Ugh, Danganronpa School Mode, why you do this to me. The social aspect sucks, but I love watching collection numbers go higher and higher. Already finished 3 cycles.

School Mode in 1 and 2 is pretty bad. V3 handles it better, but for all of then if you're just looking for the character stuff....YouTube is better <_<.

I'm going for the Platinum though. Present collection is also awful.

And what I mean is I'd rather just be playing the material collection game. The characters sadly don't do it for me.

This is a gross exaggeration! DR1 has plenty of solid characters, just some that really stand out as bad as well. Worst cast is stuff like Infinite Undiscovery or the last few Star Ocean games.

Again, DR1's cast suffers primarily by comparison to it's followups.

It's a real struggle. What pushes V3 over is that the whole cast is great. I don't dislike anyone in V3. 2 has a few fantastic characters that are hard to top, but a few really bad or forgettable characters as well.

I also think the story in V3 is the strongest.

As far numbers sure, but the rankings put way more DR2 girls at the top, and that's before factoring in V3.

Thinking about it lots of unimportant ones are terrible too though so I dont really know what to say I guess

I would also like to take this time to reccomend 2 (!) DR fics of a similar nature to anyone potentially interested! I recommend them because I beleive the writing for both to be quite good, though obviously they are meant to be read after completion. Both are retellings of the story that result from one very significant change in the plot progression early on.

The first, which I have recommended several times before, is System Restore, a SDR2 retelling where Twogami failed to prevent Teruteru from killing Nagito.

The second, which I just recently caught up on, is I'd Trade my Life for Yours, a NDRV3 fic where the vote goes to Shuichi instead of Kaede, and passes.

I know I'll get shit for talking fanfiction here, but I care more about potentially getting someone into them that that.

Oh man the last time I read fan fiction was ages ago. It was literally for Naruto and was like this huge one where he joins Kurenais team instead of Kakashis and explored other possibilities for his growth and stuff. I dont really remember much about it other than thinking the writing quality was far better than the actual series, but its not exactly hard to have better writing than Naruto
