I quit Guilty Crown because it became a High school setting. Same reason I didn't go forward with Seraph.

Kill la Kill and Attack on Titan are top ten for me. Yu Yu Hakusho and Dragon Ball/Z/etc too probably.

Madoka isn't in my top 10 either, but it did manage to make my top 15! Someday I'll make an account on that MAL website to track this but for now I'm doing this. Linked to a post if anyone is interested

Watamote is great, it's just a shame it didn't continue. Tomoko actually does advance as a character, and a true ongoing cast of characters is built up. As it stands, the anime is kind of...shallow? But it's not like it presented anything wrong, it just didn't get far enough.

Yeah, I read about how the manga continued and I'm sad the anime never reached that as well. Still, what the anime had really appealed to me since I can relate to Tomoko's social anxiety. Watamote took it to silly anime extremes, obviously, but there were still several moments where I was like "that exact situation happened to me in high school and that was exactly how I reacted". It was uncanny.

I'm watching Attack on Titan now. I figured I'd post occasional thoughts since it appeared on a lot of top 10 lists. Funny story: I knew literally nothing about this anime before going into it so I thought it was sci-fi and set on Saturn's moon, Titan >_>

Anyway, I just finished Episode 7. I assume Eren isn't actually dead but I can't think of a normal way for him to come back from that so I'm guessing he turned into the anti-Titan Titan? I'm tentatively intrigued but I hope this doesn't become a bunch of Godzilla-style big-vs-big battles. That's fine in moderation but I liked the Shadow of the Colossus vibe of small attackers swarming giant monsters and I'll be disappointed if it's abandoned so quickly. Mikasa is especially awesome at killing Titan's and I want her to continue being awesome.

In conclusion, Attack on Titan has been really good so far.

On another note, I watched Episode 1 and the first few minutes of Episode 2 on Crunchyroll but it was lagging and crashing for some reason so I switched to Netflix from Episode 2 onwards. I couldn't help but notice that the translation of the first few minutes of Episode 2 was wildly different. I hope I'm not watching an inferior translation or something.

Honestly, when it comes to official subs, you're going to be just fine with any of them most of the time. In Titans case, the only "issue" is how they translate the name of the different corps.

there's very few shows with terrible official translations these days

usually bad subs are from the shows that aren't expected to do well or has a lot of Japanese word play
