You're right, but I did get the new super mario game: super mario odyssey

The bad news is that my switch doesn't work anymore. Games won't work - I've tried it with multiple cartridges and downloaded games. After booking, they all stop and get one of 2 total error messages. I've spent hours troubleshooting/trying solutions too

My wife was finally able to find a SNES classic two days before Christmas so I am glad I got that. I was told I could find one find one without preorder. I have been looking since the day came out and was unable to locate one.

That sucks. It should still be under warranty but you're probably gonna lose all your saves if/when you send it in.

I'm 95% sure I'll have to send it in. It's fine though. Things happen, and losing the saves I had (main one is BotW, but it's fine) isn't the end of the world

Other than clothes I got Assassin's Creed Origins from my mom and El Capitan Hammer decided to show me up and get me TWO games this year: The Evil Within 2 and Prey. I got him the delightfully titled Ys 8: Lacrimosa of Dana.

Yeah I guess it's good it at least happened before you got like 15 hours into Odyssey or something. Losing the BotW save does suck though.

Oh yeah I actually got something really weird from my mom. She gave me pair of pajama pants that has the like X, O, square and triangle symbols from PlayStation on it. Those are fine and I'll wear them. The funny thing is she got me a Paul McCartney & Wings t-shirt. I really like the Beatles and have once expressed to her that I heard a Paul solo song I really liked, so I guess I love Wings now. I'll wear that shirt too though and hopefully no one will ever ask me about it.

I got pokemon pj pants as the twitterati already know and the graphic tees I received were the last jedi and the mindflayer drawing from stranger things 2

No I took good care of it. At the end of October it started getting all these errors, then the errors stopped long enough for me to ignore it (with stardew valley while I was flying back from Europe). Haven't really played it since, but the errors keep coming back. Tried everything (making sure everything is updated, restarting, trying it with multiple cartridges, restarting, etc). Nothing works. 99% sure I just need to call them and send it back to Nintendo. I even tried their online thing and entered in the serial number and it told me I need to call. I'm not mad or anything, because that's how the world works sometimes (this can happen with any console) but I was looking forward to playing some super Mario

I've only had a PS2 and a PS3 die on me but I had 1000s of hours on them so I wasn't mad.

I was mad about the second PS3 going lights out. And the Wii U really because that was like one month after the warranty had expired. My mom knocked the 3DS off the kitchen countertop and it broke but Nintendo repaired it under the warranty no questions asked so that was cool.

It sucks so bad that I have to work again tomorrow

For Christmas I basically got a bunch of video game swag. The one game I got was OoT3D even though it'll probably get remastered again next year. Not that I'm complaining, since I asked for it.

Also I watched my sister play Stardew Valley and feel like I gotta get it now. I thought you just like stood around on your farm plot, I didn't realize you could wander around and collect stuff. I'm sure you guys probably described that aspect but I kind of had this preconception of what the game was and didn't bother to watch any of the gameplay

I knew it had waifus but that's about all I knew about the game. Whenever you guys start talking about them I check out. Not because I don't love waifus, but because I don't know who any of them are anyway

I do watch pretty much all of their games. I also spent Christmas in Wisconsin with my packer fan relatives.

Breaking update in my switch: like I said earlier, I spent a few hours troubleshooting and looking up errors, and I was 98% sure it needed to be sent in. So I called the hotline like the Nintendo repair site told me too. And of course, while on the line, the switch worked perfectly. So maybe it's not broken idk. I'll try again when I get home. Work today BLOWS, I'm literally found noting the. I have a 2 day week. What's even the point

Yesterday was the most boringest day of my life at work and today is only slightly less so. Tomorrow is apparently going to be even worse than yesterday though so that's cool.

Having rival team relative fans must be weird. Well, not that weird, but you can't root for them to do well for the sake of your relatives. My relatives are also Packer fans, which is why I called them my second team.

My family is made up of Packers or Cowboys fans. There is a lot of trash talking every year. It was really weird in 1986 because one of my cousins played for the Packers that year and the Cowboy fans living here would constantly root against him.

The worst part about NFL Shop commercials though is that everyone in them always owns like 400 pieces of team swag. What kind of person could afford all that heavily marked-up shit

Everyone hated that commercial because in addition to being an annoying family it didn't even make sense or accurately portray what it is to be a sports fan. If I ever move to some other city I would never renounce my teams, even if it was like Vegas and they only have NHL I would just act like a big Blues fan in defiance of my peers. Outside of Chicago there isn't even really a city where people would give me crap for my allegiances and even then it would just be good natured / extremely annoying bragging about how good Chicago sports are

I got Stardew, but haven't played it yet as I'm now getting around to the Zelda DLC. I think it's alright but it's like the content itself doesn't matter much. Exploring/finding Korok seeds is the fun part, so I mostly just like having some objectives to walk between as I do those other things. I almost have all the upgrades though and I'm not going to bother with seeds beyond that

The best part of the Zelda DLC is just having a new excuse to play more of the game itself. I could have done without it though. Some of the new shrines were cool, and the dungeon at the end is fun, but there was no real weight to it. There isn't anything in the DLC that felt essential.

Nothing in the DLCs feels essential since we've already beaten the game. Otherwise I think some of the stuff from DLC1 would've been useful, and I'm TBD on 2 since I haven't finished it yet. Unfortunately, even if I were to ever get the urge to replay the game from the beginning, I think you still need to beat it to unlock the DLC. Well, I know that's the case for 2, but I can't remember for 1. Though now that I think about it that isn't a huge deal since you can go to Ganon pretty much whenever and leave the exploring for after

You need the master sword for the master trials

The best DLC I've played has been new chunks of story and gameplay. Breath of the Wild doesn't really lend itself to that kind of thing because it's an open world systems based game. But still it would have been nice if there had been some real new levels or something, however that might have come about. Like if/when Mario Odyssey were to do DLC it would probably be new worlds, and that would be dope. I think we'll get Luigi in there at some point but that isn't based on anything.
