Don't start absurd rumors. We just learned of this yesterday ourselves. At no point would we ever ask him to retire.

Sad to hear that. Common sense dictates Gootecks was great for coL.CC, why would we "strong arm" him out

so maybe that stuff was a rumor after all? I'd definitely like to hear the real reason he left, and whether it means he's just done with Complexity or is done with the FG community altogether.

Considering that on the show he thanked like 50 people throughout the community, not just people involved with col.CC I'm pretty sure he's done with fighting games altogether. It was like a goodbye speech.

On that I Got Next documentary he said that as soon as it stopped being fun he'd stop, so I imagine that's the case here.

yeah I thought about that, but just a simple "I'm tired of playing these games" or even "I hate new games because they're not as good as 3s and I'm not going to play them anymore" wouldn't go down the way he went out. his specific "f*** you, and you know who you are" thing suggests to me that something stupid happened and drove him away. he seemed happy about the FGC before this so I dunno.

(also I realize I probably care about this way too much but I'm an avid CC/Excellent Adventures watcher and this kind of sucks. it's just as horrible as having day9 just stop doing SC2 stuff tomorrow)
