No one wanting to see certain characters is never better than at least one or two people wanting to see yet another FF7 character or two. The universe is just that massive, it is the only game with as many side projects and continuations as it has. It is only natural it will have the most or nearly the most entrants.

Perhaps nobody cares about ultra-minor FF7 characters, but a series cap would just replace them with characters that people care even less about. (or alternatively have no effect if the series cap isn't reached) The cure's worse than the disease.

I've been posting on b8 since 2008 or 9. Anyways you never know which characters might do well despite nobody caring about them. Emperor "2-3 people care about him" Mateus managed to survive all the boots.

Point being that at least people cared about having him in. Look what happened to Seifer. Are there characters anyone that's regular will main out there? Nope. But I'd rather let the most popular, nominated characters join the contest than enforce any game or series limit.

You don't know me too well GMUN. FF6 only has about 5 great characters anyways so I wouldn't care if it had a 5 character gap as long as it wasn't full of the bad/boring ones. Anyways this will only mostly matter based on how many characters are in the contest next year since 76 are guaranteed no matter what.

Crisis Core's only great character is Zack. After him, there's a massive dropoff, both for the CC originals and the already existing characters. I'd still encourage you to give it a chance for Zack but it's probably not going to boost others much in your rankings.

I nommed the emperor, but I always had more pressing matters than saving him in the early stages. Saved him a few times near the end of rounds though. Just because I nom a character doesn't mean I will support them, I rarely voted for characters I nommed in favour of character already in.

#longliveffd. Contest ran fine, the only hiccups were people literally looking for reasons to dislike your hosting and you handled it fine.

2. How did this year's Top Ten compare to others for you?

The top 10 was good, no terrible characters. Don't really care about comparisons

3. Which character are you hoping to make a run next contest?

Tristam. Dad and Doomtrain will never get support (doomtrain somewhat justly, but dad is legit), but Tristam has a chance and I'd like to see him go deep

4. What was the biggest upset in this contest?

I dunno, I felt like everything was relatively predictable. I mean, I did call zack winning like 50 days before it happened.

5. Does Zack deserve to be champion? Why?

Sure, he appeals to a lot of people and doesn't have many haters. Cool guy with a good choice of hair color

6. Does Squall deserve to be runner-up? Why?

Sure, why not? Never had a problem with squall, and I'll be damned if his supporters didn't work to get him that far.

7. What number would you like to see the field at next year? (75/80/85/90/95/100)

Any number is fine.

8. With the floodgates open next year, which newcomers and returners would you like to see?

Just DDT is good for me, and they're all in!

Don't give in and fight to make the contest end in a month. Like charon keeps saying, who cares if the entire thing lasts 4 months? I mean obviously I don't want to see this go 3 weeks without a round but it would get a tad silly with 2 rounds a day every day, then its over before we even realize it.
