No seriously though, the last article I read said Chip had narrowed it down to UCLA and Florida.

One give you the opportunity to live in LA and puts you in a conference that is historically great but currently is a steaming pile of shit with no major threats, and that you've already proven you're able to dominate.

The other has you live in Gainesville and forces you to deal with Nick Saban on a regular basis.

You do the math.

If this were earlier in his career, UCLA makes more sense. But Saban ain't gonna be around forever and Florida is a much better job for Kelly to stay at long term. It's not like he's gonna be looking to leave for the pros again.

Now we just need LSU to win large, South Carolina not beat Clemson, and beat Hooker U tomorrow and we should be looking at Outback! (Might even be Citrus if they don't want to take LSU twice in a row)

The real issue isn't whether Kelly thinks he can beat Saban routinely. The issue is whether he thinks he can beat Kirby Smart routinely. That one he would be faced with every year until one of them gets chased out, and one of them will get chased out unless it's damn near 50/50.

(Or Smart pulls off a National Championship this year, then he has some safety for a while.)

He's not wining even an SEC Title at UF till Saban leaves. If he wants his career to be SEC East Champion every year (as a U.K. Fan personally I'd kill for that... :( ) and nothing more go to Gainesville The PAC sucks yearly. Go to UCLA and maybe steal you National Title. Do you want the Title or money? I have nothing against you if you want the money... it is a job. But he's only getting the money at UF, not a Title chance.

Our conference is really fucked up if you think about it.

Once Sumlin gets fired, the three schools besides Alabama with the best winning percentages since the conference expanded (Georgia, LSU, and A&M) will have fired their coaches in the last two years.

So yeah, Saban ruined everything.

The bigger issue being that there is literally nobody in the Pac-12 that would be a threat to him at all

Not as much as the other way. Georgia fired a very successful coach specifically to try to get a championship. Richt basically just went home and has already elevated Miami to a status they haven't seen since leaving the Big East.

The only way a G5 (or FCS or Div-II/III) school keeps that good of a coach for very long is if there is some hope of getting that school into a better conference.

TCU was in the right place at the right time for that. Consolidation has basically killed that for G5 schools for the foreseeable future.

Yeah, I've never really doubted that Clemson will wreck them. I thought Miami would win this game even away, but ruining undefeated seasons is kinda Pitt's thing.

So you think Auburn Ga winner (they are a lock anyway...) OU, Wisconsin, and then they'd put 1 loss Runner up over a 1 loss Chanpion?

They already showed last year that you don't even need to make your conference title game to get in, so yes, Bama would get in over Miami.
