It's an ongoing e-pop contest influenced heavily by pro wrestling. Users compete in matches for a variety of titles and tournaments, and voters pick the winners! There are plenty of gimmick matches and such to spice up the format, as well.
What do I need to do?
You don't HAVE to do anything, but participants are heavily encouraged to at least vote on UCA cards. It's more fun for everybody the more people get involved, though, so you're also encouraged to cut promos, start storylines, form alliances and tag teams, and talk smack in the topics.
So there are no requirements at all?
Almost. Three times a year, there's a roster purge period. If you don't vote during any of the 10 shows in that time frame, you're in danger of being purged from the roster! We're in the middle of such a period now, but I'm not going to purge any new signups, so you're set for four months or so. Even if you do purge (or just decide to quit) doors are pretty much always open to come back later!
What's the schedule like? How long until this crashes and burns?
There are three "TV" shows a week- Wednesday Night Ruin (posted late Tuesday nights), Wednesday Night COMBAT, (late Tuesdays) and Friday night Eruption (late Thursdays). In addition, we have a more important "PPV" show every three weeks, posted late Saturday nights (Shows are named after when voting ENDS, rather than when it begins). We are not always the best about sticking exactly to schedule and sometimes have to have cop-outs like double cards, but UCA has outright missed very few shows in its 4+ year history.
How often will I fight?
The idea is that everybody gets at least one match a week; we rarely mess that up. The more active users will tend to get more matches.
Who's in charge?
Tom is running the show at the moment, and has been for over two years. I, XIII, am the GM of Ruin, and I have some admin help from a variety of volunteers. The project was initially founded by Icehawk, and taken over by JaKyL before eventually passing on to me.
What's the structure like?
There are three "divisions" for singles wrestlers- Heavyweight, Middleweight, and Lightweight. It's a loose sorting- people change divisions rather frequently, especially since I try to keep them roughly balanced in numbers. You'll fight people MOSTLY in your own division, but not always. There's also a (THRIVING) tag team division that needs some fresh blood...and it's not mutually exclusive with a singles career, either. If you sign up, I'll figure out somewhere for you to go after I give you a match or three.
There’s also a recently implemented BRAND SPLIT, whereby each participant will belong to either Ruin or COMBAT. Ruin and COMBAT will be exclusive to wrestlers from, well, Ruin and COMBAT, while Eruption and PPV’s remain all-inclusive. Each brand has its own titles - both brands have versions of the HW and MW titles (specifically the "UCA Championship" and "Interboardinental Championship"), COMBAT has MELEE MAYHEM and Ruin has the LW title. Tag titles (and Jesterdom) are crossbrand, and the tag champs may appear on both brands until they lose the belts.
How about rankings?
There's a rubric for rankings within a division. Rankings aren't THAT meaningful, but basically, if you beat somebody above you, you move to the position above them. If you tie them, you move to the spot below, and if you lose, nothing happens. You can't move out of your division this way, so if you beat somebody in a higher class than you, you just become #1 in your own. Battle Royals and some other gimmicky matches don't impact rankings. You can see the current roster and rankings in the master file linked at the top.
Bring it on. Ertyu INVENTED this match. It's his comfort zone. He's the king of that jungle. My preference is slapping t**s around but I'm always down for something new.

You underestimate how little he cares about things so long as they are funny. WE ARE IN PERFECT SYNCH AS FAR AS THAT GOES.
I mean I might have swapped Hag/KP/Bellis/Mer for Swirly Oaks and someone else, but no, Haguile is now a Ruin lifer it seems! I don't want to be too vengeful, but I am a stubborn bastard sadly and I don't negotiate with terrorists. Sad.

I won't win. The old Haguile is dead. My losing streak is 0-5 as of right now. I won't stop until I reach 100. Hell, I won't stop even then!
if you're talking about my tag-team championship I think that is more to do with WotR being the best, the most dynamic, the most amazing tag-team in UCA right now.

So I see I've been stuck in some ridiculous "hardcore bear match."
Tom, you disgust me. It's ridiculous that you think I need to "apologize" for my recent actions and even more terrible that you'd resort to this kind of ridiculous stipulation and "prize" for KP. Honestly I don't think much of you booking-wise, and I think I am the man to take the company forward in the long run, but I've always been respectful of your place and what you've done for UCA on the whole. But since the split you've really exposed yourself as bitter that Ruin is the show that gets the most votes, activity and discussion. Combat is very much the b show right now and instead of being bitter and trying to discredit me, you should keep your own house in order. Or even better, try and improve that house. Don't try and drag me down - bring your show to my level!
But back to the subject at hand. Tom you've never been much of a match for me, but then KP is a lightweight and you have no problems putting me in a match with him!
So what I really want is a match with you. And If you've got any fortitude in them little-bitty things you call balls...
..... After seven long months of waiting, I have finally arrived in the Board Eight User Contest Association. After seven months I am here, face to face with the man who brought me into the UCA. As some of you keener observers have noticed, this was supposed to happen way back in September. Unfortunately, one week before I was meant to debut on Wednesday Ruin we hit some snags in contract negotiation that I'm unable to go into detail about. So, I end up spending the next half a year in All Japan User Contests. And I saw many successes during my time in AJUC, and Thirteen Rocks was watching my successes, and every week I would get a phone call from the other side of the world. "Hey, we gotta get you back over here!" "Hey, you need to be doing this kind of stuff in front of UCA crowds!" Every week I would respond with the same line: "I got a good thing going over here, Thirt." Then one week I got my phone call, same time, same place. Only this time Thirteen managed to strike a chord: "You need to come compete against the best in the world." 'The Best In The World', The Board Eight User Contest Association. The Grandest Stage of E-Popularity on the planet. If you can make it there, you can make it anywhere. Thirteen got me hook, line, and sinker, and I responded "If we're gonna do this, It's got to be big."
And now, This man's vision has come true, and I am here, in the flesh, in a UCA arena. Thirteen Rocks, the one man who was able to brng me here. I've noticed that in recent weeks that some of the superstars have turned on Thirteen. They think he's doing a bad job. I disagree. I think he's done a great job. This man has achieved everything he's set out to do in the UCA. He's a triple crown winner. He has done an amazing job. Problem is, he's been changing his job description to suit his needs. He was doing a great job when he clawed his way to the top of the title scene. He was doing a great job when it was his mission to make this **** fun again. He was doing a great job when he decided to play favorites as Ruin GM. When he decided that he wanted to take a chosen few, and push those guys to the moon, and the rest either sink to the bottom or get sent to the 'B Show'. Thirteen told me he wants me to compete with the best in the world. This is not an environment that cultivates the best competition in the world.
I didn't come here to be anybody's attack dog. I didn't come here to be a corporate champ. I didn't come to cling to my past accomplishments. Hell, I didn't come here to save the future. I came here to win, and win for myself, and win by myself. So in case you haven't figured it out by now Thirteen, I won't be available for bookings on Ruin this week, I've signed a contract with your buddy Tom and his 'B Show'.
Now as I said before, If I'm coming to UCA, it's gonna be big. I don't care how long it's going to take but I will make it to the top. This isn't a message from the future. This is a threat from the present. I've given up the guaranteed title opportunities I was promised if I went to Ruin. I decided to do things the hard way because I know that I can do things the hard way. I'm going to be here a long time, so get used to this.
