Yes No View Results 41 y/o Robert Pattison, a trainee firefighter was FIRED on his FIRST DAY on his new job after he brought an enormous WATERMELON as a "gift" to his new black colleagues... He brought the fruit with a pink bow to a "meet and greet" in Detroit where he was assigned.. Several African American Firefighters complained about the incident and the station bosses kicked him to the curb for "unsatisfactory work behaviour" Chief Shawn McCarty said the gift was not mandatory but a tradition among new firefighters. The more food you add to the list of "not allowed to give to black people", the more discrimination will increase. Not decrease. The new firefighters should've given him a silly present back.
