Finished Saekano S2

Pretty solid finale. Rather interesting direction to take the series even if I don't think they went about it entirely the right way. Though, I do think getting the whole picture smoothed out a few of the issues I was having earlier on in the season.

This was...pretty different from season 1 in that it seemed much more plot focused as opposed to just being a fun harem show. Overall I'd say I liked the seasons about the same. The execution was probably better in season 1, but I think season 2 had much better ideas than season 1 did, and I actually have a good deal more respect for the series overall as a result. Honestly I'm super interested to see where the series goes from here, though unfortunately based on a slight change they evidently made to the source material it seems that further anime adaptations may be unlikely.

Just finished the first season of Love Live!

They never even performed in Love Live, I call false advertising! Okay seriously though, this season was a lot of fun but it also got super dramatic towards the end. Honoka was the absolute best the whole way through because she kept reacting the way I wanted her to react. Well, I probably would've been angry that they decided to ditch Love Live without even consulting her but oh well. I didn't like Kotori at the end there, either. As she admitted when Honoka asked her to stay, Kotori didn't even want to leave in the first place, so thanks for that drama bomb for nothing Kotori.

I feel like I'm getting too negative now, but I actually think this reaction is a good sign. I obviously became invested in the characters if their problems impacted me like this! Plus, I always enjoyed the songs and the character interactions were all great. I'm excited to start the second season soon. There had just damn well better be an idol tournament arc, I was looking forward to seeing Love Live

How does LL Sunshine compare to Love Live?

I'm trying to decide if I want to attempt to power through its two seasons (after LL S2) before the end of the year for the awards thing or take a break from idols and watch other stuff.

Well you still have the movie that takes place right after Season 2 and it concludes the 's story.

I really like Sunshine, and I have been liking Season 2 for the most part.

Sunshine Season 1 has some similarities to the original anime, and in a sense it seems pretty intentional. Then Season 2 throws away some of the conventions that the original anime had. Can't really say much more than that.

I still wouldn't go so far to say that you HAVE to jump into it if you'd rather watch something else first.

Every single serious anime fan is going to pirate it. Inclduding ones who have Netflix. Like even glass reflection someone who has been very firm on his anti piracy stance, while he would never say to pirate, you can tell in his tone in his anime strike/nf video that hes understanding because of those circumstances.

I don't have a functioning PC, so watching it on my phone is gonna be fucking lame. Also, "you can pirate it" doesn't excuse Netflix. Not to mention, as this year proved, a release like this will crush the show's potential popularity.

I also still need to get to Sunshine eventually, but I've been too busy going through stuff from 2017 recently. (Yes I know the 2nd season is airing I think now, but I don't really look at sequels the same way for this purpose)

Anyways I watched 2 episodes of Land of the Lustrous so far. The first episode...well...I'll just say I didn't like it for a number of reasons. Fortunately the second one was much more interesting, so I'll be sticking with it at least.

I think Chihiro from The World God Only Knows is reasonably tomboyish? I dunno maybe just the hair. Also maybe Mayo Chiki, though that show was terrible.

Really, you should just play VNs and read the tomboy routes.

Kokoro Connect might fit too. Don't think they're really a full tomboy but it's as close as you get for the most part. Haven't watched it yet but also Suzuka/. Then you have shoujo like Maid-sama

Well then. I don't know exactly what I was expecting from Land of the Lustrous, but I can say with absolutely certainty that it wasn't the king of sea slugs trying to ask out Kirei Kotomine in Buddhist Monk cosplay. So uh yeah.

On a less sarcastic note I am definitely enjoying this show now, though it's admittedly still not in competition for AotY or anything like that at this stage.

I don't know how far into the manga the show gets, but it feels like it's moving at a pretty fast clip. Either that or the manga's pacing is also super fast.

As a break between Love Live seasons, I'm watching Made in Abyss and I just finished episode nine.

I thought it would just be a happy cute show until they came across the corpse weeper. And then there's just... just everything about Ozen. The story about Riko being stillborn got to me too. The Abyss itself also freaks me out, especially the more I see of it, because I can't wrap my mind around it. That whole place should not exist. This anime is great
