.

I have plans to use Chandelure, Excadrill and Haxorus. However, I also want to use THEMANITAN because, well, THEMANITAN. I can't really have 3 fire Pokemon. Snivy is basically worthless trash. So I might just go with Oshawott again. Which would be "fine", but unexciting.

I can get away with two fires - I just have to decide if I really want THEMANITAN that much. If I don't, I'll pick Tepig this time.

I don't like reusing Pokemon, but I also don't like trading to get "illegal" Pokemon.

So I guess I'll just build a team out of whatever scraps I can find! Definitely scrapping the starter though.

I think ice is kind of already such a good offensive type that improving it at all might make it overpowered - though it's true that ice is such an awful type to have that something like two ice pokemon exist in OU, and five in OU and BL. Even Kyurem, which is theoretically supposed to be in the banned list alongside Palkia and Reshiram and so on isn't banned.

I wouldn't mind making poison a better type, though.
