man, the Spring season looks like it'll be absolutely stacked. without even getting into new shows, it already has My Hero Academia, Full Metal Panic, Steins;Gate 0, Food Wars/Shokugeki no Soma, and Tokyo Ghoul. a bunch of the new shows look intriguing too, the season's just loaded.

What do you mean by wildly different?

Well, here's the first few seconds of Crunchyroll vs Netflix for Attack on Titan Ep2

"Over a hundred years ago, humanity suddenly found itself faced with a new predator. They were far more powerful than humans."

"They first appeared over a hundred years ago. Giant humanoid creatures with a taste for our blood. The brute strength of these aberrations was more than a human many times over."

They get the same point across and I haven't done any kind of deep comparison, but from this alone it looked like more than just slightly different word choices or whatever and if I extrapolated that to the entire anime it would be a lot of differences.

Alright, since you are... My attitude is a set of time frames. Most specifically, expirations.

1) Rations lose their taste after ~3 years.
2) The potato thing is really awkward, as they stated they were rations made from like mashed up potatoes, but they grew on plants. Plants would wilt after so long if not kept in sunlight and watered.
3) Beer will become toxic if left in direct sunlight and they found the bottles in direct moonlight.
4) Now we take all this... and put it to the city. Moving up, it probably would have taken a decade or two to fully clear out that city.

So where is there any accuracy to how empty the city is and the time frames where life could have been sustained with the food that exists?

In other news, basically my arguments are pointless in the end, but I essentially hate how the author clearly lacks in researching just how things work.

Yeah, it's my weirdest criticisms of a show to date. Should have seen me earlier in the season where I essentially chalked everything up to humans never existed.

And was even worse about my criticisms as I basically trashed the show as if no one is allowed to like it. But ever since the graves episode I shut down that argument and finished it as it's just my anthropology. I'm too invested in wanting to understand what happened in the post-apocalyptic setting which isn't the goal at all. Which makes it ultimately the worst... story I've seen with this setting.

That's the rest of it.

It's just some bonus thing on a bluray release.

Hey, I just realized Amazon doesn't screw over Canada after all. Strike doesn't exist, but a lot of their anime (maybe all of it, I haven't checked) is available on regular Prime Video here, and my brother has Prime. This opens things up for me!

I just watched the first episode of Girls' Last Tour and I love everything about this so far. Post-apocalyptic settings are great and I like that it has such a narrow focus on these two characters.

Well I got around to starting season 2 of Saekano. Honestly I'm a bit surprised I enjoyed that as much as I did especially with there being a 2 year gap or whatever between when I watched season 1 and season 2. So far it seems like the show hasn't lost its touch during that transition though, so that's a good thing.

how does an anime go from being kinda mediocre to this amazing

the last few episodes have been good to great what a ridiculous improvement

I can't think of any anime that's improved like this other than maybe Ayakashi, and that cheated by literally being three different animes

2011 is incredibly stacked in terms of an anime year. Here is what came out that year

Madoka Magica
Is this a zombie?
Steins;Gate
Ano Hana
Nichijou
Gintama'
Hanasaku Iroha
Denpa Onna
Tiger and Bunny
Usagi Drop
Yuru Yuri
Mawaru Penguindrum
The iDOLM@STER
Mirai Nikki (TV)
Hunter X Hunter (2011)
Fate/Zero
Guilty Crown
Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai
Chihayafuru

I don't even like all these shows but like the top end of the year was incredibly stacked. There's argument that 2006/7 was more consistent overall but I mean the amount of shows being released more recently has gone up quite a bit. Like from a sheer view point standard you basically have a year where multiple shows that have been topping favorites list for the past few years now have aired.

so I've actually been watching anime everyday the past few days. I've been watching three shows since that accommodates my ADHD pretty well. just have to be selective and also stay away from trying to watch a ton of airing stuff and I should be good this way for awhile...

anyway, my plan right now is to watch one newer show, one older show, and something long so I've been watching tsukigakirei, GTO, and catching up on dragon ball super. these are all things I was watching over the summer and then plans changed. once I finish GTO, I'll probably replace it with something new too because I've missed a lot of recent stuff. I've actually done a better job at keeping up with anime this year than I have the past few but still a good amount of shows I want to watch.

stuff from this year I've enjoyed:

scum's wish (actually have only read the manga still but I like it more than any anime this year besides maybe attack on titan)
attack on titan
dragon maid
worldend
rakugo shinjuu
interviews with monster girls

yeah I basically just watched stuff from winter and then some spring whoops

finishing LWA is next. re:creators and made in abyss are probably after that. I've paid pretty minimal attention to fall shows.
