yeah after another 20 or so online games I can confirm it

Makoto is so good

she's especially the ideal online character because her buttons are good and a lot of bad players don't block online, they just hit stuff. so you can force them to stop pushing buttons. which is cool, because it's like the reverse of Elena. with Elena you can think you've set them up to give up throw but f*** it they're dragon punching on wakeup and you're just eating it.

I sometimes lose to bad Ken players with Elena. I haven't lost to any bad players yet with Makoto

now to just figure out Dudley

I am perfectly fine with you picking up Makoto in SSF4! I will have to test my secondary characters against Makoto and get some experience in there.

I crack under pressure towards the end of the third round and throw out an EX uppercut that pretty much seals my fate

also at one point you see me attempt to reversal a super with my super but an uppercut comes out instead, lousy punish. probably could've won round 2 if I hadn't had that execution issue!

all his supers came off valid hit confirmable moves, so either he saw it hit and then it got rollback'd (which is possible) or he jumped the gun and just threw it out as a combo without hit confirming. not sure which. I know down medium is really hard to confirm online, which is why he did back fierce + fireball instead.

generally I just assume the best of the other guy when that kind of stuff happens. hit confirms are the one big area where 3s suffers online. it's just harder to hit confirm a lot of stuff.

I think 360 is where it's at

the more people still play on the 360, the more I can convince myself that I don't need to spring $300 for a PS3 + $150 for a stick + ~$200 for duplicate FGs

But yeah, if your only reason to buy a PS3 is fighting games, probably best to stick with what you have. I just find it to be a better system in general.

well I have wanted to play all of this gen's Ratchet & Clank games that I missed

I'd at least have to buy a fightpad though, no way I'm using a stock controller and trying to time shoulder + face button presses together. I did that for a year on PS2 3s and you feel sorrow every time a jab comes out instead of throw.

Yeah. That's PixelJunk Sidescroller, but there are a few others. Cool retro-style games with modern ideas.

I found a dude online who mods sticks. So presumably could just get my 360 sticks modded for PS3 and PS2, which takes care of my "buy another stick for PS3" problem and my "have no way to play CvS2 except pad" problem.
