She is probably the biggest example of the dumb blonde ever to play Survivor

Kelly was a dumb blonde? I just remember her being a b****.

Trish was barely shown for the first few episodes, and when she finally began to be shown, she seemed like she was so intent on being positive that she came off a little snobbish.

Trish was good. Not that she made much of an impact on the season, but really under appreciated contestant.

That being said, Stephanie was pretty useless. She was always in the minority, she was lazy around camp, and then she b****ed about her tribe voting Jed, another awful player, out.

Jed sucked in every episode. I think Steph actually had maybe 1 or 2 where she was ok. She was still worthless though.

because he actually seemed like a pretty nice guy in general

He tried to be all tough and macho

How so?

355. Jonathan Libby (Palau, 20th place)

external image

Few if any people in Survivor history have gotten as short a stick as Jonathan did in their stint on the show. Kourtney and MAYBE Wanda are the only ones with the right to say a damn thing. He was out of the game halfway into the first episode all because he was picked last in the schoolyard pick, and he barely got any screen time in those 20 minutes. That being said, what little screen time he DID get made him look like a total douchebag. He selfishly jumped out of the boat to try to be the first ashore to claim the immunity idol, but actually ended up being the last to shore. Then it seemed like he was pissing people off enough to make them want to get him out first, which resulted in him not being picked by either of the tribes (despite the fact that, "I really thought I would have been picked by now.") and being probably the physically strongest first boot in Survivor history. Basically Jonathan was a waste of a spot in the cast, and the whole season would have been done a huge favor if he and Kim had just been cut from the season completely and we went through the game with two tribes of 9. That way Wanda would have lasted and we wouldn't have had a totally bogus twist to start the game. Oh, and one more hilarious thing to note about Jonathan - apparently he and Wanda were originally going to be the two that they brought back for Guatemala, but the producers were eventually like, "F*** these two" and brought back the ever popular Stephenie and Bobby Jon instead. Good choice to not bring back Jonathan. He would look so bizarre in the list of people who have played more than once (even more bizarre than a certain rumored S26 returnee). Wanda on the other hand I wouldn't mind seeing again someday.

354. John Paul "J.P." Calderon (Cook Islands, 17th place)

external image

Okay you guys can all put your pitchforks down, J.P. is finally out. Though I don't know why there was such an uproar over him still being in this whole time. Yeah, he was an arrogant, alpha male douchebag, but he wasn't COMPLETELY bad. We got to see him get stood up to and shut up by the fat, friendless kid, and we got to see him have a super blindside. But all in all the truth is that yes, we was an arrogant, alpha male douchebag, and not a very interesting one at that, so he still lands in the crap tier. Ranking aside, if you were to tell me back when Cooks was airing ago that there was a closeted gay on the season, J.P. would have been my absolute last guess. So you can imagine my surprise when he came out.

353. Brett Clauser (Samoa, 4th place)

external image

This one I'm sure will get quite a bit of reaction, simply due to the fact that Brett didn't do much of anything good or bad in Samoa. And that, my friends, is essentially the reason why he's in this spot on the list - he was a crap character who went far. Given, the editors are quite a bit to blame for that. I mean, the guy won three straight immunity challenges late in the game, came one spot in a challenge away from winning a million dollars, and yet he got one of the least-saturated edits in Survivor history. And because he won three challenges at the end, he came in THIRD for Fan Favorite. That kinda pissed me off. But I have a feeling that his edit wasn't totally unjustified. Brett was probably just really boring, and even if he had won they probably didn't have a ton to work with from him. And there have been far more hilariously invisible edits both before and after him, so he doesn't even get that going for him. Basically Brett was a wasted character, and both he and the editors are to blame for that.

352. Krista Klumpp (Redemption Island, 15th place)

external image

Going into Redemption Island, I had a feeling I wasn't going to give a crap about Krista at all. She was literally the spitting image of Natalie White and even sounded like her so much too that I actually called her Natalie several times when discussing the RI cast pre-show. Then we get to the show and when she isn't busy being completely invisible, she's being Russell's b****. At least Stephanie gave her reasoning for aligning herself with Russell. Krista just seemed like she was blindly following the guy that had already been around the block. And she paid the price heavily for it by being an early boot that nobody cared about. Plus I can't say her last name without feeling like my mouth is full of marbles.

351. Marcus Lehman (Gabon, 10th place)

external image

Marcus actually didn't bug me for most of the season. He was just kinda there. He seemed like an okay guy, but was just kinda boring. Although apparently edgic thought he was the most obvious winner ever, look how that panned out. They didn't even give Bob consideration as the winner until the penultimate episode, and even then he was a weak contender. Which is kinda weird because I thought Bob was a super obvious winner. Dunno why, but something about him in the first episode just screamed "Winner" at me, and it never died. But we'll get to Bob much, much later in the list. Right now this is about Marcus, who killed any chance of me liking him after his actions in his boot episode. Mainly what I'm talking about is how he convinced the others to throw the hidden immunity idol into the ocean, and was super cocky about it, and then got blindsided not 24 hours later. I appreciate his scrambling to save himself, but it was too little too late. The damage was already done both for his game and for me liking him. Oh, and something that I found out about Marcus at least two years after Gabon first aired - apparently his pingas went uncensored during the first challenge (I'm sure this will be fixed for the inevitable DVD release), leading to a ton of controversy, so I'd say it's safe to say that Marcus is also responsible for all of the unnecessary blurs as of late.

350. In my opinion, the least deserving finalist ever
349. Has a unique given name in the Survivor universe
348. Has an ultra-generic name (both first and last)

Wanda was awesome. She's for sure the contestant I feel the worst for in Survivor. Sure, she probably would have been an early boot anyway. But it would have been legit. It's just hard to watch that opening to Palau because it's heartbreaking seeing her not picked. Jonathan...well sucks for him too...but he wasn't really worth caring about.

Brett has a cool personality. He just mumbled a lot about stupid s***.

Did you watch the videos that season? Krista was actually my favorite from the pre-show interviews. Major disappointment with how that turned out on the show.

She was worthless on the show, but her being a sudden b**** in her boot episode was good. I liked her in that regard. Still better than over half the RI cast, which is sad.

350. Becky Lee (Cook Islands, 3rd place)

external image

Becky is, in my opinion (and I'm sure many others' as well), the least-deserving finalist ever. Yeah, it was nice to see the underdog alliance come back and make the final four, but I would have much rather seen Sundra take Becky's spot in the final three. Basically Cook Islands was the first season ever with a final three instead of a final two, which meant that, in the final three, Becky basically served as a goat for arguably the best strategic (and trust me, I will argue it when we get to him) and unarguably the best physical player of the season to duke it out for the jury votes. But Becky did nothing all season to warrant her getting that far. She just latched onto Yul on Day 1 for the shear fact that they had similar heritage and she didn't let go of him the whole game. And then she and Sundra both failed miserably in the final four tiebreaker, and she made it through for being the one to fail less. And I wouldn't mind so much if she actually had a redeeming personality, but she has the personality of a piece of dry wood.

349. Lisa Keiffer (Vanuatu, 12th place)

external image

Lisa was kinda painful for me to watch for a couple of reasons. First, she was one of the older women who was trying to be a younger woman, which usually doesn't work out. It was just bizarre seeing a woman her age mingle with and act like girls like Eliza and Dolly, when she really belonged in the group with Ami and Leann. She made a couple of bad choices on who to vote out which probably ultimately led to her demise. And then when she found out Ami was trying to get her out after a simple comment, she didn't even try to switch the vote on Ami, she just tried to keep it on Rory.

348. Sarah Jones (Marquesas, 13th place)

external image

If Michael Jefferson and Nick Brown have the two most generic male names ever on Survivor, then Sarah Jones and Kim Johnson take the cake for the women. And Sarah ended up having the most generic personality of all four of them. She was the standard prettygirl who laid around camp and did nothing and expected others to cater to her (as she was hilariously compared to Cleopatra by Sean). If it weren't for Boston Rob's obsession to always be aligned with a cute younger girl, she would have been gone in episode three after she got in her big fight with Hunter, but it didn't matter that much because as soon as the tribes swapped and she was away from her boy toy, she was a sitting duck and was the next picked off.

347. Shawn Cohen (Pearl Islands, 12th place)

external image

If it weren't for the Outcast twist, Shawn would have made the merge and almost certainly at least the jury, so that's one good thing that the Outcast twist gave us - we didn't have to deal with this jerk after episode 7. Basically he started out as a bully who had a cliquey alliance with Burton and Michelle, but didn't realize that Sandra/Rupert/Christa/Trish/Fairplay had the numbers to pick them off, so he quickly switched over at their first vote. This didn't help him much though, because he was still and ass, he lost the fishing gear, and he didn't get along with Fairplay. Even though he seemingly made it to the final 10, the Outcast twist forced the Drakes to vote out one more person, and as his fight with Fairplay culminated (in one of the best voting confessionals ever), they decided to set him adrift.

346. Whitney Duncan (South Pacific, 9th place)

external image

I know you've all been waiting for Whitney to show up, but to be honest, this is the writeup I have been dreading having to do for quite some time now. In one sense, I feel guilty putting Whitney this low. In another sense, she's lucky she made it this high. First I'll start by saying that I totally get why everyone hates her so much. She was in an awful showmance with another awful person, was cheating on her husband oh and by the way, nobody back at home even knew she was secretly married, and she was part of the anti-Cochran brigade ("you disGUST me!"). Add this to the fact that she has the worst confessionals to episodes lasted ratio of all time, and you've got a recipe for a terrible candidate. By all means I totally get people putting her last for her season and in the bottom 20 or so overall. But I just can't bring myself to put Whitney any lower than this for personal reasons. Something that a lot of you might not know about me is that I am somewhat of a missing persons activist. I participate in several groups trying to raise awareness and help bring home missing persons, and one of the cases that I was following intensely last summer was Holly Bobo, who happens to be Whitney's cousin, so I actually knew who Whitney was before she was announced as a cast member. I was really hoping that they would mention Holly as part of her edit, but they didn't, and I know Whitney feels awful about that, and I can totally sympathize with her for it. It just goes to show the way the editing department has gone in recent years. Back in, say, China, that would have been at the very least mentioned, if not a big part of the story. But these days all the editors care about is shoving huge male personalities down our throats. And finally, to end this writeup on a bit of a lighter note, I've just simply been amused by the name Duncan ever since discovering the legendary Frank Garrett of Duncan Construction (RIP, man).

345. A woman over 40 who was still in the running at the beginning of the finale
344. Was visibly bitter on the jury
343. On-screen name was a nickname unrelated to their given name
342. The original performance of someone on Heroes vs. Villains

345. Scout Cloud Lee (Vanuatu, 3rd place)

external image

This is the fourth-from-last update in this tier, so we're starting to get more towards the people that I hate less and/or don't really even care about. In Scout's case it's kinda both. I went into my most recent Vanuatu watch expecting to like Scout because I remember liking her a bit when it first aired. Going back, not so much. For the first half of the game she blindly followed Ami and for the second half of the game blindly followed Twila. Admittedly she did confer with other people from time to time and consider flipping her vote, but in the end it was Twila and later Chris as well who made the executive decisions for her game. And for the whole game she seemed pretty self-righteous, which you all know doesn't sit too well with me. Then she had a bitter jury speech, which was admittedly funny, but it's like the whole point of Chris's entire game went WHOOSH right over her head. In the end though, she was a background character in a season filled to the brim with huge personalities, so I can't hold too much of a grudge against her.

344. Michael Jefferson (One World, 11th place)

external image

Pre-season I didn't like Michael because he seemed like the very caricature of the musclehead douchebag. Then the season started and he stole from the women and nonchalantly shrugged it off like it didn't even happen, which was pretty funny, so I started to like him again. And then he went on starting s*** by doing things such as tell Colton that Leif told Bill about the plan to vote him out, which was also interesting. Then he just kinda disappeared until his boot episode. But it's his bitterness on the jury that brings him this low. All he ever did was just snarl at the people who had blindsided him (and really, got him good), and he also flipped off Tarzan, the one person who wasn't in on his blindside, for showing one of the best displays of sportsmanship after being voted out in Survivor history. And then he told Kim that her blindsides weren't good enough because everyone knew it was her. So I hold that against Michael.

343. Matthew "Sash" Lenahan (Nicaragua, 3rd place)

external image

The most effeminate straight guy ever to play the game (or so he says, I personally think Shannon had him pegged), Sash was almost completely invisible for the first third or so of Nicaragua, but finally came out of his shell around episode 6, when he decided that he wanted to try to be Russell. And he totally failed at every bit of it. He failed at being the camerawhore that Russell was. He failed at being a halfway decent strategist like Russell was, and he failed at getting his alliance to the end like Russell did. At least he admits his wrong in Mortgagegate, but that's very trivial to his ranking. I wish I had this saved, but I remember going to his official Facebook page shortly after the season ended and I remember seeing him describing himself as "One of Survivor's most strategic and popular players ever." He probably isn't in the top 50 most strategic players ever, and probably isn't in the top 200 most popular players ever. And let's not forget that his facial expressions were annoying as f***. Oh, and Sash, you aren't black. You may have some Jamaican heritage, but your skin is as black as Obama's is white.

342. Candice Woodcock (Cook Islands, 8th place)

external image

Though not as awful as her later performance in Heroes vs. Villains, Candice still irks me in Cook Islands. First off she was in an awful showmance with Adam, who was also terrible. Seriously, we didn't need 5+ second shots of them making out. Second, she totally flopped on her alliance, which came back to bite her in the butt, then ragged on Jonathan for doing the same thing (albeit Jonathan did it twice, but that's besides the point). She was also the one who came up with the idea for the all-white alliance, which just to me sounded awful (especially since half of that alliance would have already been awful). Basically, Candice helped propel Cook Islands into the rang of "sucky" territory, but not so badly that I have to rank her much lower than this. On her behalf, she did inadvertently create one of the most hilarious/awkward/sad/uncomfortable scenes in Survivor history, but we'll get to that much later in the list.

341. Ashley Massaro (China, 15th place)

external image

Ashley is definitely the least likable of the "weird chicks" that have been on the show. She basically got sick like 10 minutes into the game, and should have been an easy first boot had it not been for Chicken saying "f*** these guys" and self-destructing his social game. Then she voted for Peih-Gee at the first tribal council because "We already have a leader, and that's Dave." Then the very next episode she was b****ing about how horrible of a leader Dave was. Thankfully she was gone later that episode. China had a really fun cast, but Ashley is one of the people that I didn't like.

340. Another winner falls victim to the Crap Tier
339. Was the "mother" of her tribe
338. Asked their tribe to vote them out

340. Amber Brkich (All-Stars, 1st place)

external image

Is Ambuh the least-deserving winner of all time? While I hate to use the word "undeserving" to describe a winner because clearly they did something right if they managed to make it to the end and get the jury votes, if I had to rank the winners in order of how deserving they were, then yes, Amber would probably be at the bottom of that list. It's not a situation like Fabio or Bob where they were at least likable and good in challenges to compensate for their abysmal strategic games, or Sandra and Natalie where two juries, one of them unanimously (that's sixteen individual opinions [and for you nitpickers, I'll say 15. Sequester the juries and I'll give him JT's vote, but that's it]), decided that Russell was a f***ing a******. Amber won because one person was a f***ing hypocrite. Again though, I can't say that Amber didn't rightfully win, because there's no rule on how juries are supposed to vote. But really Amber's win was mostly Rob's doing, and I dislike her for that. And for the fact that she actually survived the producers rigging her boot. Oh, and the little part about how out of all 18 people that they brought back to call "All-Stars," she was, far and away, not even close, the least deserving of that title. In fact, they didn't even want her back. They wanted Elisabeth back, but since she's among that group of former contestants that these days all but deny that they were even on the show, they settled for Amber.

339. Patricia Jackson (Marquesas, 15th place)

external image

I may be lowballing Patricia's placement a bit here, but I'll be perfectly honest, she is easily the most forgettable person from Marquesas, so I don't feel too bad about that. What I do remember about her was basically b****ing at her tribe about little things, like where they put the machete (or shovel, some tool, I can't remember) back after they were done using it and it had to go in her exact spot. If it weren't for Peter being just the most bizarre person on Earth she would have been first out, and I would have ranked her higher for being nice, albeit forgettable in her first and only episode, but because we have episode two where she was a b**** AND forgettable, she's down here.

338. Jeff Wilson (Palau, 16th place)

external image

The slightly more tolerable half of an awful showmance, Jeff was basically a wasted cast spot. One look at the guy and you know that there's little chance that he is actually going to be remotely interesting, and the fact that he was on a mostly-younger tribe and immediately got caught up in an awful showmance just added to the fact that he was not entertaining. And then big, strong muscleman twists his ankle just a little bit during a challenge and it's all over. He asks the tribe to vote him out over other clearly weaker members and they comply and continue their epic losing streak.

337. Mitchell Olson (The Australian Outback, 13th place)

external image

Aka the first really cliquey person on Survivor (or at least the one who brought cliqueyness to a whole new level). He, Amber and Jerri (and briefly Colby) pretty much outcast the older members of the tribe just because of the age divide, and if it weren't for Colby flopping over and forcing the tie on Mitchell, who already had a vote against him, we probably would've had to deal with him deep into the season. But as it stands he was a boring, cliquey early boot and doesn't deserve any higher than this.

336. Melissa McNulty (Fiji, 20th place)

external image

Some of you casuals are probably scratching your heads right now. Well, look at Fiji for a second. 19 people. The only odd-numbered cast in Survivor history. The racial divide from Cook Islands remains the same, except that there are only four whites to five of every other race. Who's missing? Well, if you watch the first episode of Fiji, in the opening sequence, Jeff mentions that "one Survivor has already quit." And that's Melissa McNulty, who dropped out less than 24 hours before the season began, and, due to lack of alternates, could not be replaced. Some people consider it a quit, I personally think of it as a medical dropout, since it was due to panic attacks, which she had a lifelong history of, which could have affected her safety and ability to perform on the show. And that's too bad because I read that the whole reason she went on the show was to help herself get over them. Having never even been on the show, she SHOULD be the exact dividing line between people I actively dislike and people I don't care about either way. However I do drop her a few spots from that because her dropout caused the most bulls*** beginning to any season of Survivor ever - one person in the cast divides the tribes themselves and Sylvia, the person who pretty much built the Haves camp by herself, got screwed out of getting to live at it by default.

335. Had a memorable moment concerning a loved ones reward
334. Has a lulzy last name
333. Got 0 votes at FTC
332. Was given a very negative superlative by their tribe at some tribal gathering that Probst was at

From what I know...

-Telling Dirk and Sean to vote for Stacey instead of Rudy (POSSIBLY. Sean said that Burnette simply told them to "vote your conscience" and Sean said that that had no impact whatsoever on his vote)
-Switching everybody but Amber on All-Stars (this actually backfired as Amber was not even eliminated)
-Pulling Dave aside for a confessional so Russell could get the third immunity idol

Probably some others that I'm not thinking of right now.

I dislike her for that. And for the fact that she actually survived the producers rigging her boot.

You dislike her for surviving a suspected rigging? I almost am glad she stayed in retrospect if that's true. It would just be like no BS tribe swap happened in the first place.

But I'm never going to really support or praise Amber. I don't hate her as a person, but she's just boring as hell, and not deserving of her win.

What I do remember about her was basically b****ing at her tribe about little things, like where they put the machete (or shovel, some tool, I can't remember) back after they were done using it and it had to go in her exact spot.

I kind of remembered the same about Patricia, but I still wanted to like her when I rewatched Marquesas. I didn't really feel much of anything for her though the second time. I definitely wouldn't put her this low though. She was alright, and had her positive traits.

If it weren't for Peter being just the most bizarre person on Earth she would have been first out

I still hate how Peter was the first person out. He is easily my favorite first boot. I don't know if it says more for Marquesas, or more for Peter, that he was my 3rd or 4th favorite from the season. I really, really liked him.

One look at the guy and you know that there's little chance that he is actually going to be remotely interesting

I take offense to this! What's wrong with being fit? Fit people can be interesting too. I mean, Jeff did suck. But James, probably the most muscular person in Survivor history, was a really awesome character.

And then big, strong muscleman twists his ankle just a little bit during a challenge and it's all over.

On a coconut in the middle of the night at camp! I almost admire that he thought more about his tribe though, than of himself. It must have been really bad, for him to drop out of that chase challenge immediately. I mean, you can mock him for basically quitting over it, but it must have been pretty bad too.

Anyway, Jeff Wilson still sucks.

335. Jenna Lewis (Borneo, 8th place)

external image

Jenna had one really memorable moment in Borneo and that was when they showed everybody video tapes from home, then told Jenna that they didn't receive hers. Bad, bad producers. The right thing to do would have been to totally skip that reward, and I don't blame Jenna at all for crying and being upset. Other than that she was just the generic annoying girl who totally didn't deserve to be called back for All-Stars (albeit she was more deserving than Amber, but that's saying very little). Maybe it's just because Borneo had 10 really great characters, but I've never really liked Jenna. Oh, and I have to turn Safe Search on to find a usable picture of her.

334. Spencer Duhm (Tocantins, 12th place)

external image

I can only imaging someone going through elementary school with that last name. Unfortunately, it suited him in Survivor. He played Tocantins at 19 years old, at the time the youngest Survivor ever (and to date only Brandon Hantz and Natalie Tenerelli have tied it). He was also gay and a superfan, only he decided to keep both of these things from his tribemates, which in hindsight was probably a mistake because if they had really gotten to know him better, he may have stayed in longer. Unfortunately he didn't make a single strategic move in the game and ended up being booted because he blew a challenge (admittedly J.T. was being an incredible a****** about it). Although I'm starting to appreciate him more for being the total opposite of a more recent young, gay superfan.

333. Mick Trimming (Samoa, 3rd place)

external image

Mick may be one of the 12 or so least-interesting people ever cast for Survivor, and yet he managed to be the one person other than Russell who had a confessional in every single episode of Samoa. I'm guessing that this was either because he was the leader of Foa Foa (and a very poor one at that), or because he was a young, attractive guy. Probably the latter, but he rarely had anything interesting to say, and I would have much rather had him put by the wayside to give more screen time to some of the more interesting people of the season who got shafted. And he was feckless.

332. Susie Smith (Gabon, 2nd place)

external image

I'm going to echo. Jeff (really how do I have to censor bypass that) and say how the hell did Susie almost win Gabon? Seriously, if Randy had been in a little bit of a better mood that night, Susie would have taken home the million and been another winner for this tier. But as it is she was just a trainwreck. She started out by being named the least-valuable Fang member (though this was a bit extreme, because at least she was trying. GC wasn't doing s***). She was fairly boring up until the double boot episode, when she told Corinne that she was planning on voting for her had nobody come to her and told her the plan to vote out Dan (I'll echo Corinne's "REAlly!"). Then she flipped sides to give a bad alliance an upper hand. And it all culminated with a cross-bitter jury, with Matty, Ken and Crystal being bitter towards Bob, Corinne, Charlie and Marcus being bitter towards Susie, and Randy wanting to shoot himself rather than vote for any of the final three, but eventually picking Bob and for all three of them to kiss his ass.

331. Lydia Morales (Guatemala, 4th place)

external image

Two older Latin American women who made it to the finale right next to each other, I didn't even realize that until I started this writeup on Lydia. By all means Lydia shouldn't have made it to even the swap, but the fact that Morgan was lazy around camp and Brianna would rather pick her nails than participate in a challenge allowed her to get not only to the swap, but in a dominant position at the swap which allowed her to get to the merge. Lydia's crazy moments were kind of entertaining, which is why she isn't lower on this list, but she just had this one look on her face a lot of the time that pissed me off. It's hard to describe and I can't find a pic of it, but it's the kind of look that says "I know I'm going to get fourth place and I don't care because at least I'm getting higher than you." And she never did anything to change the fact that she was getting fourth place. Had she been a little more serious about the game and her position in it she'd probably be higher than this.

The last set of clues for the Crap Tier!

330. Was the center of a controversy that ended up getting them booted
329. Has the name of an animal somewhere in their name
328. A blonde who got very little screen time
327. Is/was married/engaged to another Survivor
326. You'll see this name and start to flip out that they are this low... Then see the season and (hopefully) see where I'm coming from.
