Not even so much because of the healthcare itself, but once you compromise on the this the Bernie Sanders types will start wanting more and declaring college tuition, paid maternity leave, etc. to all be rights and ruin the country

Because Americans don't want to pay those costs to strangers especially with how big we are. In America, you only owe yourself to your family and your friends and strangers can get the finger, is it really any surprise Americans recoil in disgust when this keeps coming up? You have the right to access to affordable, clean, drinking water. The amount of tap water that you actually drink, is literally a few cents a month. The industry is heavily regulated to guarantee this. Don't be a fool. Drinking water is all but literally free.

Luckily I am on the Detroit water system, some of the best in the country. But go up north 70 miles and you have the shitty Flint water crisis. Also people up there need to use water softener in their whatever (not a plumber) to make it usable.

"Forced" is such a dumb word

If you want to live in a civilized country with amazing infastructure, roads, schools, police, airports, railways etc. You have to pay tax to help contribute your part to be a member of the society.

And yes Healthcare should be part of that.

I support taxes. Taxes are a good idea. And if you oppose taxes you're welcome to leave the society and go full rapture Randian libertarian and see how far you get. No one is stopping you but 2 days without the internet you'd be crawling back.

But this "You're going to FORCE me to pay for SOMEONE ELSE'S lung transplant!" is a dumb statement to me. It's just being intellectually dishonest.
