Fair enough, I thought you had completed it all when you were talking about it before. I liked the map aspect but what annoyed me more was how formulaic the challenges were (go through rings, fight a big enemy, third challenge that actually changes). The shrines themselves were good ones, except the gyro shit. I wish I had some stuff to actually do so I could make use of the bike. If I play this game again, I'm definitely gonna try to get that early on.

My parents gave me a $20 eShop card today that they forgot to give me on Christmas. Between birthday and Christmas money I've already bought six digital games and now I have $25 to spend

I got it on Steam and it runs smooth as silk on my mediocre laptop. The load times aren't great but I haven't experienced a single hiccup anywhere else.

The most expensive was $20, so it wasn't really that much money if I made it sound that way

I'm no Metroid fan but that's a solid lineup for good prices

I don't know if I'm a Metroid fan either, but Super Metroid convinced me to check out more of the series.

I actually kind of hate buying VC games though since that's in limbo with the Switch. I'm okay buying GB(A/C) games but I'm hesitant to get SNES or NES since those are most likely to hit Switch first.

Finally, it looks like the Packers are getting rid of Dom Capers.

It's just a shame the dream season had to come to an end.

It's crazy that they could have easily gone 0-16 two years in a row... maybe three? I mean, how much better do we really expect them to get next year? I know at least one of the top QBs in the draft doesn't want to play for them

I saw that as well and historically my take would be that he's being a baby but honestly with the Browns it's probably the right call. He'd make a little more money in the short term going #1 overall but they would probably destroy his career and future earnings because he wouldn't be good on that team. In the NFL if you're good basically anywhere you can get endorsements

CJ Anderson got to 1,000 yards today, which is like the one nice thing about this season. Paxton Lynch sucks.

I mean I guess it's cool that those two teams made it, but I almost would have rather seen the Ravens and Chargers, two teams I feel like could at least actually do something.

Do we honestly think that the Ravens are better or more exciting? I can't name anybody on their offense, save for Flacco. And yeah, the Chargers are fine, but who cares about a team that has left their city because their owner is a cheap dickhole?

Also I'm aware the Titans kind of suck, and got to play the AFC South and North. So did the Ravens.

Yes, the Ravens are much better than either team and certainly must be more exciting than the Titans at least. It doesn't really matter since I just want to see more teams that can beat the Pats, but the Chiefs and Ravens would have faced each other in the first round. The Ravens aren't that good anymore so they probably wouldn't stand a chance against New England anyway

The only team that looks like they can beat the Pats is the Steelers, and fuck that.

...at least in the AFC. I think any of the NFC South teams might be strong enough.

I can't find any articles explaining why the 9-7 Titans and Bills got in over the 9-7 Ravens and Chargers. I don't know how the tiebreakers work when it's more than one team and head to head can't be used. I think conference record is the next thing but both the Ravens and Bills have the same conference record. In fact, my Yahoo sports app has the Ravens ahead of the Bills even though it shows the Bills as making the playoffs.

The Titans have the best conference record of all four teams so they got the 5 seed while the Chargers lose out for the worst conference record. Then Buffalo wins the head to head with Baltimore because of strength of victory. Pretty crazy. The fact that the Chargers beat the Bills in an actual game doesn't matter unless they're in a head to head tiebreaker, and I guess the culling of the team with the worst conference record happens first.

I think all the sports have weird shit like that, though... like the tiebreakers for a wild card vs. division are different, seeding tiebreakers are different than clinching tiebreakers, etc. IIRC the NBA will seed teams based on winning the division but award home court based on record, or something like that

You can't use head to head if you don't have all the data points.You can't just put the Chargers in over the Bills because they won head to head, because the Chargers didn't play the Ravens and the Ravens should be ahead of them. But the Bills should be ahead of the Ravens, so it doesn't work if you try to use head to head as the first thing, period.

I think point differential should reign, because that could get hilarious at the end of the year.

You're right, I keep forgetting that's the reason why division is decided on H2H (I think) but not the Wild Card. I think they use it in the NBA, but all the teams in the same conference play each other each year.

You know what would be interesting? Not that I want an 18-game schedule to happen, but if it did, you could have each team play their entire conference and eliminate inter-conference games. I kind of doubt the owners would go for that though, and by the time they go to 18 games we'll probably have more than 32 teams.

And Happy New Year to everyone! I'm really glad the holidays are almost over. I know that sounds weird, but they really last forever in a bad way when you're unemployed... and I guess when you're employed and had to go in when it's dead.

Well head to head is the first tiebreaker if one team has beaten all the others, but with so many teams tied it's unlikely to occur. If just the Chargers and Bills had been tied, the Chargers would've gotten in.

By the way, the Vegas Discount Bin Knights are somehow on pace for 107 points nearly half way through the season, which is insane. Even more so when you consider that two of their goalies have been injured. I don't ever remember any expansion teams being this good.

But the las vegas golden knights players are like that movie Blue Chips except no scandal (hopefully). they play high insane tempo the whole time, offense with precision & doesn't back off as evidenced by scoring no less than 4 goals most of the time.
