Dropped off: Final Fantasy VII (25t), Tales of Symphonia (25t)
Also receiving votes:
54 - The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess 34 - Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest 31 - Final Fantasy VII 26 - Batman: Arkham Asylum 23 - Star Fox 64 22 - Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance 17 - The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker 15 - Bioshock 14 - Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty 12 - The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask 5 - Tales of Symphonia 1 - Assassin's Creed II
Lots of shakeup all over the place this week due to the abundance of upsets last week. Swirl's late vote puts MM2 back into the top 25 over Twilight Princess and denies it a spot once again. For some reason, voters abandoned FFVII hardcore this week. Didn't even get close to the top 25. Portal makes a grand return after a big win over Symphonia, who also drops off.

CT is #1 with a bullet now. Very tight race for #2 now, and RE caught up to MGS3 this week, for some reason. Big logjam in the 11-14 range, too.

Let's see others that I can think of from the top of my head, not sure whether or not these matches will end in blowouts though...
Donkey Kong Country vs. Banjo Kazooie (rare battle) Grand Theft Auto IV vs. Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas Phoenix Wright T&T (or the original) vs. Pokemon Black/White (system battle) Shining Force II vs. Gunstar Heroes (system battle) Soul Calibur II vs. Mortal Kombat II Super Metroid vs. Metroid Prime (maybe week 30) Umineko vs. something hated

BOP Results: http://charmander6000.webs.com/GotD%20BOP.xls Congratulations to Black Turtle for winning the guru contest.
I dunno, I think Super Mario Galaxy 2 vs. Sonic Colors might be a decent match. I know that I'd definitely vote for Sonic in that match!
And speaking of "matches made to shut up a certain voter", I should remind you that Missingno., breaker of the Noble Nine, had completely disappeared from the Pokémon series by the time Gold and Silver came out and that is a totally legitimate excuse for Chrono Trigger vs. Pokémon Red/Blue/Yellow during rivalry week. Either Chrono Trigger wins and dispels any doubt that it's the strongest game in the contest (13 of the 16 voters had CT at #1 this week, and the other 3 all had RBY there), or RBY wins and proves that it's the strongest game in this contest.

Ulti (in one of his Post-Contest Analyses): God of War turned a 5 hour deadlock into a total laugher Anagram: Oh God, Tidus and Yuna were involved?
Since Leon apparently wants to leave SFF matches for last, we should instead resort to misc. rivalries of some sort, obviously. So...I'll think of a few:
Resident Evil 2 vs. Silent Hill 2 Super Mario Bros. 3 vs. Sonic 3 & Knuckles Sonic Adventure 2 vs. Super Mario Galaxy (battle of the 3D platformers in outer space, plus Mario vs. Sonic again!) Chrono Trigger vs. Super Mario 64 Kingdom Hearts vs. Metroid Prime Super Mario Galaxy vs. Super Smash Bros. Brawl Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare vs. Grand Theft Auto IV
I seriously think that both GTAIV and Battletoads actually have decent strength and that Battletoads would wreck Modern Warfare in a rematch.

Try again!
That was back in what, week 3? 2? Lol.

It doesn't matter when it happened. Call of Duty 4 beat it. Battletoads doesn't get to face it again. Battletoads has routinely looked like one of the weakest games in the contest. There are very few games (if any) that it would "wreck."
Hmmm...I've almost got things finalized. Just trying to put the finishing touches and make sure everything's just the way I want it. Hopefully, I'll have the Rivalry Week schedule up within the next hour.

This is a terrible argument because even though that was a few weeks ago, the games did not change at all, they are constants. The only thing that varies from week to week is the voters.

Leonhart, it may be too late, but I just came up with another rivalry match idea.
Skies of Arcadia vs. The Wind Waker, battle of the "pirate" themed games!

And the Week 10 schedule is live! I meticulously went over these matches to try to set up as many good rivalries as I could. Along with some same-series stuff, I tried to go along with the theme of same console classics facing off (even within same-series lines, like FFVII/FFVIII and OoT/MM). I did some 2-D vs. 3-D stuff in other places, too. I did my best to make sure that the most powerful games had an appropriate rival. That doesn't necessarily mean I set them up with a strong opponent because that wasn't always possible, but I wanted to make sure the rivalry fit. I didn't just want to set up a bunch of strong games facing each other for the heck of it with no common link, although that probably would've been easier. I wanted it to have a true "rivalry" feel.
So I hope you enjoy!

Well they are two completely different games with very little similarities. I don't see where the confusion is at
It's because the game has Zelda in the title. The game is somehow stronger in these contests than Okami, which is obviously the better game. People just want to play as the dude with a green hat with a sword.

Starting and ending rivalry week with bangs, I see.
...Also, while I'm assuming it's just a rivalry due to the first BGE contest, I find SOTN/GE - the battle of games the RNG absolutely hates - to be pretty funny.

Also ironic is that they both share the same year of release.
And what do you know, there's The Real Truth, one of the biggest reasons why I regard Ocarina of Time to be the most overrated game of all time.

Lots happened over the past two days, huh.... it's too bad Yoshi's Island lost. Or maybe it was good because it was the best possible result that can still please Leonhart. I do not want to face his wrath.
The matches for Week 10 really ARE good. Super Metroid vs. Final Fantasy VI.... I can't wait.
