The thing is that bit actually happened a year and a half BEFORE Owen Hart died. Looking at it today, it looks bad and like a horribly tasteless reference to what happened (something WCW actually tried to do in a completely DIFFERENT angle, but much more on that when I get there) but this was way before what happened to Owen.

But he can put on a good match, I'll give him that.

It's possible Cole was worse this week than he's ever been. It actually seems like someone yelled in his ear to tone it down towards the end of the Del Rio-Bryan match.
