I wouldn't be terribly surprised if Amada was 388 AND 387. I'm really not a fan of the way she plays the game, which seems to be to ally herself with people who are willing to make the cold, callous decisions necessary to advance the alliance, and then for her to try to cast herself as someone who, in spite of going along with every one of those decisions, is somehow less morally culpable for them, and she's really a good person, and blah blah blah.

Amanda is kind of like a modern Kelly Wiglesworth, when you think about it.

Peih-Gee calling Amanda out for her "doe eyes" at the jury at the end of China was awesome.

My problem with her is that I hate when people make asinine mistakes and then make the same mistakes again. In Amanda's case, her horrendously self-destructive approach to the jury. This is also why I hated Russell so much in HvV after really enjoying watching him in Samoa. I know, seasons filmed back to back in both cases, so they didn't know the outcome, but still. It annoys me. Being consistent like that is only good if you're succeeding.

I think Amanda kinda figured she had lost, given that none of the other returning players were former winners. And Ozzy mentioned in his jury speech that he was glad that he didn't win Cook Islands so that he could be on this season. Maybe Probst mentioned it to both the fans and the favorites, but it wasn't shown in the edit. In Amazing Race 18, which was an All-Star season, Phil (the host) mentioned at the starting line that "there is not a winner among you." When the season began filming, Gary and Mallory's season had not finished airing yet and the episode in which they were eliminated had not aired, so although they knew that they hadn't won, it was news to the other teams. Similarly, at the second tribal council in Survivor All-Stars, Jeff mentioned at Saboga's second tribal council that Ethan was the only former winner left on the tribe, indicating to the others that Rupert (whose boot episode in Pearl Islands hadn't aired yet when All-Stars began filming) didn't win Pearl Islands.

But yeah, Russell played HvV totally thinking that he won Samoa.

Sandra was originally asked back for All-Stars but declined, so I wonder how they would have handled her winner status given that Pearls hadn't finished airing yet.

390. Diane Ogden (Africa, 16th place)

external image

Diane is the worst first boot ever, and by that I mean not the person that I'm most unhappy with them being the first boot, but the person I hate the most out of all the first boots. Not even three days into the game Diane got sick and became the do-nothing around camp, allowing her and Clarence to stay behind while the others all went out. Clarence, in an act of kindness, opened up a can of food for her because she was on the verge of passing out, and when the others came back she immediately pointed the finger at him and said she had nothing to do with it. Really? The one guy who gives a damn that you're sick and you're gonna throw him under the bus that quickly? You knew you were gonna be the first one out, at least go down with some dignity. So this put a black mark on Clarence's game (pun not intended via his last name OR skin color) and, even though he made his own mistakes later, he began the game on a sour note because of her. So screw Diane.

389. Ashley Underwood (Redemption Island, 4th place)

external image

Redemption Island has one of the most uninteresting casts the Survivor crew has ever assembled, and Ashley was the worst of them all. She was cast as the token boring blonde pretty girl (even though she wasn't even that pretty; I'd say Andrea, Stephanie, Natalie, Krista, hell even Sarita have her beat in the looks department), and I figured she was gonna be boring and an early boot and I wouldn't care about her. Instead she took the other route and s*** all over the season in every way imaginable. Her entire edit consisted of her b****ing about Phillip. Yeah, everybody hated Phillip, but everyone else's annoyance with him was kinda comical. Ashley was just b****y about it. And then she becomes good friends with Natalie, who makes it to the end when Ashley comes just short. So what does she do? She's bitter about it and instead of voting for her friend to win the million, she hands it to Rob just like the rest of the zombies in the game.

388. Denise Martin (China, 4th place)

external image

I was really torn on where to put Lunch Lady Denise. She could fall in with the "nice but boring" people. She could fall into the "people I don't really care about" category. But she ended up down here in the boonies. At several points in the game she had the opportunity to turn the game around, but stuck with the alliance of Todd, Amanda, Courtney and herself, an alliance which she knew and repeatedly admitted in confessionals and to the others that, in a final four situation, she'd be the one left out of the final three. Then she was bitter about it when that actually happened. But the kicked comes from the stunt she pulled at the reunion. She said that when she got back home, the school decided that she would be too recognized by the kids to be the lunch lady, so they demoted her to "cleaning toilets." Because of this she was given $50,000 sympathy cash by Mark Burnette. The next day it was revealed that she actually was promoted to head custodian and had accepted the position before even leaving to be on Survivor. And only after her lie was exposed did she announce that she was donating the sympathy cash. So she's down here.

387. Stephenie LaGrossa (Guatemala, 2nd place)

external image

Guatemala is definitely the worst incarnation of Stephenie. Unlike South Pacific and Redemption Island, they didn't reveal who the two returning players were before the first episode aired. All they said was that "two of the most popular Survivors ever" would be returning, and one was a man and one was a woman. Even on spoiler-free forums, there was a ton of speculation that the woman was Stephenie. She was arguably the most popular female player of all time, and her season had just finished airing about a month before Guatemala began filming. Bobby Jon was a little harder to pinpoint. I seem to remember people thinking that the man may have been Jonny Fairplay. Either way I was stoked to see Steph again because I loved her in Palau. Unfortunately this didn't last long, as the never-say-die Steph from Palau had turned into a whiny b**** whenever she lost. And her whole game became pretty self-righteous. And I was glad she lost to Danni because, while I thought she would have been a very deserving winner in Palau, she didn't deserve it at all in Guatemala.

386. Amanda Kimmel (Fans vs. Favorites, 2nd place)

external image

Like I said before, I'm pretty sure that Amanda realized upon seeing all the other returning players that she hadn't won China. And yet instead of trying to improve on her game, she actually made it worse. She got into a showmance day 1 with Ozzy, which immediately put a target on her back. Luckily there was another awful showmance going on at the time, so those two hooked up and dominated the game. Then she showed an even worse handling of the jury again. One thing I'd like to note is that any time Amanda makes it to the end, there has to be a virgin named Erik on the jury to vote for her. Sorry for the quick write-up here, I'm in a bit of a rush and we all hate Amanda anyway.

Sorry for the estrogen slaughter today, ladies. I promise tomorrow will have more men than women. And here they are!

385. An Asian
384. A "Hero" from Heroes vs. Villains
383. Went at least four consecutive episodes without a confessional

Stephenie is probably my least favorite person to ever play the game of Survivor. I truly never understood why she was popular for Palau. All she ever did was complain about losing. Really: that's it. But somehow never-ending complaining was perceived as admirable competitiveness. Her whole "OMG I'm going to have friends!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" thing upon learning that she was moving to Koror was pretty obviously done for the benefit of the camera if you ask me, as was her break down in tears at the council when Janu quit. I'm supposed to believe that she was sobbing hysterically one minute, was smiling on her way out of tribal council, and the tears were real? I can't make that leap. She was completely inept at the strategic aspect of the game, putting her life in Bobby Jon's hands instead of taking control for herself while at Ulong, and then at Koror seemed to think that some kind of passive "Women's alliance! ...if you guys want" was going to cut it.

I prefer her Guatemala incarnation because everyone else started to see what I saw in Palau. She had a terrible attitude and was a sore loser...but at least she wasn't getting away with it this time. Her "I can't believe I finally won something!" act upon winning that individual immunity was, again, clearly done to make herself look good in front of the camera.

James calling her out for thinking that it was "all about her" in HvV was spot on imo. In one of her confessionals she says that she thinks Rupert doesn't like her "because I threaten his popularity." That right there pretty much shows that she's completely enamored of herself and thinks that she's amazing. That being said, I DO believe she had a valid point, because I'm pretty sure that Rupert is almost as enamored of himself and his popularity as Stephenie is of hers.

Basically, I don't like Stephenie because she's a huge phony.

Time to catch up! I'm still back on #405

And we seriously chose her over Sierra, or Helen, or Tracy?

Well let's just be happy they didn't choose Sierra! Tracy would be awesome sometime. Helen would be amazing, but if they passed over her in All-Stars, I don't think she'll ever show up again :(

Zoe was loud, bossy, and snobbish for the entire time that she was in the game, and if it weren't for the fact that John was an absolute dick, she would probably be lower than this on the list.

John was interesting though at times, and was decent early. Zoe didn't have a single redeamable quality.

Yep, Morasc*** as she is often called on Sucks is my least-favorite winner, and it's pretty well-deserved.

Absolutely one of the worst. Both from how much I liked the winners, and how much they deserve it, which makes her a double loser.

I will give her this - the one good thing she added to the season was falling on her face in the memory game, becoming the first (and so far only) person in Survivor history to get physically injured during an entirely mental challenge.

Do not snub Lisi's amazing jury speech. It has to be one of my favorites. It was so horrible, just like her, but incredible at the same time.

Over the years, my bottom spot for Tocantins has gone to several people. Tyson, Coach and Sandy have all held it at some point.

Literally my 3 favorite people from Tocantins!

Oh and she was a total b**** to Sierra, especially when Sierra knew she was on the outs and was going home.

That's one of the few things Debbie can be praised for.

She was pissed off at Russell for the rest of her time and acted like a total b****.

I still remember when CBS showed the bio pages for the HvV contestants, and under Danielle's profile, for Most Hated Survivor contestant, it said Russell...

he was a dick to Courtney (not that I particularly mind when people are dicks to Courtney as you'll see later in my list

I love Exile Courtney, but she really is the greatest punching bag in Survivor history.

Fifth episode all he does is talk about his girlfriend's boobs and his own drunk stories, leading to a very funny Brian moment where he makes up a game called "Bait Blake" where he baits him into telling more obnoxious stories. And it worked, because Blake was voted out in episode 5. Thank God. What a douche.

Oh man, I need to watch Guatemala again. I don't remember ANY of this. The only thing I remembered about Blake was him puking early on. That's literally it. He's one of my most forgotten contestants.

Another person that I'm thankful was gone after five episodes, Kimmi s*** all over The Australian Outback even after she was voted out.

Kimmi seems like a really crappy person to know in real life too. Did she have any positive moments in Australia?

And he ruined the endgame by allowing an awful alliance to go into the merge intact, eventually making it to the end. So screw him.

Tyson saved HvV by causing probably the best Final 5 since Thailand!

Oh, and since Xuxon already got confused by it, I consider the merge boots in seasons where redemption island was in play to be the people who actually got voted out at the merge, not necessarily the first ones eliminated at the merge. So Matt and Keith are the merge boots for RI and SP, respectively, not David and Jim.

Diane is the worst first boot ever

She is definitely one of the worst. Lame attitude. Lame storyline.

You knew you were gonna be the first one out, at least go down with some dignity.

Though to be fair, at least she tried. The same could have been said about Cirie in Exile Island. But she turned the tables on Tina, the strongest woman!

I was really torn on where to put Lunch Lady Denise. She could fall in with the "nice but boring" people. She could fall into the "people I don't really care about" category.

I didn't really think Denise was that bad, from what I remember. I was digging through old topics on Sucks one day, and even found she was liked during the airing. I'm sure the reunion thing had a lot to do with her hate though.

James calling her out for thinking that it was "all about her" in HvV was spot on imo. Something I wanted to bring up when darkx posted his review of HvV J.T. but forgot to until just now:

In the review, he said something about J.T. feeling like he had something to prove in the strategy department coming into that season. I figure this is in reference to the perception that some people have that in Tocantins, Stephen was calling all the shots in that alliance.

What are your guys thoughts on this?

I watched Tocantins again about a month ago, and I never got any impression that Stephen was in charge. I think with J.T./Stephen you get one of the rare instances where two people are actually in an "equal partnership" of sorts where neither is really leading the way strategically. I'd make it analogous to Tina/Colby and Stephenie/Rafe in that regard.

Since I know a lot of you guys don't pay too much attention to confessional count, I will give you the people who fit the criteria for 383:

Zoe (Marquesas) (although she has already been used so she's out)
Parvati (Cook Islands)
Natalie (FvF)
Chet (FvF)
Brett (Samoa)
Sandra (Heroes vs. Villains)
Danielle (Heroes vs. Villains) (has also already appeared here)
Courtney (Heroes vs. Villains)
Benry (Nicaragua)
Purple Kelly (Nicaragua)
Natalie (Redemption Island)
Albert (South Pacific)
Rick (South Pacific)
Brandon (South Pacific) (again, already out of it)
Whitney (South Pacific)
Christine (South Pacific)

May have missed one or two, but obviously the person I have in that spot is on the above list. What a well-edited season South Pacific was. Five people went four or more consecutive episodes without a confessional, and four of them made the merge.

385. Daniel Lue (The Amazon, 14th place)

external image

Daniel has a very similar story as Crystal - he was, at the time of his appearance, arguably the most physically fit Survivor in history, and yet he was completely useless in challenges. Again, this should make for a great story arc. Unfortunately Daniel has some less-than-redeeming qualities that put him near the bottom of his season. The guy was one of the freaking laziest people ever to play the game that wasn't a good-looking female in her 20s. And he complained whenever he was forced to do work. He particularly hated Roger (not that that was completely undeserved because Roger was a f***ing dick to everyone). And he completely blew the first challenge for the men. I know Ryan was his partner, but if you look back, Daniel gets the bulk of the blame. Apparently Daniel is some sort of running joke in the Survivor world where everyone wants to meet/talk to him (at least this is what I've picked up from listening to Rob Cesternino's podcast), but of all people why did he get chosen?

384. Candice Woodcock (Heroes vs. Villains, 8th place)

external image

Here's something that a lot of you may not know - originally, Candice was supposed to be on the Villains tribe and Sandra was supposed to be on the Heroes tribe, but they swapped them. I don't know if it was because they wanted to break up the potential Candice/Parvati and Sandra/Rupert pairs or what, but you'll notice Jeff trying extra hard to justify their finals placements in his Cast Assessment video. Anyway, Candice was really wishy-washy in the beginning of the game, and as it progressed, she continued to s*** all over the season by swapping hers and Sandra's votes at the final 9 because she thought it would be better for her. Turns out it actually ruined her game. She's to blame for that, not Russell.

383. Kelly Shinn (Nicaragua, 8th place)

external image

Purple Kelly is famous among the Survivor community for one reason and one reason only - she had the most invisible edit in the history of the show. Brett's invisibility was nothing compared to hers. Now she's someone of the butt of a running joke about Survivors getting invisible edits. Her invisibility was even topped by the fact that the most visible person in the season quit in the same episode she did. The highlight of her edit was during a reward when Chase said, "You don't really talk much," and she responded with, "I know, it's kinda funny." I want to like her for her hilarious edit, but the reason she got it was because she was a quitter, and you know how I feel about them.

PS: Thanks to my buddy JR at Yahoo! for the Kelly manip!

382 and 381, as well as the upcoming hints, will be posted later tonight.

He's one of those people from a season I haven't seen since it aired, who I don't remember much about, except that they completely sucked. So good job on the placement!

Anyway, Candice was really wishy-washy in the beginning of the game, and as it progressed, she continued to s*** all over the season by swapping hers and Sandra's votes at the final 9 because she thought it would be better for her. Turns out it actually ruined her game.

You'd really think she'd have learned from her mistake the first time too... But nope.

I want to like her for her hilarious edit, but the reason she got it was because she was a quitter, and you know how I feel about them.

I just can't hate on Purple Kelly. She was adorably stupid, and her edit was the funniest thing. Who can forget such legendary lines as "milk your own milk" and "I have nothing left to suck".

Bad placement for her!

I forgot them. But those are pretty funny.

382. Matthew J. Quinlan (One World, 16th place)

external image

I usually get excited when a Matt/Matthew/Matty(/Sash?) shows up on Survivor pre-season, obviously because that's my name. But Matt Quinlan just seemed like the most boring, generic person in the world watching his pre-show stuff. I hoped that that would change once things got going, and it did. For the worse. In a season filled with douchebags, he became the biggest one of all, and totally ruined any chance of the guys and girls working together about 10 minutes into the game (I actually blame him more than Michael). He was also a huge chauvinist and just thought he was the best at everything. And despite being the first one voted out, in his Fallen Comrades speech he claimed that he was really the best player of the season. And let's not forget his super internet push to win Fan Favorite, which he came in fifth on the first time that Jeff announced all the way down to the top 4. Lol!

381. Roger Sexton (The Amazon, 10th place)

external image

I'd say that out of the 24 merge boots, 23 of them posed some sort of immunity threat. Be it that they were good in physical challenges, mental challenges, or both, I can totally see how they looked at them and said "Hmm, they could be halfway decent in individual challenges." Roger is the 24th. He wouldn't win an individual challenge unless, as Rob kindly put it, "it was Name That Perry Como Song, or perhaps, What Kind of Prune is This?" So why was Roger voted out at the merge? Because he was a bossy, narcissistic, chauvinistic, loudmouthed biggot, and by all means he belongs further down on this list. I do have to give credit where credit is due however, and that is that Roger provided us with one of the most hilarious and satisfying boot episodes ever. Seriously, the editors didn't mask the fact that Roger was going at all. Normally they would show some sort of scene in which Rob, Alex, and Matt contemplated staying with the all male alliance, but within the first 30 seconds after Jeff said the word "merge," you knew that they were going to go with the women. And Rob, Deena, Alex, Matt, and Heidi shoved it in our faces the entire episode that Roger was going home. And we all loved it.

Last update was an estrogen slaughter, next update is a testosterone slaughter!

380. Super douchebag
379. Super douchebag
378. FINALLY someone that people have been guessing for ages (Hmm...)
377. Someone from Gabon
376. Someone from Guatemala

Wait, he actually had the fifth most votes for that? Is there a place that shows all the voting statistics for Fan Favorite? I'd be curious about other seasons too if they had been showing this somewhere.

380. Burton, Tyson, JP?
379. Burton, Tyson, JP?
378. Russell from HvV!
377. Charlie
376. Cindy. Maybe Jaime

Rob C. endorsed MJQ because The Rooster was the only one who asked for his endorsement. Matt can now be found as a regular on Rob Has a Web Show.

I thought your "fifth most popular last season" was referring to the save my. but now that i think about it 5th seems a bit too high for that.

I was talking about the Save thing. But are people saying he actually finished fifth in the real Fan Favorite America vote too?

Also, I just noticed a mistake. When I said that Matt was the first one voted out, I meant to say the first one voted out of his tribe.

Pretty sure Inviso does as well, since she alluded to it several times when Brenchel were on TAR.
