Probably a better idea to just read the manga for TWGOK rather than watching the anime (they skip like 60 chapters between the 2nd and 3rd seasons).

So I'm rewatching the Digimon Tri movies, except this time through the dub to see how it is

I love Vic Mignogna but it's really weird to have him be Matt's voice. Kari's is a little weird too. Rest are good, obviously the original cast ones are and then even some of the new additions like Prompto/Goro Akechi as Joe and good ol' Johnny Yong Bosch as T.K.

Oh yeah, meant to mention this, but Hinamatsuri episode 5 was amazing. Hitomi currently standing on my pedestal for Character of the Season.

I'm realizing I would like Hinamatsuri a lot more if Anzu just didn't exist.

I mean it's still pretty decent overall, but I think I've not liked every plotline involving her other than the one where she was first introduced.

Hitomi is definitely the best no doubt. Hina was good at first and still has moments but definitely the weakest. Hopefully she gets some more good moments

Main Characters are usually among the most mediocre in a given series anyways. Male/Female doesn't really have much of an impact on that I think.

Like outside of sports type anime where I think a lot of male and female mains are pretty likable due to the never give up type attitude or whatever. I do find the kind of recent trend of giving female leads this like social shyness factor (slow start, hinako note, comic girls, etc) to be at least something more than the male character almost being a complete nobody.

Wow. I mean, it's clear that Real Account got cancelled at the end there, but after a slightly interesting start it's SHOCKING how bad it got. Might be one of the worst manga I've ever read. Really have no idea how this manga even happened the way it did.

Oh, really? It sure as hell feels like a rushed absurd cancellation at the end there, and it hasn't updated anywhere in half a year.

Somehow that makes it even worse, the idea that those last dozen or so chapters weren't a panicked cancellation conclusion.

Holy crap that episode of Hinamatsuri was amazing. Glad it's getting back to greatness. Hitomi's friends were the best. The animation of everything is so good too, like that scene where the boys were shaking their hands in the hallway, or Hitomi's crazy tongue movements. Really elevates everything that happens.

Tazzy mentioned character of the season so far, but I dunno if I have any huge contenders. All the Hinamatsuri characters are very good, with Hina probably my favorite, but they're close in quality. Kaos is pretty excellent too. No huge favorites yet though.

Character of the season has the oft occurring issue where I don't want to let my knowledge of the source material influence me, thus I don't want to say Maho.

So right now I gotta say Narumi.

Maho is solid, but I dunno. I feel like I like a few SG characters more than her. Okabe, Suzuha, and Kurisu definitely. Even here, Amadeus is a lot more exciting than Maho is...

Oh I didn't know White Fox was adapting Goblin Slayer, I always figured Re:Monster would be the orc/goblin story to become an anime first.

Guess they'll tone it down a notch, It's got some of that Akame ga Kill edge.

man that ended up disappointing

started out really good but once it started being about big mom and stopped being about the vinsmokes, it was just really boring. it felt like half of it was just the same few fights going on for forever and it really dragged.

marineford was a huge emotional climax filled with already established characters doing important stuff. the post-timeskip arcs haven't had really great stories and mostly pretty weak villains. the pacing in marineford is also much better. look at this. this is all of the major post-timeskip arcs, not just the extremely long ones. (they're all still longer than marineford)

marineford - 30 chapters
fishman island - 50 chapters
punk hazard - 36 chapters
dressrosa - 101 chapters
whole cake island - 77 chapters

every post-timeskip arc besides punk hazard has just felt too long.

Dressrosa was enough to make me drop OP. It's like they wanted it to be the next Alabasta or Enie's Lobby power arc, but it just wasn't. I would rank the entirety of post timeskip I've read below the preskip.
