A ten year contract.... There's no way that's going to end well

Gruden is the most overrated coach of all time. He inherited a great situation in Tampa, won a Super Bowl with Dungy's team, then destroyed it and everyone acts like he's a god.

That's the Raiders for you. They got a decent QB and had one winning season and now they're cocky and think they know what they're doing.

Gruden doesn't even make any sense from a nostalgia standpoint. Are they trying to energize a fanbase that they're abandoning in one more year? New fans in Vegas don't give a shit that Gruden was the coach last time they had some moderately sustained success.

I'm obviously not an NFL insider or anything like that, but it seems like they are just trying to make a splash by signing a big name to a huge deal like that

I'd argue that Mike McCarthy is more overrated than Gruden

People think McCarthy is a good coach? Maybe it's because I only exist in my Packers' bubble, and we all think he sucks.

Not so much at the later part of this year, but I know at least half a dozen packer fans who thought MM is better than Belichick. At a fantasy football draft, a coworker of mine went on a 20 minute rave about how great he is. I too interact with cheeseheads on a daily basis because I live in MN

Stardew Valley is fun but it seems like the kind of game I'd want to play more on the side as I play other stuff. It takes such a long time to do anything (so far). I know you guys are dying to know who my waifu ends up being but you'll probably be waiting a while

Also apparently we're looking at hiring from within to fill our defensive coordinator spot so I guess we'll just keep sucking on defense.

I never play the same games as you guys but I finally beat Starcraft Brood War's campaign last weekend and I loved playing Starcraft as a kid. It felt good to finally do it.

I played Starcraft a lot, but I sucked at the actual game and was mostly into the custom maps. I played a shit ton of those defense maps. My favorite were the ones that revealed a pic of a naked girl on the map because it was like looking at porn without looking at porn

It seems like all I can do is plant a couple things and forage a few things and visit like one business, then everything is closed and I'm almost out of energy and I barely have any money or food yet so I can't do much else. I only get to complete one to two minor tasks in a day. I wouldn't really mind it if all the days were the same, but it seems like the schedule is limited.

To be clear, I chose the middle map, and I assume those were meant to sort of be difficulty levels, but the two easier ones didn't sound very interesting to me. The first one looked like you can just farm right away without having to clear a bunch of shit.

Your farm is always overgrown with weeds and trees and rocks at the beginning but a beginner should have picked the basic map tbh. Ultimately it doesn't really matter but it has the most farmable land.

I picked the medium map because I wanted to prove my medium gaming skills

I'm seriously considering buying viking playoff tickets to the divisional round game, and they're cheaper than how much tickets were against the Bengals game in the regular season. I don't understand

When the game launched the basic map was the only one. It wasn't until a big free update like maybe 5-6 months later that you had options.

Yeah, that's you as well. Except it was always cool.

Games like these are always slow to start, but once you get going, you'll accomplish things exponentially faster. Your tools will upgrade and work faster, you'll be able to plant and harvest faster, and you'll have enough food to replenish energy whenever you need to. It does take a long time, though, and it does require a lot of effort, which is (in theory) what makes it worth it when you realize you have a big farm after starting with nothing.

After 2009 I took a step back from Vikings fandom and re-evaluated myself. Watching sports is something I do for fun, so it should be fun regardless of the outcome. I think I've done a pretty good job of being that kind of fan since then. That being said, I'm fucking terrified of any playoff Vikings game. They are going lose.

Sports isn't fun regardless of the outcome. Being a sports fan is more pain than happiness no matter who you root for. The highs of winning it all are amazing but fleeting and you tell yourself you'll be happy with just one but all that one does is make you want more. That said it is very nice to have the two world series to last me forever because not everyone gets that and I think I'll see the Cards win it all at least a few more times before it's all said and done

Completely agreed, but I've been trying to enter each season with the expectation that my fave teams won't win, and everything else is just icing on the cake. I love watching sports, but at the end of the day it's something I do for fun and I try not to let it affect the other parts of my life negatively

I don't do predictions (just a policy of mine), but I bet none of you motherfuckers will pick the vikings next week (which is fair)

I haven't followed the standings but I may pick the Rams over the Vikings, no one else though

I'm more scared of the Saints than the Rams, but the Rams are a very good team. The vikes did beat the handily earlier this year, but it was 7-7 up until the 4th quarter and could have been a very different game.

You know, it's trendy to take a swing at Black Mirror these days, but it's still a good show overall. Just one man's opinion.

I'm at season 3. Great show, but it's just one of those shows that takes some time to digest. It's not like Parks and Rec where you can binge 19 episodes in a row and it seems like no time passed

My only problem with it is that it's really uneven, but the good ones are so good that it makes up for the bad ones.

Agreed. There have been some really really bad ones, but plenty of great ones that capture the essence of the show.

It's not a serial series, so you can avoid the bad ones anyways.
