Most of the time it's like 5 to 30 minutes later so we can verify that the person is actually eliminated. Lawyerings are why no one likes to make a direct proclamation. FUN FACTS being revealed is supposed to mean that the elimination is official, mostly because I hate doing Fun Facts twice.

1. What did you think about CXIV and the new regime? (#banffd and #longliveffd are both acceptable answers)
Too ban heavy (I have no idea how lefty lived through this contest), and trying to police/define save prompting was kinda silly, but likely better than any alternative.
2. How did this year's Top Ten compare to others for you?
Five characters in my personal top ten was pretty nice, and no characters I strongly disliked. I'll take it!
3. Which character are you hoping to make a run next contest?
Delita. Top five every contest please. As far as characters that didn't make a run? Jecht would be nice. Maybe Sazh so he doesn't end up below Hope in the all-time standings.
4. What was the biggest upset in this contest?
Hope.
5. Does Zack deserve to be champion? Why?
Absolutely. Excellent character, probably my second favorite winner.
6. Does Squall deserve to be runner-up? Why?
If I can repress any memories of disc 3 and 4, absolutely. Excellent character. Otherwise, can't say I'm a fan, but there are much worse.
7. What number would you like to see the field at next year? (75/80/85/90/95/100)
100 sounds good to me. Big contests forever.
8. With the floodgates open next year, which newcomers and returners would you like to see?
Laguna has no business missing a contest. Needs to return badly. Other than that, can't think of any. Dycedarg probably wouldn't get much support, but I like him enough to nominate him. Maybe an FF13-2 character once I get to playing that. I don't care if this conflicts with my answer for #7, big contests forever.
Also now that it's over I'll take any stats questions that somehow isn't answered by the reveal of the full list.

Contest XIV 1st Place - Zack Fair 7th Place - Barret Wallace 11th Place - Sephiroth 19th Place - Yuffie Kisaragi 20th Place - Cissnei
The numbers are eerily similar.

Biggest Jump: Steiner from 34.62 to 43.23 Biggest Fall: Faris from 62.78 to 58.43
At least I think Faris is the biggest fall from a glance.

1. What did you think about CXIV and the new regime? (#banffd and #longliveffd are both acceptable answers)
Great contest, I had a lot of fun. I put a lot of effort into saving/trading for Rikku and I feel like her placement reflects that, which is satisfying (though I obviously did not do it alone). I am very happy with her run. It is unfortunate that she was just one save away from being in the final match, but Squall is my #2 (after Rikku) and I really did think he had a better shot at beating Zack, so I do think that was for the best.
I also really enjoyed Blank's run. And Squall's as well.
2. How did this year's Top Ten compare to others for you?
This was a strong top 10, although a lot of my favorites are perennial contenders, so I like most top 10s.
3. Which character are you hoping to make a run next contest?
Haven't decided yet.
4. What was the biggest upset in this contest?
Faris, Hope, Steiner
7. What number would you like to see the field at next year? (75/80/85/90/95/100)
I am generally in favor of more entrants and more new/returning characters. They won't always be strong, obviously, but I think new entrants deserve a chance, especially when they will actually have a consistent saver or two. Blank shows it is possible. If FFD is really waiting until 2013 for the next contest anyway, we might as well get as much contest as we can out of it.
Thanks for running this, FFD.

Good contest, I enjoyed it. Only things I disliked were 1) a lack of variation in start times (especially near the end) and 2) attempts by non-FF fans to sabotage it (not your fault, and they were stopped anyway).

1. What did you think about CXIV and the new regime? (#banffd and #longliveffd are both acceptable answers)
Round times a bit too predictable sometimes, and lolcast was obnoxious, but definitely better than raytan and his 3AM rounds!
2. How did this year's Top Ten compare to others for you?
Outside of Rydia, the only characters I was okay with as champion were Barret and Zack, so I wasn't a huge fan. On the other hand, there were no bad FFIX characters like there usually are, so...
3. Which character are you hoping to make a run next contest?
I'd like to get Cecil back into the top ten at some point, and I'd love to see Rydia finally pull off that victory she so deserves.
4. What was the biggest upset in this contest?
Gotta be Steiner.
8. With the floodgates open next year, which newcomers and returners would you like to see?
need some EVIL WALL and PHANTOM TRAIN up in here

Here's a good choice for someone to back. Look at his spot on the all time rankings. Look at it. That is a travesty, you pushing him to 1st would certainly help fix that!
Of note, Marche and Zack will both reach 5 contests next time, so we will be able to take the [Projected] away from them then.

Oh btw does anyone remember approximately when this contest started?
Noms in late February, first rounds in mid-late March.

I am skimming right now charon as I mull about the oddities of the end stats, but I'm recording everyone's suggestions.

for the record i would be okay with the floodgates being closed, too. not that i think it'll ruin the contest or anything but i don't think there's a lot of potential out in that field.
-- You saved science, SuperNiceDog! Congratulations to the Kentucky Wildcats, NCAA basketball champions!
Unfortunately, I'm pretty much going to have my hands full next contest, so I'll probably only be able to throw him early round support!
Are you planning on focusing mostly on CRYing next year? Well, once we start getting to the point of the contests where trading becomes a major factor, I won't have much of a choice, really.
Either way that's why I have no intention of running another one right away again!
