Also I was finishing construction of my Anima weapon in Final Fantasy XIV, and now I'm learning and trying to clear the highest raid tier trying to get my best in slot gear for my Dragoon. >____>

They apparently have three new permanent maps in development (plus three special maps, idk what they mean by that). I've also heard their goal is three new characters a year, though I don't have a source for that, it was supposedly in an interview with Jeff. Seems consistent with the output so far.

I think it starts today? I'm still trying to read up on how this actually works.

From what people are saying if you wait until week 4, you would have to play 20 matches in one week to get all the awards.

20 matches in HotS would probably take as long as say, 40 OW matches, which I would guess is enough to get 5 lootboxes. So it should be worth the time investment.

It's kind of shit that it's overlapping with Uprising though.

Some people are pointing out that it should end around the same time as the Overwatch anniversary, if we're expecting shit from that.

I shake my head at this, because Blizzard is rather gracious with their loot system.

Its super easy to get Gold loot items.
and they give you the opportunity to buy the items individually.
And you get a loot box everytime you level up.

In Black Ops 3, its awful:

I think Blizzard is VERY fair with their drops, I can get most of the legendary skins during an event from a from buying 24 lootboxes and just playing the game. Plus they are just cosmetics and they arent hiding any content behind dlc walls, we get every future character and every map from buying the game once.

Blizzard is definitely better with their loot boxes than most games, though the worst games are often F2P. This week I was actually looking up drop rates for a Japanese mobile game coming to the States, and they're horrible.

Unfortunately, I kind of despise the whole lootbox system in general, what with it being specifically targeted at whales and encouraging an unfriendly practices towards consumers in order to better exploit whales. Frankly I'd rather every player just had to pay a few dollars a month if that's what it took instead, though I understand for many players (particularly children) that is an instant no sign, and so it's better from a business perspective to design the game around a loot system.

Gotta wait till next week and even then have to deal with playing against other players, I know win or lose doesn't matter, and it's only 5, but I think most would rather fight AI's than Players........unless I'm the odd one out, lol.....

I can get HotS working on my main computer, but it seems to have reconnecting issues when a game is over....

It's 5v5, And yeah, you can fight the AI for the Genji skin, but not for the rest, they HAVE to be done in Quick, Ranked, or Unranked, vs. AI won't count.

Well, maybe 5 of us on here can do the matches quick like. I've played like, maybe 30 minutes of HotS so playing it with a team of 5 others who similarly played very very little of it could be a fun time. Especially if @TacoWhales is there cause then I can blame him for everything!!!

ugh my overwatch has started stuttering after playing the game for an hour or so and then is fine when I restart it, wtf?

Sadly I did not have enough coins to buy the rest of the legendary skins I was missing. So I bought Tracer's and Widowmaker's. Still missing one of Torb's, and Orisa's.

I got like 6 legendaries during the event. Only 1 or 2 were actually from the event. Had to buy widowmakers normal skin (even though I hardly ever use her)

Out of about 40 lootboxes I got 3 legendaries. Only one was from the event (Tracer). Only other notables i got were the D.Va highlight intro and Bastion and Reinhardt purples. Everything else was sprays or voice lines. I had to drop 7k just to get a few other things I wanted and I'm still disappointed I missed out on stuff.

Out of all the boxes we got, the only skins we actually got were....

Orisa's.
McCree's.
Mercy's.

Otherwise, we bought the Genji and Widow skins, most of the other stuff was "Eh", though, I might buy D.Va's "Not taking me seriously..." line, if only to have some more non-cringy ones.....

More gotten by my brother but, killed a Roadhog before hand by miracle, since the Hog kill the mech, somehow managed to not kill Hana, gets her Mech back, and finishes him off, then flings it at the objective and got a 5-Piece, we found it quite hilarious for some reason....Granted the first point was lost anyway, but overall the match was still won.

Yeah it sucks now when you look in someone's general direction you'll only deal a billion minus one damage while putting out a million HPS AoE.

Except for Orisa, all of these changes are perfect.

This exactly my proposed soldier nerf, and I suggested they increase reapers clip to 10
and I suggested they increase draw speed for hanzo (for which I was flamed and downvoted for on the Overwatch forums)

My proposed changes are usually accurate. I was right about making bastions recon mode more accurate and faster transitions (but less damage). And there was one more change I was right about that I cant recall atm.
